TS choices: Boma breakfast or Yak & Yeti lunch?

Our AK day we can't decide on an ADR. Should we trek over to AKL for Boma for breakfast buffet or do Yak & Yeti for sit down lunch. We haven't done either yet and are open to different foods. We are staying at AOA so if we choose Boma, we have the choice to take a cab straight to AKL or take the bus to AK, then another bus to AKL, right? Thanks for any input!

I am a big fan of breakfast. :) I haven't been to Yak & Yeti, but I don't think there is a better breakfast option than Boma. I absolutely love breakfast there!

Tough choice because we LOVE both! Y&Y at least once for us every trip! We probably do Boma every other trip, so guess I wouldn't give up my Y&Y for Boma, but the buffet is excellent.

Everytime I eat at Yak and Yati I always feel like it wasn't worth the price. Most of the things you get at Yak and Yati can be found around Quick Service stations. Coming from a place, like NYC, which has great chinese and Asian inspired restaurants Yak and Yati doesnt come close. It is about avergae. I've been there about four times in the past three years, to keep an open-mind, but everytime I leave it always the same-sub-par.
However, the decor is phenominal...!

On the other hand, Boma is about the greatest place you can eat. If you are looking for a unique and interesting meal go there. it is fantastic!!! the food is delicious and you wont find it anywhere.

The Kobe burger at Yak and Yeti is awesome!!! WE loved it in July and I already made ressie for our Dec trip. My DH has said that the burger has literally ruined every other burger he has had since! Boma was where we had breakfast when we stayed at the AKL. IT was good, but Y&Y was great.

I would say it depends on how much you want to eat for a price lol. Both are great resturant!
Would Boma be at an hour before the park opens?
If it is not I would suggest a lunch at Yak & Yeti, great food, atmosphere & we had great service!! It's a nice change from a lot of the other food!

Both :cool1: Boma's breakfast is very good, fill up your tummies, then explore AK to your hearts content before eating a late lunch at Yak and Yeti :cool1: Gee, I was alot of help, wasn't I :rotfl2:

I like them both, can you tell?

We have been to both, and I gotta pick Boma. Y&Y was average...
Have to agree with SunshinesOrangeBirds, post.

That's a tough choice, but I think in the end I'd go with Boma for breakfast. That's my favorite breakfast venue at WDW; they have mostly traditional American breakfast items, but a few items do have an African twist. Plus, the frunch juice is awesome.

I like Yak & Yeti and given the limited number of TS options at AK, it's a good choice if you're looking for a TS at AK. I wish it had better dessert options, but other than that, the entrees have all been pretty good. It's also a nice place to rest and relax in some air conditioning if it happens to be hot and/or humid outside.

In terms of getting to Boma from AOA...yes, you can either take a taxi directly (fastest) or take a bus to AK (or actually any park, but AK is likely to be the fastest) and then another bus to AKL.

Thanks, everybody! We decided on doing both, lol! Will do Boma for early breakfast and Yak & Yeti for late QS lunch instead of scheduled ADR TS lunch. Getting excited to sample both restaurants!

It's worth noting that the Yak & Yeti TS and QS are two different venues. Given that Yak & Yeti TS has an all day menu, you might consider giving it a try for a late lunch/dinner.

As the PP stated, Y&Y TS and CS are different, the CS area is simply a walk up area to order food and outdoor seating if I remember correctly. I have only done TS but I have looked at the menu for the CS location and its rather limited in my opinion, at least it is for me as I am limited in my likes ;) and dislikes when I dine. If you are on a Disney DP and have limited TS credits to use, it might be worth it to price out a meal paying OOP at the TS location, its really not as expensive as some of Disney's restaurants.

i love both.:woohoo: if you want breakfast food you can not beat boma. if you are in for the animal kingdom experience, yak & yeti is out of this world. excellent food and the atmosphere is right in line with the park. but the food is not african. i love it.:thumbsup2 be sure to ride the kali river rapids while in asia.;)

Boma def would be my pick. Yak and Yeti just OK, Boma, exceptional IMO.

Boma! Don't doubt me. We were there last year (AKL) and had breakfast every morning there, I could not get enough of the scrambled eggs with goat cheese, the chef even made it for me one morning when I couldn't find it. And that juice, once my son tried it, it was on the menu every morning.
