BIG change to FP+ today

With regular FP system was it possible to visit Epot over the Christmas Break and within one day pull FPs for both Soarin and TT? With FP+ why not use RP to ride TT and use FP+ for Soarin? I always assumed to get any value and enjoyable experience at WDW during peak crowds RP had to be part of the strategy?

Yes it was. We have been over Christmas week, as as DS & DIL. We know to be at the gate 45 minutes prior to opening. However, with the current situation of FP being gone often by 9:30, during October, how soon will they be gone over Christmas?

Were we all not told by WDW that the beauty of FP+ was that we could relax a bit and not have to wait at the gate for 45 minutes prior to opening? Isn't that the purpose of FP+ to schedule your rides? I accepted the restriction of 3 rides, I have not complained about FP+. I thought well we will just try it out and see how it goes. But this would be too far if they restrict FP+ down to 1 headliner.

My heart goes to those with little ones who will be disappointed, and we can only hope that WDW knows what they are doing and will fix it, ASAP;)

So my fastpass+ that disappeared is back now after signing out and then back in again. All of this is enough to give me heartburn!
I do not have an apple product, so I guess I can print all of these fastpass+ off now so they don't disappear again.:rolleyes2

:faint:

I wonder how many supporters of FP+s will change their minds after this.

Already seeing several on this thread who are rattled.

I tested FP+ and disliked it for numerous reasons, but I did recognize that it would provide FP opportunities for those who don't like to be there at park opening or don't like to run around gathering FP's. That happens to not be me as I always make rope drop and gather FP's while touring. Reducing FP+ headliner availability is not appealing no matter how you tour.

As it was the system was less than ideal but tolerable. This change is anything but. It seems to be true for those arriving into Jan 5 as well.

I hope those with Nov/Dec/early Jan trips who feel negatively impacted by this call and email Disney with their concerns!

Well if you go at rope drop this just forces you to do the one you don't have a FP+ reservation for first.

ctrl prtsc will give you a screen shot. Then paste it into something like MS Word.

OP, thank you SO MUCH for the notice of this change. I was going to go and change some times around, but now don't dare. :worship:

Kenny the Pirate suggests if you already have FP+ picks that you screenshoot them. I regret that I am just a simple caveman (any SNL fans out there?) and do not know what this means or how to do it. I think it involves my phone. Do I need to download an app to my phone first? Would I do a different screenshot for each individual day? I have done everything on MDE on my laptop. If you reply, please explain as if to a child as I am NOT tech savvy.

Thanks, everybody.

Try this website for instructions on how to do a screenshot on your computer:

I thought the very thing people liked about FP+ was that it allowed you to sleep in and not do rope drop.

I have only one word to say: Fabulous.

Not a glitch, a test.

Wow, it took minutes for that person to copy and past that as their own original stuff! Dates are now closed all Nov and Dec.

Hi Kenny, I assume you were just referring to the other poster? Not sure why you quoted my little blurb? I was just reporting what I saw. I didn't even know you wrote about the new FP+ until after someone gave a link to your site. Just don't want you to think I was trying to pass off your info as mine.

I went at rope drop all week even with FP+ reservations.

I was able to ride Soarin twice stand by and Test Track once via the single rider line, and then I used my FP+ later in the day.

LOL, I am still a 'supporter' (if that's what you want to call it) of FP+. I still realize that they are testing this whole thing and they have to see what works and what doesn't.

I think in the longrun, it will be a positive change, for me at least and others that tour like me. We are the late risers that arrive around 11 or noon and stay late and close the parks. We never do RD. I did it once and I was so stressed out I will never do it again, until my kids are older and they tell me they want to do it.

This definitely is not something I want to see, but I understand that Disney has to test the system the way they see fit.

For my Epcot day, I have 3 "headliners" booked for the 3 members of my party who have linked tickets on MDE. The other 2 have to get their tickets converted when we arrive. Will I be able to copy those fastpasses over or am I out of luck because of this change?

Give it a try and let us know. I already copied my reservations for December, and it let me. But this was 2 days ago.

Thank goodness I booked all our FF+ as soon as they were available. For our EPCOT day we have 'Soarin, TT & Mission Space. I have photos of all my reservations listed in MDE on my phone just in case there is any question. I sure won't try to do any last minute changes!

I would too. But the big supporters of FP+ seem to be the late sleepers. If you still have to be there at rope drop, it sort of negates that benefit.

In response to the complaint about only being able to get a FP+ for either TT or Soarin, someone suggested doing one at RD. That's fixing a problem that wasn't there until they decided to fix something that wasn't broken.
