YES, touring Cinderella’s Dream Suite was Amazing!+14 Other Magical Days* Dismeet & Wrap

The breakfast after your safari looks great (from both perspectives, here and the dining review!) Eddy sounds great, how awesome that you make such great friends wherever you go! (Loved the excitement in the video, including the laugh!)
Uuuugh, I am not a fan of Primeval Whirl. Primeval hurl is definitely more like it.
I adore the theming on EE, they really did do an amazing job on it.
Woohoo! Way to ride Dinosaur 3x in a row!
I have read about your yak &yeti meal and your dessert had me drooling! :D

CAUGHT UP!!! You go away for 3 days and it takes the same amount of time to catch up on everything! The main thing being Sleep!

I had a great time with you and Michael! A fabulous evening!! Can't wait to spend more time with you and Em in December!

I love your Photopass Pics from AK! I've been so undecided on getting Photopass+ for next week. I think I just need to bite the bullet and do it!

Hi Courtney! Thanks! I hear ya about eating. Gotta keep me on a schedule!

BTW: I was looking at some of my photos today and I thought I spied your family in one of my photos but then I looked at your travel dates and it couldn't be. Psyched me out for a minute until I went to your TR to confirm that you could not have been in MK on 8/30.

Nope, I was home packing for college on 8/30, though that would have been fantastic if I ended up in the background of one of your pictures! :cool2:

Aw, I like all of the pictures! So cute! Dinosaur 3 times in a row?! Wow! My brother rode that once & it broke down right by Mr. T. At random, the Dino roared & apparently scared the bejesus outta everyone.

I will be on a MISSION to get a picture with the frame in March! I haven't ever seen that before!

Hi Wendy! Thanks, breakfast was actually very nice even if the banana foster French toast wasn't as stellar as I imagined. Eddy was completely awesome!

Primeval hurl is for those with better gastric stamina than me! After 3 times on Dinosaur it was time for those awesome egg rolls and wontons. :)

Hi Paula! I was really good to see you too. Thanks again for getting together with us. We look forward to meeting Hunter in Dec and of course getting back together for more fun and adventures. Hey, it will be the first time that we will have seen you at WDW. It's always been at DL.

You only need to "purchase" a few ride photos or dining photo packages to more than make up the difference in getting the PP+. :)

It could happen! You never know. It's happened before with one of my dining reviews. Exhibit A

Thanks Jennifer! Yikes! That would be the best spot to break down if you loved the ride and a horrible place if you were already wanting to get out of there!

I will be on a MISSION to get a picture with the frame in March! I haven't ever seen that before!

They have them in MK by Crystal Palace as well. And DHS has them on Hollywood Blvd. Not sure where they are in Epcot. :confused3

Hi littlenellbell! Welcome to my TR!! I'm so glad that you are out of lurkdom!! :) Thank you for the kind comment.

Oh my GOSH!!!! Do you have a TR so I can read about your experience? I have a thousand questions.... how, when, what was it like, did you cry??? WOW!!! That is seriously amazing!!

I won a sweepstakes through Delta Vacations....as you can imagine, it was AMAZING!! And yes, of course I cried! LOL I've never done a trip report, although I've read a bunch of them. However, this time I plan to do one. I hope to get started this week. Be on the look out for "Boo To You and The Castle Suite Too!"

The best thing about a must do list is that it can be changed!

Loving the idea of a things that roar at you list.

I really need to go check out your dining reviews...if I can ever get caught up on everyone's regular threads. I want to hear about the breakfast after the safari for sure! Very cute frame pics, I saw those on FB and had never seen that done before at WDW (AK or other) and it's super fun though I :rotfl2: at the "let me show you my armpit" comment.

I don't think Em is a normal teen girl. She never seems to sulk, not smile or be texting.

What did you do to her???

I love it.

I've only ever rode Primeval Whirl once before ...... NEVER AGAIN !!!!!!
Fab pictures around AK, I love the picture frame shots, haven't seem them before so have to try and get that shot in December :)
You got some very cool photos on EE

Add me to the list of one-timers on Primeval Whirl. NEVER again!!

I didn't find primeval whirl too vomit inducing, but rather too jerky! My neck hurt after!

The hippo pics were great.
You got some great safari pics.

Thanks I am feeling better. Food poisoning. Yuck!
I have something to someone once. It is a pet peeve of mine. Why ruin it for the others? That is my question.
I do love COP.
I was actually behind. LOL

OMG! All 3 lions were awake. You had the best safari.
Looked like a nice Dismeet.
But we do know it all now because you just told us. But I will read the dining tr too. LOL
I personally think they should take away the Dino area for Avatar.
Looks like fun times. I love the T-Rex shirt to clap your hands. LOL
All caught up again.

Really not sure how I missed your last update. I kept thinking it said 10/2. Doh!

