YES, touring Cinderella’s Dream Suite was Amazing!+14 Other Magical Days* Dismeet & Wrap

Beautiful pictures from your balcony (this is where we've decided we are staying next year for our trip in August/September).

Fun dinner and DISmeets. I know from your Dining Review you weren't thrilled with the service or food, but always nice to spend time with DISer's. :)

***And love the poses on the cruise ship.

Oh, how I want to stay at AK... You had such a great view!!

Um, I love the cruise poses. I hope you have that bend & snap one hanging up somewhere in your house!

I realllly want to go to the GFC. It just looks so nice! Yay for closing places down with yummy food & good friends. It's a wonderful feeling!

PS, I'm trying to justify a late November/mid-Dec trip...since our February trip has all but bit the dust due to Rich's project. Maybe a shopping trip then? :)

Coming out of lurkerdom to say hello! I always enjoy your reports as you give me such great ideas for things to do on my own trip!

Your views from your room were incredible!

Lol at Mr. Devine! I don't think I like him as much as his female counterpart!

Can't wait to read more.

Monkey men in tights are bound to get anyone's attention. ;)

Bubbles! Bubbles bubbles bubbles bubbles bubbles.

I know that his name is Bamboo, but I'm going to continue to call him He-Vine.....

Hahaha, awesome that Tigger did the tango with you. Just incredible. And fun. Em definitely missed out on that one.

No surveys = staying dry. Duly noted.

Hahahahaha. Oh dear. The bend and snap pose was great.

What a great meeting with Tigger! I adore Tigger, he's so fun.
I like FoTLK better too, though I think it has more to do with the music than the men in tights. ;)

Brenda, your pictures of the view from your balcony at the AKL are unbelievable. I can only hope that when we are at the AKL-CL we are as fortunate as you were. I'm really looking forward to this trip the first week of June. :thumbsup2

Another great update!!

I agree that Animal Kingdom is worth some further exploration! We said the same thing after this trip! It has all these little sections that you just end up in and have no idea how you missed it before! It really is a beautiful park!

Finding Nemo really is a great show!! It's a nice break from the heat and very entertaining to boot! But, nothing beats the Lion King, I agree! There's just something truly spectacular about that show...perhaps it IS the tights wearing monkey men, but it's just great!! :-)

Loved your meet with Pooh and Tigger!! Those are some snazzy dance moves!!

That was so kind of you to help that poor lady up the hill! I'm sure she really appreciated it!!

Awesome that you made it to the bus BEFORE the rain this time! Score!

Wow! Amazing photos from your balcony!! Just beautiful!!

Great recap of your dining experience at the Grand Floridian! What a fun dinner with Dis friends!! :-)

A Mr. Devine!? How divine! Never heard of him before. That's very cool!

A twirling tango with Tigger?! Tremendous!

I absolutely love the photo of 'bend and snap'! :rotfl2: That's pretty awesome. You and Em are totally in sync :thumbsup2

Hi Brenda! I can't imagine being Mr. Devine would be particularly fun if you had a cold :confused3 what if his nose itches?

The AC in Nemo is just one of the many things I love about that show. You got some excellent photos even without the flash!

I am melting at the pictures of you and Tigger dancing. I always end up dancing with Pluto, it's just too much fun!

You are a good citizen for pushing that woman up the hill, especially in the heat of AK in August.

Sigh, I just love giraffes, and the deer-like creature in the last of the savannah pics is so cute!

The Grand is just so pretty.

We have also been victim to the cruise ship poses :rotfl: you two are so adorable, though!

Catching up - loving all the updates and photos! Wow, I had never heard of Mr. Devine, but he is so cool! We had lunch at Tusker House on Christmas Eve a few years ago and were so impressed with the selection - sounds like breakfast is really good too. And that Bee cupcake from Disneyland is too cute! :thumbsup2

Sorry, it's late and I will do a few responses and come back tomorrow for the rest of y'all!

I still haven't seen the Nemo show either. I think it's my little protest that they got rid of Tarzan Rocks, which I LOVED!

I got the chance to eat at GF Cafe in April for the first time, which was a nice little date dinner with Ryan.

