YES, touring Cinderella’s Dream Suite was Amazing!+14 Other Magical Days* Dismeet & Wrap

Hi Judy!! Thanks for the kind comment.

Ha ha!! that's great! :lmao:

Honestly we spend less time at AK park than any other but I'm discovering more so now I see that we'll likely spend more time there but I agree that for some reason it just seems hotter and more humid! (all those plants and foliage I suppose??)

It was very nice to see you stopping by here!! Enjoy your weekend sweet lady!

I love the weekend! I have a house full of teens/young adults. They were outside with at the fire pit, roasting weenies, marshmallows and mores...now they have invaded my downstairs...I love to hear their exuberance and wonder where MY energy went. :rotfl2:

I would love to like AK more, not sure I ever will. With all of the foliage, etc there isn't' a lot of shade where we need it and very few A/C spots. Lisa can't do a lot of rides there either.

I will be by more, I hope. :thumbsup2 I read more than I type sometimes.

I got so excited when I saw you updated yesterday... but when you said you left Tusker House I was like huh? I missed an update argh! I'm always behind.

I love all the DIS meets, that's so cool! I've never met another DISer. I keep hoping that one of our future trips will overlap someone elses. I also love all the pictures you include from DL. It makes me SO excited to go there someday (under 4 years to go, not that I'm counting or anything...)

I love the dress you wore to AK. So appropriate! I don't think I've ever took a picture of that sign or in front of it.

So cool that you could meet up at Tusker House with another DISer with overlapping reservations. The Chicago Disney swag is so cool and very thoughtful!

We have never eaten at Tusker House before but it's definitely on our Disney bucket list. Safari Mickey is too cute! The inside looks really cool.

Haha I think of things like that! I call it the downside of being a grown up at Disney. I think about all the little details like that.

The Finding Nemo show looks really cute. We somehow STILL have not seen FOTLK or FNTM. Maybe next trip Gavin will be old enough to sit still. At 9 months old, I really thought things like that would really interest them but he could've cared less (turtle talk with crush and the entire seas pavilion for that matter)

I love the pictures of you and Tigger dancing!

That was very sweet of you to help that woman out, I'm sure she really appreciated it!

I'm glad you were able to make it back before the rain this time!

Wow that's a tough choice, I don't know that I would've been able to say no to O'hana bread pudding... but I bet the cruise will/did more than make up for it!

Off to read your dining review of Tusker House!

I didn't even know there was a Mr. Devine, learn something new everyday.

Finding Nemo is just fantastic. You took some great photos.

Your Tigger meet and greet is adorable! He just looks so excited to see you.

How nice of you to help the lady in the scooter. I can imagine with the heat it would have been very difficult for her to pull herself up. Brenda Disney to the rescue!

So excited you were able to rebook your cruise! Hmm... 20% off with an AP, now you're putting all sorts of ideas in my head. :scratchin We were already tossing around the idea of an October '14 trip, so an AP would come in handy.

Hi Ashley! Mr. Devine/Bamboo was new to us too. I suppose I need to hang out at AK park more often to know what's going on. Next thing you know they will be building another land based on a non-Disney movie! :rotfl2:

Thanks, I get lucky with photos sometimes.

When you have APs I must caution you that you justify many things!!

Brenda, as usual another awesome report on your days activities...

1. Perhaps the tree guy doesn't take a potty break, instead he may be wearing Depends. :rotfl2:

2. I also like the Nemo show but I agree with you the FotLK is much better. And I should also add that what an excellent job with the photo's; I can't get mine to look that good in low light. :thumbsup2

3. As for monkey men in tights; I can pass on it. :sad2: :confused3

4. I love your pictures with Tigger. I'm not too crazy about Winnie the Pooh either, but next to Goofy, Tigger is simply "ridickerous." :rotfl2:

5. What an awesome thing to do in helping that poor woman with the scooter. Very few people in our day and age will take the few moments out of their day to assist another person in need. What goes around comes around, and I see a good favor being returned to you. ::yes::

6. After being very hesitant in booking the AKL CL for our trip in June 2014, you have me really looking forward to this visit with your review. :thumbsup2

Hi Bob!
Devine depends, hmmm product placement perhaps is in order? :rotfl2:

I think I have a Nemo setting on my camera so those photos had to turn out. Or if I didn't lie I'd have to say that I was just lucky!

You can definitely take a pass on the men in tights - rightfully so.

Something tells me your are a Goofy fan. I've not had a bad interaction with Tigger! He had his dancing shoes on for sure.

Do unto others and all, I completely agree with that.

I'm so glad that you are excited about AKL CL. I would love to return and bring my hubby. Maybe in June...

Brenda, what a wonderful update.

