YES, touring Cinderella’s Dream Suite was Amazing!+14 Other Magical Days* Dismeet & Wrap

Thanks D~! I may have an advantage that I live near Disneyland for these Dismeets. :) It helps to have a DL park nearby to bribe people for a meet up! :lmao: I was glad to meet Lori since I had taken her dining advice a time or two.

Hahaha... I try to lure people with the Mall of America - but some how, I can see where DL is a better bribe... :scratchin

The elation of having a fresh AP is rather nice! You keep sewing those fabulous park bags and not only will you have one but Disney will have to move aside those Vera bags to make room for yours!

Well, thank you... That's means a lot to me, Brenda... But some how - the 40ish bags I can crank out in a year will never keep pace with the billions that Disney and VB can make in China... So, I just enjoy things the way they are, I am truly happy that I can add so much magic to the few trips I do. :thumbsup2

That was our first time eat at the Cove Bar. I've only had drinks there in the past. I'm glad we were hungry enough to try their appetizer menu.

Well - it looks fantastic!! ::yes:: Some day - I hope to make it out your direction to try DL. :beach: Maybe I could even drag DH along with me and he might enjoy it? :scratchin

D~

Enjoyed reading so far you and your daughter seem very fun and up for good time . Loving the lay out of the trip report aswell very easy to read and get sucked in to a great trip

That's so funny that we are on the same page.... you have to look...;) Your mom was dialed in and of course you must act innocent for your fiancé!! btw, Becky now works at Be Our Guest as a server.

Oh that's good to know. It will make flirting with Mark so much easier and less awkward than it would be if Becky was there ;)

Hey, Mary was pressuring me to get it started.

I definitely know that Cynthia did NOT fly up to Chicago to meet me but for business. You forgot to mention when Captain_Oblivious and FreezinRafiki were both in Chicago with their families a couple of summers ago and we met for lunch while the ladies and daughters went to American Girl. Or when FauntleroyFAN07 came to Chicago with his family and I met them at Milennium Park. Seriously, I think you are ahead of me with the DIS meets. But you are right...there is a load of them for December.

I LOVE your photos from your DISmeet with Lori (vettegirl). I met Lori (NOT in person) on teh DIS on the CSR thread. A lovely gal. It looks like the three of you had a blast.

Good for Mary, I'm glad that you got it started!

And I KNEW there were a LOT more Dismeets you've had in the greater Chicago area! See? What did I tell you?

Lori is a sweetie!

BTW: I realize I only put one of the TH photos on your FB wall but I PM'd you all three. Not sure I did you any favors since you could take them from my FB page as well or even from my update here. Oh well... I'm none to sharp.

Just started following this thread. 15 days at Disney sounds unbelievable. Can't wait for your next update!

Hi there Julie! Welcome and thank you for joining!! I'm very glad that you are here.

The trip didn't start at 15 days, it keep growing until I finally got some self control back. ;)

YAY, another Disneyland DISMEET! You are slowly but surely meeting every Diser there is. I'm also starting to think most (if not all) are going to Disneyland JUST to meet you. :goodvibes

Looks like a nice relaxing, fun day in D-Land. I've heard they decorate even more than Magic Kingdom for Halloween, so it must be so very cool.

The Nightmare overlay on Haunted Mansion is something I really need to see one day. It looks so fabulous.

Hi Rob! So not true but thanks!

DL must have a few more decorations out since the Partners statue hub is decorated and of course HM is all decked out.

But, no headless horseman at DL so there's where MK has it beat!

Brenda, you are amazing! Congratulations on having a top thread! You definitely deserve it. Thank you for the shout out as well, Oprah. ;) You are so kind!

Yay Animal Kingdom! You are so right. What place doesn't charge extra for a wild time? You gotta take advantage of it when you can.

As always, you guys are super adorable. I love the character shots. How I love their jungle trek outfits, they're so cute! I'm glad you guys had a good time at the tusker house.

Dis meet!! I love your shots of the parade. Looks like you ladies had a great time.

Hi Jennifer. Thank you!!

And by wild, I'm sure they don't mean that I can drink from a plastic straw anytime I want.

You were my Miss August 2013 Dismeet pal!! I'm glad you were here for D23 so we could meet as well.

Just popped in to say hi. :wave2: I hope I didn't make you :faint: You are on the top of my list of "Hope to meet" one day!! Loving all of the ics and the fun; but, hopelessly behind.

