This is our first trip to WDW, it will be two adults. We currently have the play stay dine package booked at port Orleans riverside. But I want to make sure this is the best deal. (Biggest problem is that we are eating at two signature restaurants) so the dining plan won't be as simple and straight forward.

Ok so this is what I priced out, I think room only might be a better deal unless there are other fees they dont show you until the end (when do they apply the tax?!)

Port Orleans riverside plus 4 day base ticket is 1293.16 king bed

Port orleans riverside Same room with same ticket and dining plan is 1794.40

That's a 500 dollar difference.

I'm also considering wilderness lodge which is 1568.20 with base ticket (no dining plan)

I'm a total wdw newbie! Help!!!

How long is your trip? I know you stated a 4 day ticket but how many nights are you staying? With the DDP you will only get one sit down meal per night so if you have two signature restaurants you just took up 4 of your table service meals.

The DDP can be nice for first timers since you will have everything taken care of but booking the two signature restaurants means you would likely have some OOP food expenses. Have you looked at the menus at the restaurants? Gotten an idea of what you would order there? It might help you do the math on if the $500 is worth it.

In regards to resorts, I think you will be completely satisfied with POR. WL is absolutely beautiful but for the first time trip I think you would be better off putting the extra money towards the DDP.

We will be there 4 nights. I think I may give disneua call jut to make sure I got the best "deal" price out a room only reservation and then go from there. With the dining plan and the signature restaurants, we will still have to pay at least 100 each our of pocket for our meals I'm thinking... Unless we can work some meals out a little different.

The difference you are paying with the SPD deal is 500 for 4 nights.
The dining plan for 2 adults for 4 nights is 469.00 So you are actually paying more than what the dining plan is worth with the SPD deal than your room only ressie. (Am I making sense? LOL)

Considering you are doing 2 signature dinners, IMO I think you are probably better out of pocket since you would have to use 2 credits for each signature dinner, which probably isn't the best value. Checking the menus and figuring out approx. cost is best to decide what's right for you.