I'm so glad you got to see Bamboo too. I, too, have often wondered what they do if they have to go to the bio break room. ;)

Great pictures at the Nemo show. You have stalkers? Really? Who would have thought. :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Tigger must have run over from AK and dancing with you to Epcot to dance with me. :)

Emily is quiet and soft-spoken, but also a charming girl and quite beautiful too.

And the photopass pictures at the end of the day show that smiling face of hers as opposed to her morning pictures.

Hi Kathy! See, inquiring minds! He is a bush though so that raises a whole bunch of other questions....

Can we agree that you can't stalk the willing?

I think Tigger likes to dance with the ladies but he was like medicine for your heart when he took you for a spin.

Awww thanks Kathy! A momma always loves to hear that.

Wow, I never there was a male devine! How cool! What an adorable meet with Pooh and Tigger, Precious!!

Hi Rachel! I agree, how cool that they have a male version.

The characters there have consistently been very fun. I caught Pooh and Tigger dancing with each other one time. That was awesome!

Breakfast buffets always put me in a food coma.... There is always something sugary and delish that beckons me to eat it!! You saw Bamboo! Maybe if they called him Mr DaVine he would have stayed around - I think he has been discontinued...

I love the fact you helped the woman in the ECV. I think it's a great thing you did and shows what a big heart you have!

Ooo a DVC/AP discount on a illuminations cruise? Hmmm now you have me thinking!!

Hi Sarah! So you don't judge me for eating the Krispy Kreme and the waffles and the cobbler and any other sugary options. Good to know. I think you are right, I couldn't help myself. :)

Did you not see Mr. Bamboo dude? Bummer if they sent him to the compost heap.

20% off Sarah... keep thinking...

Congrats on thread of the month!!!:cheer2:

And add me to the list of those who didn't know there was a Mr. DeVine!

Thank you!

See, we learn new stuff all the time. I didn't know either until we saw him. It was like, whoa, that tall bush is alive and walking towards us!!

Well since you HAD to renew, you might HAVE to meet me there in April! :goodvibes

What a fun meet, it looks like you had a great day!!!

I love me some Nemo to but there is just SOMETHING about those tumble monkeys isn't there!

I didn't know he existed. How cool is that!

Very nice that you were able to reschedule the cruise. I am cracking up at the "secret" of your dress. Love the Tigger tango, Em's shirt, beating the rain but most importantly , the scooter push.

Hi Cynthia! ABSOLUTELY!! I would love to meet up in April... I'll have to find out your dates and coordinate. For SURE! :thumbsup2

Now that you've met Kathy in person we can both agree how awesome she is!
I think I need to form a fan club.

Mr. Devine/Bamboo stalking the jungle, I wasn't aware either but now I'll be on the look-out.

Yes, fashion tips for the ladies, shop in the loungewear section for some great deals. If Kathy couldn't tell I was wearing PJs I feel like it is pretty much fashion camouflage!

Thanks!

Tigger is one of my very favorite Disney characters. Your dancing photos with him are so much fun.

I read on Allears that Bamboo just debuted in August. Leave it to you to run across him so soon. We saw DeVine in December 2010 but haven't been fortunate enough to see her any other times.

Hi Kathy! Awwww we are both Tigger lovers!! He was a great dancer.

Thanks for sharing that information regarding Bamboo. For anyone interested, here's the link. I'm glad we were able to catch him while he was still fresh and new.

I had no idea there was a Mr. Divine! That is so cool!! I am with you...we really need to explore AK a lot more.

Nemo is so fun. Those puppets & actors are so darned talented.

Oh my goodness you got to dance with Tigger!! How adorable & memorable! Tigger really is a fun character to meet. Pluto too. What is it about them?

I'm so glad you helped that lady. I would have felt horrible leaving here there too. I hope help came quickly for her!

That minnie shirt is super cute. Is there anything better than Minnie with rhinestones? I think not! I'm always on a mission for cute Minnie & Snow White tees. I need to borrow you guys for a disney shopping trip. :)

Hi Jennifer! Before long they'll have a whole new land to explore and then I'll really be behind the exploration curve!

Em noticed new cast members in the Nemo show this time and of course I don't pay that much attention but it made me think there really is a great pool of talent out there.

Don't you think that interactions with fur characters are sometime better than the face characters? They communicate so cleverly without words. I just love them.

I'd welcome a shopping trip with you my friend!

This is from wdwmagic, posted on August 9, 2013:
A new living statue act is coming to Disney's Animal Kingdom next week.
Opening August 14, 'Bamboo' will appear in Africa at 11:30am, 12:30pm, 1:30pm and 2:30pm. Fans of the DiVine will continue to find her in the Oasis. The Allears article said they appear for 20 minutes at a time. With hourly 20 minute appearances, well, we can do the math regarding bio breaks...:rolleyes1

In another publication they are referred to as cousins. I still like Brenda's Mr. DiVine.