Oh my! I can imagine the fans of Tarzan - I'm guessing mostly of the female variety. If I had been to WDW back then I'm sure I would feel the same way. (BTW: Tarzan used to be in one of the DL parades and I have more than a few photos of him.)

Glad you had a nice meal at GFC! I love the view from the windows overlooking the beautiful resort grounds/pool.

LOVE that Tree of Life pic in the back. Is that on a certain path? We will totally have to find that spot! :)

Isn't that a great spot? That is on the backside of the ToL so if you were leaving TH in Africa, walk straight towards, what, Asia?? It was much cooler back there with all the shade. And of course now I know that Bamboo or Devine hangs out there.

Loved the Dismeet - and how you were all able to eat together - that must have been so fun. I must admit that I need to go read some of your dining reviews - I find it so conveinent that you post a link to each one, yet I rarely go peek... I really need to be better about that, because I enjoy your reports so much!

Love your cruise poses - they are so cute! Of course, you and Em are adorable anyways.

I am very happy about the TVs in the bus stops - I think it's high time they did that, it will be such a convenience to know how long it will be before a bus comes - because I know I tend to get annoyed when waiting for so long, I think I would be much better if I knew how long I had to wait when I got there. LOL

I can't believe you are only half way through your TR too... WOW! But it still seems like you are plugging along at a good pace. Can't wait to hear more!

D~

The term "dining review" is probably a misstatement since I'm less about the cuisine and more about the dining experience. I include a lot of photos and stories. If you have time, check it out. Some bonus features are included as well. :)

Ahhh thanks D~!

I mean not that we need more TVs in our lives but seriously, it's a great idea that makes sense.

I don't recall but I think we may have started our reviews around the same time and you have neared completion - good job D~! I feel I'm sooo slow. I use the excuse that I'm also doing a dining review and planning for the next trip coming.

How fun to run into other dis boarders like that! I'm usually too oblivious to notice people around me when I'm at WDW which actually comes in handy when there are annoying people around (or so my DH tells me).

We'll also be there in December. The 8 - 14 I think. Maybe we'll bump into each other if we overlap?

Sent from my iPad using DISBoards

Hi Jill! Believe me, it's either Em who has recognized Disers (Kristen at AKL) or people shout out to us since I'm oblivious most of the time.

Oh my gosh! I don't know if I was aware you were there at the same time as us. We should accidently on purpose run into each other. We leave the 15th to come back home. I can PM you and see if you are free later in my trip. :)

That would be great! I planned my park days based on easywdw. I'm already having nightmares about the magic bands and fast pass +! I really should stay away from those threads here. But I would love to accidentally on purpose run into you if it works out! :-)

Love your view :) I woke up super early many days and would go out on the balcony and watch them. I think on one of our excursions to Jambo I have pictures of that same little piggy hanging around that tree stump :)

What a nice Dismeet :) What a sneaky way to reveal too!

You are going to love December! We will be going back in Dec 2014 :)

I’m just catching up after being on vacation but congrats on thread of the month!

How nice of you to help the scooter lady with her stalled…vehicle! :moped: That is a long walk back from Pooh and she would have been stuck without help.

I love your bend and snap pose from the cruise…too much fun! (I love that movie)

Christine

Wow, A LOT of animals out today. Who needs a safari hen you have a view like that?

Wait... was everyone moving around the table for the group photos? Everyone seems to be in different spots in each. :scratchin Or maybe there's some kind of mirror trick going on.

They have Stacey playing at the GF bus stop???? Why would anyone ever leave? That is so

Good point Rob since we didn't have to travel far for that view and there was virtually no line - so much easier than getting on a truck! Seriously though, we weren't staying much longer at that resort so it was great to enjoy without the crowds.

You are very observant my friend. Obviously you don't read my dining reviews, for shame! :lmao: I swapped seats with someone to share my dessert thus the switcheroo! No mirrors involved in that one other than the one that told me maybe I should lay off dessert.

Ha ha! I thought you'd like the Stacey TV at the bus stop!

Mr Devine... :rotfl: :rotfl:

Love your Tigger shots! That ended up being one of our favorite meet and greets in January. We wandered down on a whim too because the line was short. Such a cute little area!