Hi Judy!! I'm so very glad that you dropped in to say hello! I certainly didn't faint but I did have a big smile!!

Awwwww I would LOVE that as well. There would be some serious hugging going on with you sweet lady.

I see your next trip is fairly soon. I wish you all the best with your planning!

What a fun DIS meet Brenda - I am very jealous of those beautiful blue sky's in your photos
It's pouring with rain here at the moment :(
Argh - come on December!

Hi Linda! Oh man! Rain rain go away.... and stay away.

I have no idea how I got 10 pages behind, but I am now caught up.
1) :yay: For spending time with your son. From one military mom to another, the time they are home is priceless. Hope you have a great time together.
2) :cool1: on being #1 for Sept. And an extra thanks for invited me to your thread. I enjoy reading your trips and hearing about all your dismeets.
3) :woohoo: For your TH breakfast. This is the one place I know for sure we are eating at on our next trip.

Hi Sandy! Thank you. I'm grateful that we did have the time we spent together. At least as he goes away it is just back to Texas for the next year.

Thanks and I'm glad that you are hear and joined! :goodvibes

You will not leave TH hungry or lacking in character love!

I'm loving your TR - you two seem so fun! Thanks for posting about Disneyland. My husband I will actually be there for the first time ever on November 8. I'm sooooo excited!!

Hi there Hutch! Thank you so much for joining and welcome!

I'm glad the DL update gave you a taste of what's to come in a few weeks. I hope you enjoy your time here! November is such a great time to visit.

First off- CONGRATS! :cheer2

Your threads are so well written, and sprinkled with such fantastic pictures! You're definitely deserving of the honor. Hopefully one day (only after Jess' TR is done, of course) you'll see the top honor as well!

CL looks sooooo delicious!

TH is also soooo delicious! Definitely one of my favorite breakfasts in WDW!

You and Em look like you always have so much fun on your DISmeets! You guys have definitely inspired me and if I ever had the chance, I'd love to set up a DISmeet with some of the awesome people I've met here. What a fun way to spread the Disney cheer!

HI Emily! Awww shucks, thanks!

There's a lot of TH fans out here. Wish I hadn't cancelled so many times before finally trying it.

I figure I may as well meet in person the awesome people that we chat with on the Disboards. I've made friends in "real life" for almost all of them. :)

All caught up! Hope you are enjoying the time with your son! Great photos and thanks to you we tried yak and yeti for the first time this trip. Harold pronounced it best burger, my dad loved his Ribs and Eveie tried both of theirs and said her spring rolls were better than either!

Hi Alysa and welcome back from your trip!! How was the MNSSHP and Robbie with his adorable costume?

I'm glad your family enjoyed Y&Y! I'm with Eveie, I love those spring rolls! Hopefully you were able to find a great veggie option there as well.

Please let me know if you do a TR. I'd love to join. :goodvibes

Oh my. I'm 47 pages late :rotfl2: Looks like it may take me a while to catch up but I will! :thumbsup2

Alright i'm about halfway:yay:

For starters, absolutely LOVE your Voice Mail message for your coworkers. Sheer brilliance!

I love SWA too. Mainly for the 2 free bags per person:thumbsup2 Is there a reason why you go to the back of the plane? Do you just prefer the back? Just asking, usually people want the front of the plane so they can get off faster.

Oh my goodness! Your room at the WL is amazing! Are these newly refurbished rooms. The headboards couldn't be more fantastic.

My mom had so many issues with her MB, we always had her KTTW card available. Ours worked perfectly. So strange.

I got to see the Tangled bathrooms on this trip! :dance3: Such a cute addition.

Also, you and your daughter could seriously be sisters. You guys are too adorable!:cutie:

Hi there sweetie!! I'm thrilled that you are reading. (and I know that you are a busy mom so that means a lot that you would take the time to read!) I still think of you when I think of Artist Point and the mushroom soup. Your reviews were epic!!

My little back of the plane secret... the last few trips for SW in particular, we've sat in the back and usually with an almost full flight no one sits in the empty seat between us so we end up having a row to ourselves. By the time the get near the back of the plane they've found a seat already. That and the bathroom is closer!

You are adorable, thanks for the sister compliment. If there wasn't over 30 years separating us that may be believable!! :lmao:

Hahaha... I try to lure people with the Mall of America - but some how, I can see where DL is a better bribe... :scratchin

D~

Good morning D~! Your bags are definitely a reflection of your talent and creativity so even if your bag doesn't trump Vera in sales, she'll never have anything on you for bags made with love. ::yes::

Enjoyed reading so far you and your daughter seem very fun and up for good time . Loving the lay out of the trip report aswell very easy to read and get sucked in to a great trip

Hi there Crickey! Thank you so very much for reading and joining in all the way from the UK! :)

Thanks, I'm glad you are enjoying the story of our trip.

