Mugs are good for length of stay and they can also be used at any resort.
Just got back from a split stay at BLT & BWV and we even used it when we visited AKV for the afternoon. Coffee, Tea and Hot Chocolate are not RFID (yet), only the Soda machine.

I just s/w DVC 800# and was advised the new mug use time period is from 12:00 am - 11:59 pm if you are not on a DP. If on the DP it expires when your DP expires.

This is our first time with a dining plan. I understand we get mugs, do we have to pay for the length of stay to use them or is that including with dining plan?

Will be staying at Coronado Springs in 2 weeks and have DP with refillable mugs. I have never used the mugs before. My question is can you refill your mug at any time or are there certain hours the refill stations are open? Also, does anyone know where the refill stations are located at CS?

The main refill station at Coronado Springs is at the Pepper Market which is open from about 7am to 11pm, you can also fill your mugs at the main pool bar during opening hours (11am to 5pm).

We just got back from WDW and going back in Feb. Does anyone know if i can bring my mug back and have it re-activated? or do i have to buy a new one?

What about same year? We were there in Jan. and going back in Nov. can we use the same mug?

Under the old system the rules were that your mug was good for the length of stay. You weren't supposed to bring back a mug from a previous visit.

With the new RFID chip system, your old mug won't physically work with the new soda dispensers. You'll need a new mug with a chip in it in order to get soda to dispense. So if you did bring a mug from January 2013 it wouldn't work, but you're not supposed to bring it anyway. :)

Now, once you have an RFID mug, supposedly you can bring back an old mug and have that chip reactivated for your new stay. But, the word is you're going to pay the same price for that reactivation as you would for buying a brand new mug, so it'd be up to you whether it's worth carrying an old mug back to WDW or just to get a brand new mug for the same price.

They will reactivate your old mug for the same price as a new one. I had resort stays several weeks apart and was charged the same price as if I had taken a new mug.

I contacted guest services and was told that is how it is being done. Why bother bringing back an old mug?

The main refill station is not the Pepper Market, but Cafe Rix which is next door to the Pepper Market. Cafe Rix is open till midnight. The Pepper Market will refill it for you if you are having a meal there.

I think we need a new updated THE ONE AND ONLY REFILLABLE MUG FAQ AND QUESTIONS thread. The first post hasn't been updated since 2010, a lot of things have changed.