Cruise pictures are pretty corny! I was practically in tears at the hokey 80s prom poses the photographer had my parents doing when we cruised the summer! Your bend and snap one is pretty hilarious!

Even the food sounds so-so, I'm glad you enjoyed meeting more friends at GFC. Good company definitely makes up for lackluster food.

Still waiting for the dream-suite review... :cool1: :goodvibes

Thanks Emily! I've never seen long lines at the Character Spot so either it's a hidden gem or I've just timed it perfectly in the past.

I think the cruise lines need some of those picture frames and magic shots for their photos. But yeah, that's a shout out to a cute movie.

Good company trumps mediocre food any day. All you have to do is throw a cocktail on the table and it's a party right?

I love when a plan comes together...the stars align...what ever you want to call it, but to have dinner with so many friends is truly priceless!

Love the poses....you both look great!

Ahhh it was very nice Jacquie! I was so glad to see Vicki and her son again. :)

Thanks!

Oops! I got a little behind again. I'm good now, all caught up!
(I'm sure someone said this already but...) "Mr DeVine" is called Bamboo! I saw some videos, not sure I'm a fan. He looks really ungraceful and aggressive... kind of strange to me. I guess I'll judge if I get to see him in person!
I enjoy Finding Nemo, the puppets and puppeteers are pretty incredible.
LOVE the pics with Tigger!! So adorable!
Kind of scary that the scooter would run out of power on a hill, how kind of you to help her.
Awww the animals being fed! Oh seeing that from your room! I sure would love to get a little pixie dust and a view like that hehe.
Great Dismeet/dinner and especially love the mischief. Too funny.

Thanks Wendy, I now know Bamboo is the proper name but he will be Mr. DeVine in my TR! I've not seen DeVine but Bamboo moved really slowly and stealth.

Those performers for Nemo are so perfect! And Tigger made the experience so fun down at the Character Spot!

Thanks! I hope the lady found an electrical outlet! She needed to run out of power by the new Tangled rest area, that would have been a great place to re-charge! (I know, wrong park.)

Less than 2 weeks for you Wendy.... it's getting pretty exciting huh? :hyper:

I ended up getting pretty behind again but am all caught up now.

First of all I did see on FB all the picture of you with Chad. So glad you all get to spend time with him and here's to hoping he gets to stay at FT Bliss for awhile and avoid another deployment. A big Thank You to him for serving. :)

Congratulations on getting Thread of the Month for Sept!!!! Great Job!!!!! :thumbsup2 Love the update you did with all the TR threads from everyone that reads yours.

Wonderful dismeets you are having both at WDW and Disneyland. Looks like so much fun.

Beautiful views of the Safari from your room.

Thank you Christine, I appreciate your kind words. Anything could happen but the plan is for Chad to be in Tx for another year, which I am completely fine with given what the alternative would be.

Thanks to you for reading and contributing to the top thread honor! You are so sweet. :)

I love when real life and Dis life intersect - whether FL or CA! ::yes::

Catching up because for some reason I wasn't subscribed like I thought that I was and I missed 3 or 4 updates!! :scared1:

I have heard recently that Mr. Devine is gone already. :confused3 Maybe it isn't true and he is just on "refurb" but I really wanted to try to find him.

Glad you were able to get out of AK without getting drenched on your second day. Your Dismeet dinner at the GF sounds fun! I'm glad you were able to add 2 people to your reservation. We've eaten their before and the food was pretty good but my DS7 who was our DS4 at the time screamed through the ENTIRE meal. :rolleyes2

I hope you really enjoy your cruise at the end of the trip especially since you had to cancel O'hana for it. ::yes::

Glad to hear that your son is home! Tell him "Thank you!" for serving our country and protecting our freedoms.

Lastly your "bend and snap" cruise photo is HILARIOUS!!! :rotfl2: :lmao: Did they pose ya'll like that or was that something you ladies came up with? I would have died!!! :rotfl:

Hi Bridget! (Who actually HAS a top thread badge!) No worries, I think I did the same thing for your TR, could have sworn I subbed. And now you're moving along to your next trip. :thumbsup2

I believe Mr. Devine (Bamboo) is still around since he "debuted" in August. At least according to AllEars. You know Disney, everything is subject to change.

