Maybe I'll book for my kids and husband and my inlaws, but leave me out. I won't mind if they don't let me in. I can find a seat by the pool. I'm booking it for them anyway (kids for shade, grandparents for comfy seats, and husband for possible football game viewing on tv. :) And because I know he's always dreamed of getting a cabana somewhere. )

On our pool day we have breakfast reservations at kona...would we be inappropriate if girls in suits with cover ups and boys in trunks with tee shirt?

First visit to poly :)

I personally wouldn't wear swim suits to Kona - it's a nice sit down restaurant (it's not super fancy, but not so casual that I would wear swim suits & cover-ups)

I have to agree with you. Swim suits and cover ups are fine for Capt. Coos but I would not wear them to Kona.

Our family is staying in 3 rooms at the Poly from 11/14-11/22. I did a lot of research, but still have a few questions!

1) My mom will be renting a scooter and wants to request the Fiji Longhouse for the view of the marina. Does the boat for the MK load close to Figi? How long would it take if she gets on the Monorail at the GCH and takes it to the TTC to go places?

2) We booked with AAA (which I would never do again). Is it best for the AAA agent to enter the room requests or is there a way I could call and do it myself so I know it's done? Any advice appreciated since my Mom really wants Fiji.

3) We also would like to request the other 2 rooms in Samoa to be close to the pool. One room with a 4 year old and one with a 2 year old. Is it better to be on the 1st or 3rd floor with smaller kids? Do the balcony/patio rooms all have a stick to put in the slider door so we don't have to worry about the kids opening the door at night?

4) Are you allowed to have items stored a day or two in advance from Garden Grocer? Do they store it for you and then when you check in, you carry all the items to the room?

Thanks!

Hey guys! I was considering staying at the poly for a few nights for my stay in January, but i'm concerned with the construction. What are your opinions??

I was looking at a week in October 2014, but if the volcano pool is gone / out of commission, we are going to look elsewhere  We may actually just end up at POR. I initially though CR, but it's kinda plain. Let us know what you decide!

Thanks! Most likely it will be 2 nights at either AK or one of the mods (i can't decide! Haha) and then 4 nights at WL.

Aloha Everyone!

With all of the ongoing changes around the resort, and the fact that my business is keeping me pretty busy these days, I don't feel that I am doing right by this thread anymore.

As much as I really hate to do this, I think it's getting to be time that I pass the tiki-torch on to someone else.

If you think that you are able to keep on top of the thread, please PM me, don't reply in this thread, and we'll discuss how to go about the transition and try to get it accomplished by the time another thread needs to be started.

I'm willing to transfer all of my photos over to you, or I could continue to host them on my servers and set you up with an FTP account so that you don't have to worry about a limited traffic/photo views account elsewhere.

Mahalo!
Rob

What are laundry options at poly? We are CL if that matters.

From post #9 of this thread.

Laundry and Dry Cleaning
Laundry bags and lists are located in the closet of each room. Call Housekeeping before 9:00 AM for pickup and your laundry will be returned after 7:00 PM. The resort also offers coin-operated washers and dryers, with a vending machine for detergent in a small laundromat next to the Neverland Club.
