Disney's Magical Express -- Luggage Tag Info

Hey thanks goofy4tink...that puts my mind at ease we did get that book and its right where you said...thanks again

Our ME booklets came today. There were two booklets that have to be mailed to 3 different people so I will have to copy one booklet before I mail them off to our guests in DC, Ohio and NY but that I can do.

My question is whose name is suppose to be on the luggage tags? They all appear to have my name on them. I am the lead for both reservations but shouldn't the tags have the individual guests names on them?:confused3

The lead person's name should be on the tag, with the other person's name below it...at least that's how mine have come through.
You should be able to just rip out each person's voucher and mail it to them. I would photocopy the entire page and then mail each person's original voucher to them....with a copy of the booklet.
Are all the guests staying at the same resort? If so, it shouldn't be an issue. Just sort them out when you all get there.

Yes you are right. I needed to look at them closer. All I saw, LOL without my glasses, was my name on all of them!:lmao:

We have a split stay so 2 guests are coming in while we are at the first resort and the third one comes in a few days later when we are at a the next resort. They all three leave from the same resort but at different times.

I think I will rip out the vouchers and then copy the direction part so they all understand what they are to do.

Do they put on another yellow tag on when they leave the resort to go back to MCO or do they get a tag or what ever when they check in at the resort ME desk when they are leaving?

Thanks for the quick reply. I have not used the ME for myself in a long time and I can not remember how it worked.:)

Too funny....welcome to the world of old eyes!!!
Anyway.....the yellow tags are used only from the departing home airport to MCO. Once you have the bags in your resort room, remove those tags. When it's time to head to a new resort, just have Bell Services/Luggage Assistance know and they will come and get the bags (or you can bring them down to them) and get them transported to the next resort. No special tags are needed at that time.
For the departure to MCO, you will get a notice in your room the day before you are due to leave. This will give you the specific pickup time for your departing DME bus back to MCO. Then, on the departure day, you can go down to the RAC counter (resort airline checkin), and check your bags right through to your home airport, and get your boarding passes...as long as you are flying home on a 'participating airline'. The counter is open from 5am-1pm..and you need to be completely finished with your checkin no less than 3 hrs prior to departure time. It takes about 15 mins to get checked in...so this means if you have a flight departure of anytime prior to 8:30am, you're not going to be able to use RAC.
No special tags are needed once you are at WDW!

I'm going to assume that each tag lists the correct resort for each guest. You will probably find that those of you starting your stay at one resort and then moving to a new one, may get two sets of luggage tags. I always get two when I'm switching resorts. The only time you are going to use those yellow luggage tags is from your home airport to MCO..not between resorts! Hope that helps a bit.

Great info! That is exactly what I needed to know. Yes old or aging eyes really suck!:crazy2: I am struggling to see at all in dark environments. It is not fun and I find myself making a lot of mistakes like misreading those tags!

Now that you write it, I remember those dreaded ME envelopes on the room door the night before leaving. It was always so sad to get them!

One of our friends has a 6 AM flight out of MCO. We told her she was crazy to schedule it like that as it would mean leaving the resort at 3 AM! I will say my goodbyes the night before!:rotfl2:

Thanks again:thumbsup2

Have you had your eyes checked for cataracts??? I had them in both eyes!! I practically needed a seeing eye friend over at US/IoA a few years ago...kept banging into walls in the dark queues! Finally went to the optomotrist...he said it was either diabetes or cataracts....at the age of 61!!! Both eyes had them. Had the surgery and have almost perfect vision. Do need glasses for reading though!!!

Isn't there a link on WdW's site that I can change my DME info? I can't find it on the My Disney Experience site.

Revised...
Never mind. I could not locate it on the MDE area (clicked everywhere), so I called & they updated it.

You can't make changes online at this time. You'll have to call in: 866.599.0951

I booked DME and then the next day we changed to a different resort. I went back to DME online and couldn't find an edit option, so I submitted my details again and ticked the box to say I'd already submitted details for that flight. In the meantime I had a confirmation email for the original reservation, and then a few days later I received another to say they'd updated the details to the new resort. It didn't show up at all on MDE for a week or so after that.

We just realized I gave Disney the wrong flight number for DME.... the date and airline are correct on the voucher. Its just the flight number that is wrong. We are leaving Wednesday at 6:45am. Will they still be able to claim our luggage??? We do have the yellow tags.
Thanks!!

The inbound flight information isn't as important (or not important at all). Bags with yellow tags will be routed to your resort.

You do want to make sure they have your correct outbound flight number as that determines your resort pickup time.

sorry if this was already asked... so much to go through! But it wasn't on the sticky front page. I received my booklet with room info and fancy tags but it did not have any ME tags/info. Could it come in a separate mailing? We are 29 days out and I was just wondering if this is fine and normal or if I should be calling to double check.

I can't seem to find the answer anywhere. If you have a flight with a layover with 2 different flight numbers, which one do you use for Magical Express? The first flight or the flight where you actually arrive at MCO?

You use the airline and flight number arriving at MCO.

I haven't taken mde in years so I need some help with something.

we are taking the train and my daughter is flying in to meet us but after numerous reminders she still left her mde voucher at school. Does she need it?

Yes, I do believe the ME info is still sent separately.

No. They'll print her a new one at the desk.