I think every family has had one of those screaming children at dinner, it happens. It's hard to picture your sweet little DS doing that. :littleangel: It was a very nice gathering of friends.

Giving up 'Ohana was good in the end.. you'll see... just another 25 updates to go to get there!

Thank you Bridget for your kind words of support for our son.

That cruise pose we did ourselves. We were doing a lot of goofy poses so that was one of them.

Thanks for getting caught up!

Hi Kathy! Great resort choice! Villas or resort room? I want to stay here again as well!

Yeah, fortunately the company more than made up for the food and definitely our server could have used about 5 less tables. On the bright side, slow service meant we could enjoy time with our friends longer.

Thanks! That's how we roll!

Hi Jennifer! It really was! I'd book that room type again for that view.

Ha ha! No. It's not hanging in the house but we do have a pose with our Moose "ears" that is pretty cool.

I agree, dining with Dis pals makes any meal special. Reference Hungry Bear and a certain couple that we met up with a couple months ago! :goodvibes

Sorry about February! :worried: We'll be at WDW from 12/5-12/15 so if you go to the World then we could meet up otherwise I'll miss shopping with you!

Coming out of lurkerdom to say hello! I always enjoy your reports as you give me such great ideas for things to do on my own trip!

Your views from your room were incredible!

Lol at Mr. Devine! I don't think I like him as much as his female counterpart!

Can't wait to read more.

Hi Jessica! I remember your dining reviews from when I was a Disboard newbie! Welcome and thanks for reading!! I'm so glad that you are here and joining! :)

I hadn't seen Ms. Devine before but I've seen photos and she is amazing. The dudes in tights should be reserved for the tumble monkeys perhaps.

BTW: We have family from the land of beer, cheese, and football! Love that description!

Monkey men in tights are bound to get anyone's attention.

Oh Dani! I agree! :rolleyes1

And yes, BUBBLES, BuBbLeS, bubbles, bUbBlEs!!
bubblesjpb1.jpg

I'm totally going to remember He-vine so when he appears in your TRs I'll already know. Staying ahead of the curve and all.

Em almost always misses out on the Character Spot interactions. Of course I did bend the truth a little once to get her to go pose with me. See here. They fell for the old "there's a/c down there" trick. I'm so evil!

If anyone asks you to complete a survey ask for a rain poncho. Just sayin'!

Thanks - we are legally having too much fun!

All caught up again !! Looking forward to treading more !!

Susan

Hi Susan! Glad you are catching up. Without a current TR from you I feel like I'm missing something!

Oh, and the running thing on FB, yeah, my ankle was a very simple fx that has pretty much healed. I have no excuses to not start running. Unlike your complex and severe fx that required surgery and being incapacitated. So sorry you still deal with that. :worried:

What a great meeting with Tigger! I adore Tigger, he's so fun.
I like FoTLK better too, though I think it has more to do with the music than the men in tights. ;)

Hi Rachel! Isn't he a bundle of fun? Definitely my favorite.

I absolutely agree about the music distinction. Nemo is cute and good and all but when they sing Circle of Life at FotLK, oh my gosh! Chills! So awesome! But the tumble monkeys aren't bad either. ;)

Brenda, your pictures of the view from your balcony at the AKL are unbelievable. I can only hope that when we are at the AKL-CL we are as fortunate as you were. I'm really looking forward to this trip the first week of June. :thumbsup2

Hi Bob! Thanks and I know you'll be enjoying that view as well since you are booked for a CL room. I don't think there's a bad arusha view room since they scatter the animal feeding stations throughout the savanna.

Where are you staying in December?

Another great update!!

I agree that Animal Kingdom is worth some further exploration! We said the same thing after this trip! It has all these little sections that you just end up in and have no idea how you missed it before! It really is a beautiful park!

Awesome that you made it to the bus BEFORE the rain this time! Score!

Wow! Amazing photos from your balcony!! Just beautiful!!

Great recap of your dining experience at the Grand Floridian! What a fun dinner with Dis friends!! :-)

Thanks TM!

I agree and now having explored more areas I feel bad that I've missed so much in the past and not given it more time.

