YES, touring Cinderella’s Dream Suite was Amazing!+14 Other Magical Days* Dismeet & Wrap

Way to Go Brenda. Love your reports.

I only wish I would have discovered them sooner. Your TR's are addicting and make it hard to close the browser... you just have to have a little more. :thumbsup2

Woo hoo! :cool1: Congrats on earning top TR! It is a pretty awesome TR indeed! Looking forward to more!

Congratulations Brenda!! How exciting. Thanks for the shout out... Kudos to you for that wow.

Great updates..I did that survey last time too...eesh never ending questions. Blah about the rain lol
My parenting is the same very over protective.. You never know right?

Nice pics of your family with your son home yay!!!

Congratulations Brenda for your trip report being named "Thread of the Month" by the DISboards podcast!

And thanks to Rob for posting the link. I've never taken the time to watch a podcast before but I watched 3/4 of this one until they got to the top ten.

Brenda, your personality and writing style just draw me into following your posts. Besides being informative you are just zany enough (I mean that in a good way) to make your reports so much fun to read.

On a side note, why can't Disney make a Magic Band in a color similar to these last two paragraphs?

Aww thank you for that Kathy!!! :goodvibes Your post also made me think of 2 things...

1) Of course I HIGHLY encourage everyone to watch the whole thing because the Podcast team are great! But if you're pressed for time, the Top Ten countdown starts around the 38 minute mark. I also edited my original post for that purpose and also to mention that I believe that this is indeed the OFFICIAL Thread Of The Month due to Jess' report being considered in a class all its own.

2) YES!!!!! I want purple Magic Bands too!!!!!

Awww, congrats!! What a sweet thank you post!

And, enjoy your son - thank you to him and your family.

Congrats Brenda! Love reading your reports. You always have such a great time. Makes me smile. :goodvibes

Congrats on the #2 thread! I'm going to have to start listening (?) watching(?) the podcasts now! As if I needed another reason to spend more time on the dis...

And what a great post you wrote to us readers! I feel so honored to have made your list. But you deserve all the recognition for your fun reports!

Not only is Brenda a great trip report writer, she is also a GREAT DIS friend.

Brenda and her husband sent my husband and I a gift which arrived today (we lost our beloved dog last week after 15-1/2 years) to cheer us up.

There were lots more of these in the box.

Brenda, I knew when we met in August that you were someone special. Thank you for being a friend and thank you and Michael for your thoughtfulness in giving Mark and I a reason to smile.

First, I was so happy to read your son is home safely and you're having some great family time together! :goodvibes

Second, CONGRATULATIONS on having the #2 thread for September!!!!! A very well deserved honour indeed. :thumbsup2 I love your writing style and it's obvious a great many others do too. Way to go my Dis friend!! :flower3:

Brenda, congratulations!! I have enjoyed reading your TRs! Hopefully one of these days I too will get to have a DISmeet with you. Perhaps there's another conference I can scope out that's taking place in Southern California? :thumbsup2

And thank you for the shout out! :goodvibes

Amazing, but not unexpected. Congratulations Brenda! We all love your reports because you tell a fantastic story, but also because you're such a genuinely good, kind person. Case in point -- using your new title and turning it back to your readers. :goodvibes: thank you for the shout out :)

Congratulations on being one of the top threads for September! It is a very well earned honor. :goodvibes

12. Wood Nymph (I know but I'll let her share if she chooses) Because I hogged so many posts on page 1, I'm including Wood Nymph in my final shout out. She had the distinction of being the trivia winner from my last TR!

Thank you for including me in your list. I really wasn't trying to win the stickers. But when it turned out that my grandson just happened to be having his 4th birthday around the same time, I thought we could make more than one person happy. When the stickers arrived I realized the 3-D stickers were much too nice to just hand him the package. He probably would have stuck them to a piece of paper or lost them or something. So I bought a plastic storage box that was deep enough for an assortment of important kid stuff and it turned out really cute.

Here is the happy recipient of Brenda's generosity.

:thanks:

She will also be in WDW while Emmy and I are there in December and perhaps our paths will cross!
I really wish we were staying one more day, since I would have loved to meet you and Em. Unfortunately, I think the best we could do is pass each other at the airport. :sad1:

You're not planning a trip in March by any chance? ;) We will be back to WDW then.

Way to go Brenda! You so deserve this honour...we all love your trip reports and look forward to all your updates:hug: Shanleigh is a lurker on your report (she never posts LOL) and she said to me the other day there that you just seem so "genuine, warm and real....I had to second that!

First let me say thanks for the shout out! I felt so special! LOL! :) and congrats!!! That's amazing, I've missed a couple of podcast so I am behind but again congrats. I am so happy to you get to spend time with your son. Thank you for sharing that, it warmed my heart.

Thank you guys!

WOW!!! This is just so awesome Brenda!!! Congratulations!!! I honestly never knew there was such a thing! Cool!

D~

D~: If there was an award for the most random Dismeets per trip you would win! And pretty soon all the ladies will be toting your bags in the parks so you'll have an army of D~'s bag ladies!! :thumbsup2

That's awesome Brenda! Congratulations! Thanks for the shout out I feel special!

Thanks to you for making this happen. :goodvibes

That is awesome, Brenda. I told you that you were the queen of popularity!

What a nice tribute you did to your readers, and thanks for the shout-out to my TR.

I can't wait to see you again in December (and Mark's already volunteered to be our photographer!).

Thanks Kathy! I have a long way to go to be KatMark!! You are my Dis IDOL!! I'm excited about December as well!!

Woo hoo! Your TRs are always a fun read, so I'm not at all surprised this thread was #2 for Sept!!

Thanks Kylie!

OK, just WOW.