Ahhh I see that now...thanks again for your research. Your commitment to the Disney loving public is appreciated! :goodvibes And... you answered the other burning question about the potty breaks.

The pictures of you dancing with Tigger are amazing!! What fun!!!!

Thank you khaleesi!!! It was fun for sure.

How great that you saw Bamboo, he looks pretty cool!

Loving the dancing with Tigger photos, very cute and how nice of you to help the lady on the scooter :goodvibes

Hi Jo! I'm pretty excited that we were able to see him. Of course it would have been better had he said hi back but he's apparently the strong silent type.

Thanks!

Ahhh a mother's happy heart! I love that! I love those nights that Michael and I are upstairs and Em has friends over and we hear them giggling and carrying on downstairs. :lovestruc

I am truly glad to see you every time you come by. I seriously would love to meet up with you one day. I know there will be a one day eventually.... :cloud9:

I got so excited when I saw you updated yesterday... but when you said you left Tusker House I was like huh? I missed an update argh! I'm always behind.

No worries Melissa! I know mommy time is valuable and time with little Gavin is a commodity.

I think y'all would really enjoy TH someday. Gavin with Safari Mickey would be precious. Definitely there will be more on your Disney list as Gavin gets older. It's hard when they are so little but that will change quickly.

I know, no bread pudding this trip but we did get a cruise out of it! ::yes::

Monday August 19, 2013: Day 4, Part 3

Back in the room we sat on the balcony and watched the animals being fed. It was pretty fascinating. I just never tire of seeing this view.

While Em took a nap I switched around some dining reservations for the next day and cancelled our Ohana dinner on the last night. So sad!

We had another Dismeet dinner tonight so we cleaned up and grabbed a taxi to the Grand Floridian for our 6:30 reservation at GF Café. We were dining once again with Mr. DDW and his mom. However, the most perfectly timed coincidence occurred when we saw Vicki (GoofySonsmom) and her son Andrew show up!! They happened to change their dinner plans and decided to try for a walk-up at GFC. I quickly changed our dinner party from 4 to 6 and we were able to have dinner all together!

It may not have been the best food and certainly not the best service but I LOVED this dining experience because we were with so many wonderful friends. For all the highs and lows and of this meal you can read my dining review here. Since all of us were participating in the Live Dining thread and submitting our dining reviews we decided to mess with Barb (Jabead, the living dining thread hostess) who didnt know that we were all eating together and decided that the last one to submit their review would reveal that we all dined together. Vicki was first by default since this was her last dinner at WDW. I would go second and Mr. DDW would be responsible for the big reveal. Oh the mischief!!

We called this our cruise ship pose:

And here's why...we have been put in lovey poses before on cruises:

While I'm at it... this was our "bend and snap" pose from our Alaska cruise:

Somebody didn't want her photo to be taken... again!

We closed this place down. Well, almost, there were those people still there.
DSCN4512.jpg

After saying good-bye to Vicki and Andrew we piled in Mr. DDWs car and headed back to YC/BC. While we were passing the GF bus stop area I noticed that they have TVs with Stacey TV being played. Very cool!

Note: I'm looking forward to seeing Vicki in December as she will be one of the friends that will be getting together for some dining and park fun. :goodvibes

Great pictures of Mr. Divine or Bamboo they were almost as good as pictures of the Lion King monkey. I also loved the dancing pictures with Trigger he should be on Dancing with the Stars.

Hi there! Thanks!

Now THAT would be a sight! Tigger with the mirror ball trophy! :thumbsup2

It is great you were able to have another Dismeet at the GF Cafe, plus the added Dis-group pictures.

I am loving the AKL pictures from your balcony. The more I see the more I want to stay at the AKL on my next visit to Disney World.

I just realized we're only on day 4. You have done some much already and you're not even halfway through your trip.

Just love your view. I think I have been on a few safaris before without seeing that many animals.

OMG the bend and snap, works everytime! :lmao: Oh that is too funny.

It seems like you have quite a few DISmeets coming up in December, can't wait to read all about it.

Oops! We were tag teaming updates/edits!

Thanks! You would not be disappointed if you booked that! I'm sad that my next trip doesn't include a stay there again. Sigh.

Ha ha! I'm pathetically slow, that's for sure. I am trying to simultaneously keep my dining review going as well.

I'm glad you know what the bend and snap is!! I thought I may have to insert a reference to the movie but then if I did it wouldn't matter since they wouldn't know anyway!

