Hi All, Well I just booked our Sept. 2014 trip and of course I book the CR. I got a CL TPV room again for next year, as we loved it so much. So could we please be added to the list. Sept.12 thru 21. Thanks and so looking forward to staying at CR again.

Laura

Hi all. We're a couple of adult dessertaholics, who will be at the CR Tower Club for 9 nights in November, 2013. It's the first time, for us, staying at this location (as we've been at the Poly and GF Club Levels in the past). We're wondering about the dessert selection at night in the Tower Club lounge, so if anyone can let us know what is offered, that would be great. Cupcakes, rice krispie treats, anything chocolate? (We're also hoping for cinnamon rolls at breakfast, but that's another story!)
When we're at Disney, we splurge, both financially and calorie-wise!
Thanks for your information, and best wishes to all!

KOOK - you know that change you made for me from CR to BLT? Can you remove it all together :( it was for Jan 4-6. Thanks a million!!!

I just found some pictures of the standard rooms from the 14th floor from 2008.

now, 5 years later, have these rooms been refurbished?
when looking at the floor plan, the king rooms are smaller? Is that correct?
The room rehab was just completed this summer and I don't know what the exact square footage is of a Tower Club King/Queen room Vs. an Atrium Club room.

Hey everyone!

I have been lurking here for a while and would love to join if you would have me!

I've just booked my first Disney trip and I am SOOOOO EXCITED!!

We booked 6 nights (4/5 - 4/11) at the Contemporary, Atrium Club Level with a Theme Park View! This will be my first time down there and I am bringing the hubby and two munchkins (2 and 4) too!

Have I mentioned I'm excited?? :cheer2::cheer2:
Great to have you with us and welcome! If this is your very first WDW trip, then you are starting out at the top! Have fun planning your trip and ADRs and let us know if you have any questions. I'll add you to our Log-orail.

Congratulations, Laura! I'll add you and happy planning to you, too:)

:welcome: to the DIS and the CR/BLT thread!

Supposedly, the Tower Club offerings are the same as Atrium Club which definitely offers mini chocolate desserts such as mousse and cakes and cookies during snack time in the afternoon. We're staying in June/July so I will post photos then. I don't recall ever seeing Riced Krispie Treats at any CL where I've stayed, but I do know for sure that every morning the Old Faithful Club at WL has mini cinnamon rolls, but I can't recall if CR does.

HERE is a video of the lounge and a couple of Atrium Club dessert photos from the first page:

:sad1:Oh, no! Remove it? I just updated the Log-orail and saw your BLT dates. So CR is out (again), too? I'll remove you, but know that I'm very happy to add you back anytime:wave2:

Is the splash pad at CR usually working? I have visited the CR several times and the splash pad is never working when I go. Is that normal? :confused3

We stayed club level in Sept. and I think they had cinnamon rolls once or twice, though they were the smaller (more flat) types, although still great.

The desserts were awesome! Several different ones to choose from each night, and they would all be different each day.

As of today only 14 days to stay at Bay lake Towers. One of my dreams as a kids was to stay at the Contemporary resort, we were too poor as kids. But changed my mind and staying a Bay Lake because of having a one bedroom with 2 bathrooms and washer and dryer in our room. So excited:cool1::cool1::yay::yay::yay:

My story is the same except I have 62 days to wait! :)

KOOK.....sorry to post this, but can you remove us from the log? We had to do some major changes to our upcoming trip that involved moving our cruise to next year as well as changing our resort stay(s). CR is our first choice for before our cruise in December 2014, but I haven't booked yet. I will post those dates when we've finalized things. We are booked for March, but not at the CR as it wasn't available for our dates :(.....but I might keep checking just in case something opens up. If I do change, I will post so we can be added back to the log :goodvibes.

Oh, no! You've been planning your Christmas stay and cruise for a long time. I know you were excited about trying the Atrium Club and staying at CR for the first time, but CR will be here for a future visit;). Are you staying SL or RPC in March? Will this be a spring break trip with your boys?

Babyberger you too?? Have you changed resorts, or are you rescheduling your vacation?

My coworker arrives to the CR on Thursday!! She is really, truly hoping the monorail is up and running all day. When she called, a CM thought it would be. Thank goodness for that walkway, because she has young ones that need a mid day break.

I am 2 weeks away from my 45-day payoff. So, so, so excited.

I'm doing a surprise trip for my twins. pixiedust: They have no idea. I got a little nervous when I was telling them about my coworker's trip because my son instantly said "Why are they staying there (CR)? They should stay at the Polynesian". YIKES!! So, I mentioned the monorail running through the building, and Chef Mickey being right there, and he said that maybe the little boy would enjoy it at CR too. I hope so! Luckily my kids are very good at enjoying the blessings offered them, and aren't really complainers.