Oh that's good to know. It will make flirting with Mark so much easier and less awkward than it would be if Becky was there ;)

:rotfl: I feel the same way!

Hi! I have been lurking for a while trying to catch up! Love the DL photos! I try and get out there a couple times a year as my sister lives in LA and my cousins are fairly close to DL. I wish that "fall" started labor day weekend! I have been there that weekend the past two years and don't see it changing in the future. I always miss the HM all done up for Chrismaweem! I am just loving the Fall DL photos you posted!

Yay i'm officially caught up now!

The music on the bus to the AKL - HEART!:cloud9: I was watching the videos last night and it was loud and DH asked, "Animal Kingdom?"::yes:: I have that music on my iTunes and love all AKL music and it instantly takes me right back.

Ugh sorry about the kids next to your room. Annoying!

You guys get so much more amenities than DVC members! Lucky haha! We only get shampoo, conditioner, body wash and if you're lucky, body lotion. And I definitely miss the turndown service and them cleaning up after my mess:snooty:

Jiko looks fabulous! We always talk about returning since our trip in 2010 but never make the time, even though our home resort is AKV. Embarrassing  What a cool meet with Chef Jon too!

You could have eyelashes like the giraffe...it may set you back $60 every few weeks but they'll be gorgeous!:lmao:

Love the dinosaur photos! 3 times in a row is great! Okay so random and something probably I would only notice. So I was laughing at the third picture of Dinosaur because the guys in the back cracked me up. Then when I went to read your Y&Y review, you can see one of them creepily looking your way when holding up your pina colada! :rotfl2: Why

You get 100 points and a virtual high five :wave2: (that's me high-fiving you , not waving) for saying something in the voice of Nacho Libre!

On a serious note, I want to say thank you to your DS for serving our country and a thanks to you for being a strong mother and for supporting him in his choice to serve.:goodvibes:hug:

My goodness you've had so many DIS meets! That's awesome :thumbsup2 The next time we're at DLR, we should definitely meet up!

Omgosh seriously. The Tusker House buffet is ridiculously filled with food. We too had a reservation there one year (maybe 2008?) and canceled it. I should definitely check it out sometime.

Hi there Woth! I'm glad to see you are reading along and thank you for commenting! :goodvibes

Isn't it great when you can combine a love of Disney with family visits? Usually HM closes early September to have the overlay in place a few weeks later so you'd have to visit later in September through early January to see the Nightmare Before Christmas. I love your Christmaween term.

Thanks again for commenting and I wish you the best for your Disney run event in a couple weeks! :thumbsup2

Hi Brenda! I need to go get all caught up. I love reading the trips with you and Em. They remind me so much of myself and daughter Morghan. :goodvibes

Yay i'm officially caught up now!

Wow! You get one of these for doing that >>>:dancer: He's rarely used in my TRs!! Great job!

The music on the bus to the AKL - HEART!:cloud9: I was watching the videos last night and it was loud and DH asked, "Animal Kingdom?"::yes:: I have that music on my iTunes and love all AKL music and it instantly takes me right back.

There's such a strong association with memories and sound bytes. I love those memories that make you smile. I am that way about the Celebrate You song for the parade. Gets me every time. Good thing I wear sunglasses at MK.

Ugh sorry about the kids next to your room. Annoying!

We showed them!! We changed rooms. :upsidedow

I noticed that even among the deluxe rooms or the villas the amenities changed. Odd but I was excited to see toothbrushes once.

I like your trade off of Mousekeeping for years of DVC enjoyment!! Definitely you have me beat on that one.

Jiko looks fabulous! We always talk about returning since our trip in 2010 but never make the time, even though our home resort is AKV. Embarrassing  What a cool meet with Chef Jon too!

I remember your dining review from that trip. Yours was one of the first reviews that I followed every single post because it was so compelling! Honestly, I'm a huge fan of yours. Just sad that I only popped in from time to time on your more current reviews and updates. But I do remember seeing your progress and measurements when you were pregnant with Calvin and thinking, gosh, wish I looked that good!! One day, I'm sure you will make it back to Jiko!