Another female who is a fan of FotLK?? Hmmmm... ;)

Tigger didn't disappoint, that's for sure! Throwing in a few dance moves was a bonus!

Thanks!

A Mr. Devine!? How divine! Never heard of him before. That's very cool!

A twirling tango with Tigger?! Tremendous!

I absolutely love the photo of 'bend and snap'! :rotfl2: That's pretty awesome. You and Em are totally in sync.

Ha ha! Sounds a little like your TR title except no food and no wine!

Tigger love for sure! :tigger:

Thanks! We prefer to not be serious most of the time. :)

Hi Brenda! I can't imagine being Mr. Devine would be particularly fun if you had a cold :confused3 what if his nose itches?

The AC in Nemo is just one of the many things I love about that show. You got some excellent photos even without the flash!

The Grand is just so pretty.

We have also been victim to the cruise ship poses :rotfl: you two are so adorable, though!

Hi Courtney! See? You are thinking like me - what does Bamboo do if the pollen count is excessively high that day? :confused3

I had the camera on the Nemo show setting so yeah, they turned out pretty swell.

Pluto dancing would be so cute and adorable. And dancing with you who is already cute and adorable well that would be a moment to bring a smile to anyone's face!! The funniest interaction with him has been trying to feed him sausage at 'Ohana once.

Do unto others you know.... It wasn't a big deal for me.

Oh those cruise ship photographers. They take so many serious photos that we sometimes have to throw in a silly one.

Hi Emma! I'm glad you are catching up. I must do the same.

Oh my gosh! You are a cupcake lover so that cupcake is perfect. :thumbsup2The bee is a little chocolate treat but the star of the cupcake is the lemon filling. Soooo awesome!!!

TH on Christmas Eve would be extra special!

That would be great! I planned my park days based on easywdw. I'm already having nightmares about the magic bands and fast pass +! I really should stay away from those threads here. But I would love to accidentally on purpose run into you if it works out!

Sent from my iPad using DISBoards

I think we'll be focusing on MK later in our trip if it makes any difference. I keep putting off making set plans since I'm having trouble connecting our new APs to our bands. Argh! I can PM you my contact information and we can try to work out something!

Love your view. I woke up super early many days and would go out on the balcony and watch them. I think on one of our excursions to Jambo I have pictures of that same little piggy hanging around that tree stump :)

What a nice Dismeet :) What a sneaky way to reveal too!

You are going to love December! We will be going back in Dec 2014 :)

Hi Sarah! I loved the early mornings on the balcony. I'm looking forward to hearing about your experiences with your TR.

I think that piggy may have his "territory" perhaps.

Thanks! We decided to mess with our pal hosting the live dining thread. She was onto us before the reveal but I played stupid. Not hard to do!

I can't wait to see all of the parks and resorts decked out for Christmas. This is a first for us. (We see DL every year but this is different.)

Christine

Hi Christine! Welcome back and I hope you had a nice trip! And thanks to people like you for making that honor happen!

It's not like they had a scooter tow vehicle around so I was glad to help. :)

Thanks! I hadn't seen it in awhile so I was glad to dust that photo off to share here! Lucky you guys! Cute movie as well! Reese is adorable.

What a fun DISdining experience. Even if the food and service weren't right, clearly the company was!

Your cruise pose pictures crack me up!

Hi Bob! Thanks and I know you'll be enjoying that view as well since you are booked for a CL room. I don't think there's a bad arusha view room since they scatter the animal feeding stations throughout the savanna.

Where are you staying in December?

My daughter will be glad to hear this. She is the one who really wanted to go to the AKL and with a little hesitation, since I allowed the choice to be hers, we booked the AKL-CL. Now after a couple of months having booked it I am really looking forward to it and your TR has fueled the enthusiasm!

As for where we are staying in just30 days? :cool1: We are staying at the WL CL. This is my favorite resort so far, but then again I have only stayed at the YC CL and WL CL. I originally was going to stay at the CSR and after a couple of months I changed our plans and booked the WL. Since WDW is going to be all decked out in Christmas décor, I just had to stay a the WL.

OK, am I being terribly English here .... Bend and snap?? - what the devil does that mean?
