We are making our second trip down to Disney the last week of Feb and I am looking to book a character meal for us. Kids are 8 and 4. Last year we did chef Mickeys for breakfast and it was great. Want to try something different this year so looking for suggestions on where to go. Want to do something that is either at the parks or a monorail ride to. My kids will want to see the classic characters (they are not into poo or Disney jr)

appreciate the suggestions

Thanks

Breakfast at Ohanas at the Poly is our favourite character meal. The characters are Mickey, Pluto, Lilo and Stitch. The food is served family style and is delicious.

We loved our breakfast at the Crystal Palace inside MK (put I'm partial to Tigger!) The food was good and the character interaction was great!!

Tusker House is a great choice. The food was good and the character interaction was fun

OUR WDW CHARACTER MEAL RANKINGS, JULY 2013:

Best Food (quality first, then variety):
. . . Tusker House
. . . 1900 Park Fare
. . . Ohana
. . . Garden Grill
. . . Garden Grove
. . . Akershus Royal Banquet
. . . Cape May Café
. . . Hollywood & Vine
. . . Crystal Palace
. . . Cinderella Royal Table (since new menu)
. . . Chef Mickey's

Best Character Interaction (time with guest first, then friendliness):
. . . Tusker House
. . . Akershus Royal Banquet
. . . 1900 Park Fare
. . . Garden Grill
. . . Ohana
. . . Garden Grove
. . . 1900 Park Fare
. . . Chef Mickey's
. . . Cape May Café
. . . Hollywood & Vine
. . . Cinderella Royal Table
. . . Crystal Palace (barely enough time for a photo)

Best Atmosphere (surroundings and ambiance):
. . . Cinderella Royal Table
. . . Tusker House
. . . Akershus Royal Banquet
. . . Ohana
. . . 1900 Park Fare
. . . Garden Grill
. . . Crystal Palace
. . . Hollywood & Vine
. . . Cape May Café
. . . Garden Grove
. . . Chef Mickey's

NOTE: Results are listed from best to worst. Overall, Tusker House
wins due to best food and the length of time the characters stay at
each table. A close second is 1900 Park Fare. By far, Chef Mickey's
is the loser, due to mediocre character interaction and almost terrible
food quality. The very distant second worst is Cinderella Royal Table,
due to the brief time at tables for characters and the new menu

NOTE2: Characters
. . . 1900 Breakfast: Alice, Mad Hatter, Mary Poppins, Pooh & friends
. . . 1900 Dinner: Cinderella, Prince Charming, Lady Tremaine, Step Sisters
. . . Akershus Banquet : Belle, Snow White, Aurora, Jasmine
. . . Cape May Café : Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Goofy
. . . Chef Mickey : Mickey, Minnie, Chip-n-Dale, Goofy
. . . Cinderella Royal Table: Cinderella (downstairs), Ariel, Aurora, Snow White; maybe Belle, Jasmine
. . . Crystal Palace : Pooh, Tigger, Eeyore, Piglet
. . . Hollywood and Vine : Disney Junior Characters
. . . Ohana : LILO, Stitch, Mickey, Pluto
. . . Tusker House : Donald (outside, only), Mickey, Goofy, Daisy

My vote would be for tusker house as well. We went for breakfast and the buffet was great. We saw Donald out front before we entered the restaurant for a picture and daisy, goofy, and mickey came to the table:)

We ate at Tusker House at AK recently and really enjoyed it.

100% agree. Was our favorite this past trip. Good food. Lots of time with characters. We are not huge Pooh fans either, but Crystal Palace was also a favorite for breakfast.

We liked Ohana because they bring the food to you, more relaxing than trying to get food and watch for characters coming around.

Tusker House was our favorite for breakfast!

We liked 1900 Park Fare at Grand FL as well.

Alice & Wonderland, Mary Poppins & I think Pooh for breakfast & Cinderella, step-sisters & Prince Charming for dinner. Both were buffet and were very good and were a great break from the MK without a long "commute".

:)

We have always enjoyed the character meal at Ohana's for breakfast. The food is good and the character interaction has always been outstanding.

We love Ohana! We always go there each trip for breakfast.

This year we're adding Cape May Cafe as well. I can't resist meeting Minnie in her beachwear :thumbsup2

We love Tusker House for breakfast. We LOVE the tater tots on the buffet and the rest of the food is yummy - to us, it is the best breakfast food in WDW! Also great character interaction with Donald, Daisy (although I have heard she is sometimes swapped out for Minnie), Mickey, and Goofy.

Also when it is time for the characters to go on break, they first invite all the kids to dance around the restaurant with the characters. That part can be loud but kids seem to like it - we don't have kids, I am just making a general observation of what we saw.

What are your guys thoughts on Cinderella's Royal Table for breakfast? My wife has always wanted to see inside the castle and my DD4 is obsessed with princesses. My DS8 and I would be along for the ride

It's a lot of money to spend for breakfast. However, you are paying for the experience, not just the eggs. I recommend it, if you haven't done it before. Really love the Little ceremony they have when th children wave their swords/wands and make a wish. Honestly, I've enjoyed most character breakfasts - Ohana, 1900 PF. Crystal Palace, Cape May, Tusker House, Akershus. (Chef Mickey was my least favorite.)

We decided to book our breakfast at Tusker house for our trip the last week in Feb. cant wait. We went to Chef Mickey's last year and DD4 and DS8 absolutely loved it.

You won't be disappointed in Tusker House! The food is very good and there's more a variety, out of the ordinary things. And donuts! It seemed much more relaxed as far as the amount of time you get to spend with the characters than Chef Mickey. And loved the Jambo Juice!!! Definitely a good choice.
