Chance of scoring CC cabana for first time cruise?

Late March/early April. I've read it's next to impossible. Do bookings begin at midnight when they open up?

Midnight eastern time, so that's 9 p.m. if you're on the west coast.

The platinum cruisers (those who have cruised at least ten times) get to book several weeks before the newbies, which makes it difficult for even the gold cruisers (who have sailed a minimum of five times with DCL) to score a cabana. But even after they're all booked, if you keep checking, sometimes someone will cancel a reservation.

Slim to none unless you luck out. Or book concierge to get first access.

On the popular cruise dates even platinum are shut out of cabana bookings by concierge who can start making reservations at 150 days if they are PIF.

How many concierge staterooms are there? Perspiring minds wanna know. I assume there's more of them on the Fantasy and Dream than on the Magic and Wonder.

At my count there are 22 concierge rooms on the classic ships and 41 on the Dream class ships. That may be a little off (those charts are tiny y'all.) but it's close.
ETA currently there are 20 cabanas between the family beach and Serenity Bay, but I believe I saw somewhere that more are under construction but now I can't find the thread. Does anyone know anything about those?

Not everyone who cruises concierge wants a cabana though. We had no desire for one.

Yeah, I know, but it helps to have an idea.

So a platinum person on the Magic or Wonder would have a much better chance of getting a cabana than they would on the Dream or the Fantasy.

Taking into account the fact that not all concierge guests are aware of the early booking and not all want a cabana, then yes if platinum on the classics logs in right at the window opening at 120 days they would have a better chance of getting a cabana at that time than on the new ships. They are still going up against every other platinum who wants one though.

Last two cruises (Gold on Wonder in March 2013 and Platinum on Fantasy for December 2013), I have not seen a family cabana available ever and I checked at my earliest booking time and almost daily to see if something comes available. I did see serenity bay cabanas come available a few times.

I snagged one for our first cruse back in June. It was on Serenity Bay however. I checked several times a day for more than a month and found one. It does happen, you just have to get lucky and be looking when someone else cancels.

We were concierge on the Dream in Sept and did not book a cabana early. While onboard our concierge told us a family cabana was available so at the last minute we took it. The crazy part is we were in #16 and #17 was vacant! I would recommend asking once onboard. You never know when there may be a cancellation.