This has to be one of the most amazing posts I've ever read and truly shows how much you appreciate all your readers and followers. To take the time to write this up... there are just no words. And I may steal that idea.

Obviously I sincerely :thanks: for your kind words for me.
I confess that I may have just sat on the TR main page hitting refresh over and over knowing this would show up at some point just to get in first. :rolleyes1 Yeah, it's a bit obsessive, but hey, I got to be the first on the #2 THREAD IN ALL OF DISBOARDS. No pain, no gain.

The fact that you are so supportive of so many TR's shows that you are a real DIS superstar, which makes this achievement all the more deserved. I can't wait to meet you in December!!!

Thank you for the kind words Rob! And thank you for hitting the refresh button a few times! :)

That's so awesome! And to reply to your reply about two trips for next year we are hoping we can pull it off or at least one for next year and then for the next year within the amount of time we have for the annual passes. I'm hoping that if we do get the AP's then we can plan for short quick trips there. We only live roughly 8 hrs from WDW and honestly won't take that long if we don't drink anything either! Haha. Can't wait to read more!

Hi Charlotte! Those APs sure mess with your vacation planning - now that's all you'll want to do. ;) I'm busting out laughing picturing you shaving 20 minutes off your drive down by the no drinks allowed rule! Makes sense to me.

Well, you brought me out of lurkdom. I read all of your reports and enjoy them a lot, since I have a 17 year old daughter and hope one day to enjoy the kind of trips that you and Emmy do together. Right now DH always insists on tagging along! You truly seem like a genuinely kind person and the world could use more of those. Thanks for sharing your experiences with all of us!

Hi Sj&k! I'm so glad that you are reading AND commenting. Seriously, thank you! Thank you for your kind comments.

That's nice that your DH wants to accompany the ladies to WDW. You could do an afternoon tea with your DD and see if your DH still wants to tag along. :rotfl2:

thank you again for commenting. :goodvibes

Brenda you are a legend!
What an awesome and heartfelt post
Can't wait to meet up in December.

Thank you Linda and I am definitely looking forward to seeing you in December as well.

I hear ya! Next, ladies will be asking Disney to add some sparkle and bling to their MBs.

Congrats on being named top thread, it's very well deserved :yay:

Not Brenda but I so agree, I'd love a purple band.

Thank you Jo!

CONGRATULATIONS BRENDA!!!

Smiley overload. It had to happen.

I have loved getting to "know" you and Em through your TRs, and you have been so sweet to me and all the other readers of this TR, so you deserve all the praise in the world. I definitely made a good choice in joining in the fun.

Thank you Jill! I listen to the podcasts occasionally but they usually play in the background while I'm doing other things so how much I pay attention is questionable. :)

And some more Thanks to you all!

Thanks Wood Nymph!! You did a great job with the stickers that is a cute idea you had. And your win was well deserved, fantastic job!

No worries about Dec, hopefully we'll run into each other another time. You are the 4th or 5th Diser I know who will be there in March. Right now I'm planning on April and waiting to see what other dates fall into place. :)

Monday August 19, 2013: Day 4, Part 1

We were up and off to AK park for the second day in a room – unprecedented for us!! This was an exciting morning since we were not only eating at Tusker House (new to us since we bailed on the last 3 ADRs there) but we had a Dismeet planned with Kathy (KatMark)!!

Some photos from the morning before heading out the door:
DSCN4063.jpg

DSCN4074.jpg

We stopped by the lounge while breakfast was out to get some water but we didn't grab any food:

DSCN4097.jpg

The morning started off well since we walked up to the bus stop just when an AK bus arrived. Arriving at the front of the park, Em decided she wasn't as excited about seeing this sign as me. How many places tell you to have a wild time and not charge you extra?

DSCN4120.jpg

But she did jump in on this one.. not thinking she's into this photo thing this early. You would think that I'd take a hint like, "no mom, really, you can take a photo without me!"

DSCN4123.jpg

We get up to the entry and then…. our Magic Bands failed! We had to pull out our APs so that they could be scanned for admission. This didn’t take long so it wasn’t really a problem. However, we had to book it to Africa for our 10:15am breakfast reservation.

Not so fast.... there's a photopass photographer waiting with no one in line:

Photo0053FourBySix.jpg

And with my camera:
DSCN4131.jpg

Since Kathy is ahead of me in her TR (see here) and I've already posted my Tusker House dining review, some may have already read about it and seen our photos… but from my perspective….I have to share that it was a complete pleasure and honor to meet her and her husband Mark.

We planned to meet between our breakfast reservations at Tusker House so we would catch them after they were done eating and before we were seated. While standing in line to get our photo with Safari Donald I had missed Kathy’s text. Just when I was pulling my phone out to check for a text she and Mark walked up. Oh my gosh! Instantaneous Diser Admiration for this sweet lady!! Mark was just as funny as I imagined! What a pair these two make. If you are privileged enough to meet them you are in for a treat!

We all posed with Donald since I really wanted a character photo with all four of us.

Exhibit A:
Photo0059FourBySix.jpg

Kathy and Mark took some time to accompany us to our table since she came bearing gifts. We posed for a couple more photos at our table and then we were presented with some fabulous Disney swag that was Chicago themed. Em was given a Chicago vinylmation and I am the proud owner of a Mickey keychain. It was very thoughtful and generous of her! We agreed that we’d try to meet up again during the course of the week and with that we hugged good-bye and parted ways.

Kathy and Mark - together they are KatMark!

You can read my dining review here and part 2 here but I have to ask, does Disney have a bigger breakfast buffet anywhere in WDW than Tusker House – Donald’s Safari Breakfast ??

I'm glad that we finally kept an ADR for this place!