You could have eyelashes like the giraffe...it may set you back $60 every few weeks but they'll be gorgeous!:lmao:

Ha ha! I suppose I could but people may mistake me for a dancer or something!

Love the dinosaur photos! 3 times in a row is great! Okay so random and something probably I would only notice. Then when I went to read your Y&Y review, you can see one of them creepily looking your way when holding up your pina colada! :rotfl2: Why

Your powers of observation are amazing! I went back to look and I think you are right. How do you notice that? You probably did great at the "what picture doesn't belong" in magazines when you were little. That's pretty amazing. You would be a good proof reader!

You get 100 points and a virtual high five :wave2: (that's me high-fiving you , not waving) for saying something in the voice of Nacho Libre!

Love Nacho! "my life is good... real good."

On a serious note, I want to say thank you to your DS for serving our country and a thanks to you for being a strong mother and for supporting him in his choice to serve.:goodvibes:hug:

Awwww thank you so much! I appreciate those kind words. I'm just one of countless moms that have had to say good bye and pray for a safe return.

My goodness you've had so many DIS meets! That's awesome :thumbsup2 The next time we're at DLR, we should definitely meet up!

I would absolutely love that! You and your family are so adorable. :goodvibes

Omgosh seriously. The Tusker House buffet is ridiculously filled with food. We too had a reservation there one year (maybe 2008?) and canceled it. I should definitely check it out sometime.

I was a serial canceller for TH but now that I'm on the other side of it, it is easier to return since I know how good it was.

Thanks again for catching up and all of your kind comments. It only took me most of the day between working and popping in and out of the Disboards to reply. ;)

Finally caught up!

Jill in CO

Hi Jill! I'm glad you are still here and reading along. :goodvibes

Hi Brenda! I need to go get all caught up. I love reading the trips with you and Em. They remind me so much of myself and daughter Morghan. :goodvibes

Hi Kelli! I'm so glad that you are here! :) I was enjoying following along with your mother/daughter TR. Looks like you may have another trip to plan for next October!

Yep, I haven't had a bad Dismeet yet!! I sure hope the people I've met say the same thing.
I am sure they do.

And how do Avatar's fit into the AK theme? Seriously, I really don't know. I will have to reserve judgment on that one. Maybe I should start by seeing the movie.
Definitely see the movie, it is about to become a big part of AK. I have seen it over 40 times. The movie was about the environment and preserving it but man comes along and ruins and destroys it. It fits perfectly in. The concept art had me drooling. I think it would have been better by Rafiki’s and have some kind of transport take you there.

Too bad about the cruise but it seemed to work out.
Congrats on the thread.
Love the Tusker House pics. Great that Kathy and Mark met you.
Lobster nachos sound delicious.
All caught up.

I am sure they do.

Hi Scott. I hope all is well. Wow! You've seen Avatar more times than I've ever washed my car! Funny thing is that was one of the first movies we got on Blue Ray and I still haven't see it.

Yeah, plan B for the cruise was just fine.
Thank you!
Lovely and fun people they are.
Mmmmmm lobster, cheese and tortilla chips = pretty delish!
Thanks for catching up.

BTW: I need to really pay attention to what day correlates to your PTR plans since I need to fit in a drink with you in Dec. I know you'll be at US before Disney. :)

We've had a crazy week, so I'm just now getting to comment on your latest updates! But, glad to be caught up again!!

First of all, oh my goodness, Tusker House breakfast looks wonderful! We ate there for the first time last month and LOVED it! We had lunch instead of breakfast and it was amazing! It's definitely worth a return, but now, I'm not sure if it should be for lunch or breakfast!! Hmmm :scratchin

And what a fantastic Dismeet with Kathy and Mark! It's great you all were able to get that picture with Donald together!

Glad you enjoyed your breakfast!!

Another fun Disneyland Dismeet as well! It looks like everyone had a great day! :)

Hey there TM! Glad you are caught up but in a minute you will have some more reading to do!

I can imagine that lunch would just as huge a selection of food at TH. You'll never leave hungry, that's for sure!

Meeting Kathy was pretty wonderful and I'm glad we have several photos to document it! :)

DL with Dispals is always a good thing! :thumbsup2

Thanks for getting caught up! I must do the same.

Monday August 19, 2013: Day 4, Part 2

Following our Tusker House breakfast we wanted to catch a show – we weren’t picky; however, I did prefer to see FotLK. Monkey men in tights somehow gets my attention. We grabbed a times guide and saw that Finding Nemo the Musical was starting shortly. The added bonus of seeing Finding Nemo was A/C!!!! While the waffles and krispy kreme donuts triggered a massive load of insulin in my pancreas I could sink into a post breakfast daze while being entertained by singing puppeteers.

