That's Hubby and I back in 2007 taking a fun pic in front of the castle.
Below you'll find me, the author of this trip report. Like many of you, I am a Disney nut (perhaps fanatic is a kinder word?). This pic is from '09, finally getting to enjoy a ride in the front car of the Monorail (before it was no longer allowed). Observe Disney nerd face. I am proud of said label. I know that in this safe little corner of the internet, a woman in her 30s proudly wearing her Mickey ears will not be the subject of teasing!
Here I am back in the 70's. While others were out disco dancing and growing insane side-burns, I was busy being a Mouseketeer. It was here my 'obsession' with Mickey ears started. Growing up in Los Angeles, I was fortunate to spend much time at Disneyland. While I may live in South Florida now, DL (before it was ever DLR) will always be my home park. Though, I still love WDW, and I'm happy to be only a few hours away!
This dude is my awesome husband of 8+ years. While he enjoys visiting the Disney parks, he is not as uber enthusiastic as me. Still, he has fun, and Disney bring out his more playful side. Now that he has visited with his child (more on that), he professes to enjoy Disney way more. Here he is during our last visit while on the Behind the Seeds walking tour at EPCOT Center.
Pre-child, our last *real* trip to WDW was back in 2009. I was fortunate to go three different times that year with DH, friends, and my mother. DH and I spent a romantic anniversary while at the World.
But during our visit, we both had a nagging feeling inside. Something was missing. I couldn't put my thumb on it until DH said it out loud. While outside The Living Seas at EPCOT, I observed DH staring at a father with his young child in his arms. He looked at me and said, "I'm ready. I want to come back here next time as a dad." It was a sweet moment.
Flash forward to Valentine's Day 2010. I stared down at a pregnancy test telling me our lives were forever to change. Cupid sure gave us one heck of a gift that day!
As the weeks of my pregnancy sailed by, we realized we were going to be parents. We were happy, we were freaked out!
Before Halloween 2010, I gave birth to a beautiful little girl. We brought her home to her nursery, fittingly decorated with Shag's 50th Disneyland prints. My friend went to Disneyland and got us some infant ears for little Miss J. A future Dis'er was born!
Here's my little Mouseketeer at 7 months old. She wasn't in the best of moods when I took this pic, but I still love it. She now treasures that stuffed Mickey.
And here's a pic from when she was nearly 2 years old. She sure loves her ears.
A SEASONAL TR? Why?
Confession time. I had started a PTR back last fall. It was in preparation to our first major trip back to WDW with our 2 year old during the holidays. To be honest, I was in a bit of a funk after returning (the post-vacation blues) and just slacked on my PTR. For my previous readers, please forgive me?
However, as we had AP this past year, I was fortunate to make a trip each season so far since December. So I thought this would be a perfect time to share photos and stories before we go on our last WDW vacation this year.
So here's a breakdown of my TR coming and the PTR that awaits!