Breakfast sounds fun, but your morning in the parks sounds better and remarkably similar to my AK morning in June. I mean - you gotta start with the front row of EE and take pictures - right?

You got some great PP pictures. My favorite picture of you is in the car. Too cute! I do like the picture frame photos too. When did they start doing that.

3 rides on Dinosaur? Love it! That's one of my favorite rides and I usually do multiples even my ride partner agrees.

You got a lot done in AK! How fun!

I do agree that EE is a total home run. It's just a beautiful ride with thrills. It might actually have it all!

I'm so looking your TR up!! That is unbelievable!! :thumbsup2 I'm seriously happy for you since we had a taste of what that would be like but we could only "dream" of actually staying there! :)

Hi Cynthia! Apparently I was confusing Chester and Hester's Dino-Rama and Dino-land in general. Oops!

No worries... between planning your next trip for what 50 people it seems and traveling to Hawaii on business and pleasure, I'm sure you are maxed out!!!

Every once in a while Em has a moment and I think, there's that typical teen! ;) Honestly though she's always been the quiet, compliant, responsible, always does her homework without being told type of kid. (Opposite of my boys mind you so I suppose she just balances things out.)

I've only ever rode Primeval Whirl once before ...... NEVER AGAIN !!!!!!

Hi Linda! I hear ya. I don't think that ride's going to be on my list anytime soon.

Grab a frame, grab Phillip and smile!

I love your report! I cannot wait to hear more :)

Thanks! You are very kind. :)

Add me to the list of one-timers on Primeval Whirl. NEVER again!!

Hi there YCFan!! Ha ha! It's pretty whirly!! :thumbsup2

I didn't find primeval whirl too vomit inducing, but rather too jerky! My neck hurt after!

Hi maddie!! Glad you are joining in. :goodvibes Perhaps they need to hand out neck braces with the fast passes. :p

The hippo pics were great.

Glad you are feeling better Scott. I know you had a doozy of a time. Yikes!

Ahh a fellow CoP pal!! Whenever I see it I want a 1920's kitchen but then think yeah, not sure I want to pump water!

Yep, I haven't had a bad Dismeet yet!! I sure hope the people I've met say the same thing. :rotfl:

Why thank you for dropping by the DR as well even when I give it all away.

And how do Avatar's fit into the AK theme? Seriously, I really don't know. I will have to reserve judgment on that one. Maybe I should start by seeing the movie. ;)

Isn't that a great shirt!

Ok, glad to see you caught up. :)

Hi Mary Ellen! I think I didn't update the last update so you wouldn't have known I'd updated. My D'oh!

See, you know it. Front row = unobstructed views of the Yeti and all the action. :thumbsup2

Thanks! All we did was stand there, the photographer did all the work!! :rotfl2: I'm not sure how long they've had those frames. They weren't there in March but DisneyKid3life had photos with them in April so go figure.

By the 3rd time on Dinosaur I wanted to shout out to Mrs. Huxtable that Dr. Seeker needs his time travel access to be revoked!!

You got a lot done in AK! How fun!

I do agree that EE is a total home run. It's just a beautiful ride with thrills. It might actually have it all!

Isn't it! And the view at the end of the tracks is pretty spectacular! :)

Sunday August 18, 2013: Day 3, Part 5

Here's where we left off.... we were having lunch at Yak & Yeti.

DSCN3938.jpg

Following lunch we debated seeing FotLK but figured we’d come back tomorrow to do that. We were full and sluggish so a little down time back at the hotel sounded good. We left around 3:30 after a few photopass photos.

Photo0045FourBySix.jpg

Our scary pose wasn't too convincing!
Photo0046FourBySix.jpg

At the exit I was recruited to complete a survey regarding our dining experience at AK park. Sure, I’ll give my opinion. It was about this time that we noticed that it was going to rain and it was going to rain hard. I accelerated the pace of answering the questions at which point the questions just started to get silly.

For example: What made you rate Y&Y Table Service a 9 instead of higher in the recommendation to a friend or colleague category? Really, 9 isn’t good enough. My response: Come on, they weren’t perfect.

Next silly question: What made the quality of the food or beverage excellent?
My response: Well, the cherry in the pina colada was a nice touch!

Next, What made the taste of your meal excellent?
My response: The ingreeeeedientttsss (said like Nacho Libre)

And the last silly question: Why did you not use a Disney Dining Plan on this visit?
My response: Tables in Wonderland trumps any dining plan.

Then they just got personal and wanted to know my age. I lied.

DSCN3965.jpg

Because I took the time to give my valued opinion to Disney I was rewarded with the skies opening up and drenching us on the way to the bus stop. Big sigh. If I had just said “no, thank you” and kept walking we would not have been standing at the bus stop soaking wet. It proceeded to pour all the way back to AKL.