December will be mostly Dismeets because of a group of us that are going for some fun together. I'm fortunate to pick up a few more Dismeets from folks outside the dining boards as well. :goodvibes We're definitely blessed to be able to do this.

I still haven't seen the Nemo show either. I think it's my little protest that they got rid of Tarzan Rocks, which I LOVED!

I got the chance to eat at GF Cafe in April for the first time, which was a nice little date dinner with Ryan.

LOVE that Tree of Life pic in the back. Is that on a certain path? We will totally have to find that spot! :)

Loved the Dismeet - and how you were all able to eat together - that must have been so fun. I must admit that I need to go read some of your dining reviews - I find it so conveinent that you post a link to each one, yet I rarely go peek... I really need to be better about that, because I enjoy your reports so much!

Love your cruise poses - they are so cute! Of course, you and Em are adorable anyways.

I am very happy about the TVs in the bus stops - I think it's high time they did that, it will be such a convenience to know how long it will be before a bus comes - because I know I tend to get annoyed when waiting for so long, I think I would be much better if I knew how long I had to wait when I got there. LOL

I can't believe you are only half way through your TR too... WOW! But it still seems like you are plugging along at a good pace. Can't wait to hear more!

D~

How fun to run into other dis boarders like that! I'm usually too oblivious to notice people around me when I'm at WDW which actually comes in handy when there are annoying people around (or so my DH tells me).

We'll also be there in December. The 8 - 14 I think. Maybe we'll bump into each other if we overlap?

Sent from my iPad using DISBoards

Wow, A LOT of animals out today. Who needs a safari hen you have a view like that?

Wait... was everyone moving around the table for the group photos? Everyone seems to be in different spots in each. :scratchin Or maybe there's some kind of mirror trick going on.

They have Stacey playing at the GF bus stop???? Why would anyone ever leave? That is so

Mr Devine... :rotfl: :rotfl:

Love your Tigger shots! That ended up being one of our favorite meet and greets in January. We wandered down on a whim too because the line was short. Such a cute little area!

Cruise pictures are pretty corny! I was practically in tears at the hokey 80s prom poses the photographer had my parents doing when we cruised the summer! Your bend and snap one is pretty hilarious!

Even the food sounds so-so, I'm glad you enjoyed meeting more friends at GFC. Good company definitely makes up for lackluster food.

Still waiting for the dream-suite review... :cool1: :goodvibes

I love when a plan comes together...the stars align...what ever you want to call it, but to have dinner with so many friends is truly priceless!

Love the poses....you both look great!

Oops! I got a little behind again. I'm good now, all caught up!
(I'm sure someone said this already but...) "Mr DeVine" is called Bamboo! I saw some videos, not sure I'm a fan. He looks really ungraceful and aggressive... kind of strange to me. I guess I'll judge if I get to see him in person!
I enjoy Finding Nemo, the puppets and puppeteers are pretty incredible.
LOVE the pics with Tigger!! So adorable!
Kind of scary that the scooter would run out of power on a hill, how kind of you to help her.
Awww the animals being fed! Oh seeing that from your room! I sure would love to get a little pixie dust and a view like that hehe.
Great Dismeet/dinner and especially love the mischief. Too funny.

I ended up getting pretty behind again but am all caught up now.

First of all I did see on FB all the picture of you with Chad. So glad you all get to spend time with him and here's to hoping he gets to stay at FT Bliss for awhile and avoid another deployment. A big Thank You to him for serving. :)

Congratulations on getting Thread of the Month for Sept!!!! Great Job!!!!! :thumbsup2 Love the update you did with all the TR threads from everyone that reads yours.

Wonderful dismeets you are having both at WDW and Disneyland. Looks like so much fun.

Beautiful views of the Safari from your room.

Catching up because for some reason I wasn't subscribed like I thought that I was and I missed 3 or 4 updates!! :scared1:

I have heard recently that Mr. Devine is gone already. :confused3 Maybe it isn't true and he is just on "refurb" but I really wanted to try to find him.

Glad you were able to get out of AK without getting drenched on your second day. Your Dismeet dinner at the GF sounds fun! I'm glad you were able to add 2 people to your reservation. We've eaten their before and the food was pretty good but my DS7 who was our DS4 at the time screamed through the ENTIRE meal. :rolleyes2

I hope you really enjoy your cruise at the end of the trip especially since you had to cancel O'hana for it. ::yes::

Glad to hear that your son is home! Tell him "Thank you!" for serving our country and protecting our freedoms.

Lastly your "bend and snap" cruise photo is HILARIOUS!!! :rotfl2: :lmao: Did they pose ya'll like that or was that something you ladies came up with? I would have died!!! :rotfl:
