Disney Eastern Fantasy Concierge Trip Report | October 5-12, 2013

We just booked the Fantasy Eastern Caribbean a few days ago. Thank you for the embarkation info. Looking forward to the details on the ports of call!

Count me in :) We are headed on the same exact cruise in 8 days. Quick question, we have Remy reservations on formal night (2nd night). Often this is the best night of dining in MDRs when we have been on other cruises. This is our first Disney cruise, did you feel the MDR food was the best formal night? If so, we may try to move Remy to another night when we get on the ship. Thanks.

So excited to hear more....we also leave in a week for our 3rd Disney cruise. Got an upgrade last year to concierge level and fell in love with it....so we had to book it this year (couldn't take the chance).

Will be checking back often to read more!

I would suggest you schedule Remy so you don't miss any Animator's Palate nights. Or I should say, request a dining rotation that does the same, as you might have a difficult time changing your Remy dates this late. I think the only night the menus are somewhat mediocre are Pirate's night. Try to schedule adult dining for that night. I think all main dining rooms serve the same menu that night. If you had something extraordinary at one of your meals, ask your server ahead of time to prepare that dish again for you later in the cruise. You can view the upcoming nightly menus on the smartphone Navigator app.

On St Thomas: Besides shopping, we really enjoyed the underwater aquarium! Nice beach over there, too.

wait for your report!! i just came back from fantasy. But I did the western carribean line..I hope to go Eastern next time!!

Subscribing! I'm loving your trip report so far!
We are sailing on the Dream in May 2014 (stateroom 12520), we will be celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary, my daughter's 21st birthday and my son's 18th birthday. I can't wait!
Belated Happy 18th Birthday!

DW wants me to ask why you prefer EG to Cabanas. Just on embarkation day?

Looking forward to more. We sail in 4 days!

Sorry I was unable to get back to you before your cruise. Incase you still want to know the answer, we like to really relax on the first day and Cabanas seems hectic to us on embarkation day. Everyone wants to get in and eat and get out to explore the ship, so we prefer the table service in EG to start off our vacation. It is one of our little traditions.:)

I am so so sorry for the delay in this report, but hey better late than never!

After lunch at EG we headed back to the lounge to see if our rooms were ready. We had a short wait so me and DDad headed up to look at the sun deck and satellite falls area while DMom continued to relax in the lounge. We still had our phones on, so she called to tell us the rooms were ready. We settled in to our beautiful one bedroom suite. I didn't take any pictures though, but the pictures from the website and other trip reports are probably better than anything I could have given you. Our stateroom hostesses Kevin and Stevonnie were EXCEPTIONAL. They made our stay very very special. Our room was great other than some noise issues, but they were not major. Nothing can keep me from smiling when on such an amazing ship! :cool1:

I changed into some more comfortable clothing so DDad and I could go check out the younger kids clubs. We took way too many pictures, but I'll post a few here.

After checking out the Oceaneers Club and Lab, Pepe's Door, Europa, and the BBB we headed back to the room for the sailing away. We aren't big deck party fans. We all sat on the balcony and relaxed as we sailed away!

We had early dining so it was soon time to get ready. We avoided any pool time so there wasn't much to do. Just a quick change of clothes and then we were off to Royal Court! We had a wonderful table right by one of the portholes. Our servers Ronaldo and I Made (pronounced eee may-day) were the highlight of our trip. They were outstanding. I found a video of them doing magic tricks on youtube, so I requested them as our serving team. Each night throughout dinner they provided a magic show, and we laughed and laughed and laughed. They made the week unforgettable and I still think of them often.

he even made me a chihuahua to take home!

Royal Court is one of my favorites. I love french food, so the escargot really hits the spot. I didn't take food pictures just because I wanted to live in the moment and not worry about taking pictures of everything. I also had two desserts that night, creme brûlée and the grand mariner soufflé. Both were wonderful. (I may or may not have gotten another creme brûlée to take to my room:rotfl:)

After dinner I ditched my parents to go to the teen club, Vibe. I do not have great things to say about Vibe on the Fantasy. The counselors seemed uninterested and did not provide much to do or interact with us as much as they do on the Dream. They had a lot of dumb rules and 'card checks' which really made the experience unenjoyable. I know they are just doing their jobs, but they could revise the program a lot to make it better. I had high expectations for Vibe on the Fantasy due to my incredible experiences with the staff on the Dream, but this cruise I found myself staying in my room watching movies over going to Vibe. :sad1:

but of course to end the night, one of many towel animals!

More to come

Great report! We're sailing 1/4 - Western Caribbean. Is EG buffet or table service for lunch? We thought Cabanas was the only option for lunch on embarkation day. :)

Hello CharleySue! EG is somewhat of both. You will be lead to a table by a server and your drink orders will be taken by another server as well. After that you will be free to get up and proceed to the buffet. It is somewhat smaller than Cabanas, but our family prefers the smaller crowds and table service over hectic Cabanas on the first day. The same food is served so you won't be missing out on anything if you chose one over the other. Cabanas has the outside eating so you may consider braving the crowds if that appeals to you and your family. Hope you enjoy your cruise!! :)

Where did you find your servers on you tube? I can't find them anywhere, thanks. Loving your report!