And boy am I glad I changed to the tower when the winter special came out, so they can pop out of their rooms and see the monorail.

We're staying at the CR 3/31-4/5 in 2014. We're three adults and two kids (5&6). I've tried to search the thread, but does anyone have any pictures of what the daybeds look like in use? I'm trying to see if I can fit both of my kids in there or if they'll be sleeping on the floor/taking turns on the daybed. We'll already have sleeping bags for them since they sleep on the floor at my ILs in Ft Myers.

This is likely our last visit to Disney, at least for a few years, so we wanted to stay deluxe!

I am a little disappointed, but I'm glad it's just a postponement and not a total cancel. Yes, the CR will be there for a future visit and I have it pegged for December 2014 :thumbsup2. We are currently booked RPC in a deluxe room (no standard RPC rooms were available under the discount), but I may still keep trying to get the CR. It is a family trip with the boys during spring break time.

Your trip sounds awesome......your boys will be so surprised and I'm sure they'll love it :thumbsup2. The CR's theme has never really appealed to me, but I do love how the monorail goes through and Chef Mickeys is one of our favorites, so it's only fitting that we try it on one of our trips ::yes::. Congrats on getting the tower with the discount :wizard:.

I can't answer about the daybed, but wanted to say yay for booking the CR :yay:. You are going to love staying deluxe (although it does get you hooked and it's hard to stay anything else ;)).

We stayed at BLT in a standard view studio room 7209 (2nd floor) for 7 nights in September. While we really enjoyed the resort, I don't think we'll be back. Nothing went wrong, it was a lovely stay, just other resorts appeal to us more (thank goodness there's so many resorts to choose from!).

FWIW, I loved the jazz/contemporary music playing in the courtyard, the pool area was nice (although, I'm not a big fan of resorts doing activities/games for hours on end with blaring PA systems. It was like that the 3 days we stayed at Wyndham Bonnet Creek too. I mean, there's usually only 3-5 kids playing so I'm sure they can all hear you and people love pools. You don't need to entice them), the pool bar and fire pit area was lovely, I spent a small fortune in Fantasia Market (they really have such a wide variety of stuff! I got sick the last 2 days of the trip and they had everything I needed), and I really enjoyed the gift shops and Contempo Café (the turkey sandwich was *delicious*) . I'm so glad we tried BLT!

Here's some pictures of the room/view:

My two wishes for this resort would be that they would add boat transportation to the MK and bus transportation to Epcot. I understand why they don't, but the monorail was super crowded and the walk wasn't very pleasant to MK during the day(heavy traffic and bus fumes and sewage/trash smells consistently at one point along the sidewalk) and the monorail took us forever to get back to our room from EPCOT in the evenings (we timed the 1st one at 1 hour and 5 minutes and the second night was 1 hour and 20 minutes from the time we got to the monorail platform in EPCOT until we crossed through the doors of the skyway at BLT. Like I said, none of this was enough to make us feel badly about the resort or ruined our day/trip (Lord knows, we've had our share of Disney transportation issues at almost every resort), just two wishes I had :). I'd stay in a cardboard box and be happy at Disney.

Oh, and has anyone else had an issue with the water pressure/shower head? We had to finagle the lever to try and slow down the water 'cause it was almost painful (especially to sensitive areas!). I thought it was possibly just our shower until my parents said they had the same issue in their room the next day. Do we just have sensitive skin? :upsidedow

Okay ladies, I posted this as a thread, but thought I would ask here also.

As stated before we are CR CL TPV for our first Disney trip. I have two small kids and booked the TPV b/c I thought that they would love the fireworks from the room and the overall view. Now that I really stop to think about it, I am worried that we are spending a lot ($6,300 w/o flights) for a room that we really aren't going to be able to use. So my question is should we change to a different deluxe ( I was thinking WL) or is this something that we would regret?

Thank you in advance from a Disney novice!

Okay, this is just my opinion; but when our kids were small, they really didn't care what resort we stayed at, let alone what view we had. All that mattered to them was the resort pool, and being in the parks. That is a large chunk of change you're spending, which after the trip is over, you'll never see again. Something to think about.

Last year we had a villa at BLT with a MK view and to this day the girls (7 and 4) still talk about sitting in the balcony eating popcorn and watching the firework in their jammies. They think the fireworks were just for them. And the adults in the group were just as excited about the castle view as the kiddos. IMO worth every penny! We are staying at CR this year in the hospitality suite with CL but no MK view and I know the girls will be disappointed but we wanted to try something different.