DSCN3966.jpg

We stopped at the front desk to get our new room assignment, room 4423. Our old keys worked for the new room which was on an end with the same arusha view on the other side of the zebra trail section of the building.

DSCN3976.jpg

Gee, that room pretty much looks like the other room, just a reverse floor plan. This one with a dresser instead of a connecting door and a dry carpet!

I called bell service to retrieve our bags while Em went to the lounge to bring me a cold drink. I didn’t know she had done this until I saw her walking back into the room with a Diet Coke. She never drinks soda so I knew that wasn’t for her. However, she pointed out that I’d not had caffeine all day so she thought I could use a little pick me up. How thoughtful! Or perhaps I was a grump and she wanted to caffeine me up??

Once the bags arrived we cleaned up for dinner then took a taxi to the Yacht Club where we had a Dismeet dinner and some post dinner plans.

Dinner was at Captain’s Grille with DonaldDoleWhip and his mom. We had a great reunion of sorts since it had been a year since our paths had crossed at WDW. An added bonus was meeting Mr. DDW’s sweet mom. My dining review here contains all the details about the food and additional photos.

As an added bonus, I’m reprising a few of the photos here as well including some from our Dismeet last year.

Following dinner, the 4 of us had plans to meet up with Diser Vicki (GoofySon’smom) and her son Andrew for the Illuminations cruise. You know that rain that I mentioned earlier, it didn’t go away. In fact, it caused our cruise to be cancelled since they didn’t think it was a good idea to take the boat out with lightening in the area. Heck, that would have made for a pretty good show but we went with Plan B instead which included drinks at the Ale & Compass lounge at YC.

null-10831.jpg

We settled into the empty lounge and ordered our drinks which included a couple sangrias, a habanero margarita and my new favorite, a pina colava! We enjoyed spending 2+ hours chatting and getting caught up. Besides meeting Mr. DDW last summer, we also met Vicki, her husband and Andrew. We actually met up twice last summer so I was really excited when I realized that our travel dates overlapped this summer as well.

After we all called it a night and parted ways with our Dis friends, Em decided that she wanted to take a bus to MK for EMH. I was beat so I took a taxi back to AKL and let my baby have some solo time. Despite Em being 18 in 5 months I was a bit apprehensive about having her go off on her own so late at night. We are the parents that never allowed her to sign herself out of the kids club on the cruises, or walk solo to friends’ houses, or go off on her own … yep, those overprotective parents. So this was a little beyond my comfort zone but she was inside the Disney bubble right?

When I got back to the room I sent Em a few texts to make sure all was well, checked in with my hubby, and crashed!! Em made it back to the room at 1:50am but I barely remember more than looking at the clock and rolling back over going back to sleep.

My you are busy with updates today! Surely it's way beyond bed time for you ;) Another great DIS meet, it's making me very excited for our December DIS meet plans :)

What a fantastic update Brenda...

In all of our trips to WDW, we have yet to eat at Y&Y... The girls always want to, but they can't sacrafice a breakfast at Tusker House for it yet. LOL

ACK! I forgot to mention that darned survey in my TR too - we were blindsided by that one, as well... Alli actually took it, and they assured us it was "quick"... Bahahaha... 20 minutes later and both of us answering the questions much the same way you did - they really did get rediculous after a while. And such a bummer that you two were soaking wet afterwards... At least you were on your way back to the resort and not back by KRR...

I love your new room! It looks so awesome... and thankfully - it's not wet this time.

Yay for Dismeets!!! WDW is the best when you have a Dismeet (or two or three) planned! And repeat Dismeets are even better! It looks like you all had a fantastic time, what a bummer about your cruise being cancelled, but it looks like you enjoyed your evening anyways.

I know exactly what you mean about being the over protective parent - that would be me too... I do let the girls go to different rides in WDW by themselves - and I have even let them go as far as coming to the park a bit later... It happened once with Alli on our first girls trip and once on this last trip... And I am a total wreck the whole time... Even though - they just hop on a bus to MK and meet me inside - I am still stalking her by text constantly. DH tells me that I am way too over protective - but these are the most important people in my life... It's my instinct to be that way. LOL Very relieved for you that Em made it back to the resort safely.

As always - great update!!

D~

Brenda I love, love, love your updates from this trip. I have booked our Disney trip for the AKL CL next June and was very apprehensive about doing so. I left the choice up to my DD (16) and this is the resort she wanted. Your pictures and the views from the balcony are helping to make me less reserved about our stay there. :)

As for the Dis meet; it is a highlight of any trip to WDW. I remember the meet I attended my last visit in August 2010 (Geez, it's been way too long) at Captain Cooks in the Poly, and we had such a blast. I notice DDW had the same shirt from last years meet on. I wonder if he planned it that way?