While heading that direction we ran into Mr. Devine. Not sure of his name but he had a cool palm frond mask. What happens if he has to sneeze or hiccup? I’m sure there’s a plan if he needs to go potty. I can’t be the only one that has ever thought of that.

We took the time to pose for the photopass photographer on the back side of the tree of life. I honestly don’t remember ever going through that area on the other side of the ToL. Seriously, I need to explore this park more.

DSCN4257.jpg

When we finally arrived at Finding Nemo, the couple that were seated next to us at breakfast sat next to us right before the show started. We were being followed!!

And here’s my collection of no-flash photos of the show.

And what other show in all of WDW ends with BUBBLES??

I may prefer FotLK because who can resist acrobatic monkey men in tights; however, the Nemo show is so well done.

We hadn’t done any character meet and greets yet but by “we” I meant “I”. Em wasn’t interested in meeting Pooh and friends at the Character Spot. No problem, I went solo. Although there was practically no line there were practically no characters – it was only Pooh and Tigger. Where’s Eeyore? Pooh was huggable but he almost knocked me over when we went in for the twosome pose.

Photo0065FourBySix.jpg

And then…. My FAVORITE character… T-I-double gh - urr! Tigger!! Sorry Mickey, you are classy and all but Tigger is the bounciest bundle of fun! He tangoed with me! How cool is that? Do you get twirled in a Tango? Perhaps we just free styled and made it up but whatever it was, it was playful and fun! Em completely missed out on the fun.

Leaving the character spot and walking back up the incline I noticed a lady in a scooter that was not moving. She grabbed the rope that separated the coming and going guests and started to try and pull herself up to the top. Apparently her scooter had run out of power going back up the hill. I offered to give her a push, which she had no choice but to accept since she wasn’t going to be able to pull herself all the way up. It was a long walk but good deed done I didn’t want to just leave her sitting there stranded. I stayed with her while she looked for her phone. She was able to get in touch with someone to come help her. I felt bad leaving her there but she said help was on the way.

Em was waiting for me nearby and we decided that we would leave the park before the next thunderstorm rolled through. But first, a quick stop in the gift shop. Em bought an adorable Minnie tee and a scarf. While the cashier was helping us he was talking to Em. He said that she was polite and quiet. She is rather soft spoke and she is polite so I guess he got that right but we were amused with his observation nonetheless!

This shirt makes an appearance a time or two:

And one more photopass photo before exiting.

We’ve done that pose before but let’s reprise it here:
Photo0074FourBySix.jpg

When we reaching the shelter of the bus stop it started to rain. Aha!! This time we made it out ahead of the rain. See? No surveys so we stayed dry. There must be a connection.

DSCN4387.jpg

Back at the resort we stopped by the lounge for a snack. For photos of the CL offering, here’s the link to my dining review. While we were up there I conferred with the CL Cast Member about availability for re-booking the Illuminations cruise for any of our 10 remaining nights. The last night we were to be at WDW they had a boat available. It would mean that we would have to give up our ‘Ohana dinner. Darn! I’ll give up the ukulele gal and the skewers of meat this time. We were booked with a only a credit card hold and a promise that I would cancel at least 24 hrs in advance or I would find a charge on my cc statement for the full cruise amount. And for those interested to know there are DVC and AP discounts available. (I believe it was a 20% discount.)

Hi Brenda!

I love the pictures of you dancing with Tigger, you look like you're having such a great time!

I'm glad you were able to rebook the fireworks cruise although it meant that you had to miss 'Ohana and the Ukelele Gal lol

Fun pics with tigger! The character landing area is one of my favorite things at AK. I only wish they would take turns with eeyore and piglet.

I have to admit if given the choice between the memo show or fotlk I would choose fotlk every time! I just adore that show. It may even be my favorite stage show at WDW.

Glad you managed to make it to the bus before it rained that time. Did you just run right by the survey people?

Sent from my iPad using DISBoards

What a great update!

I have yet to see the Nemo show - it is on our must do list for the next trip - I promise. Like you - I am drawn to FOLK - and we usually have to choose one or the other.

Loved your meet n' greet with Tigger - how fun!

Awesome - no surveys means no rain for you! And I am super happy you were able to rebook your fireworks cruise - that's awesome!
