Magic: November 1, 2013 5 night Western

If you email them they will work with you. I would probably go with 9:45 though - by the time you get to the tender and get into port! We did this on the Fantasy and I think we were in later and left earlier than the Magic is doing.

Also, depending on how few people there are that have booked direct they will probably let you choose the return time. They did so with us.

Yes, I will make a spreadsheet with all of that info tomorrow or the next day and get it to those that are participating. We have had 5 kids added since the last count - two 5 yo boys, 9 yo boy, 14 yo girl, 13 yo boy.

I am excited about the number of 12-14 year olds we have! :yay: Most of our cruises have been more 10 and under kids. Not that we don't love the little ones! But, our 13 turning 14 on the cruise grandson will have lots of company. I was thinking he would not based on past experience. Fun times for all!! :dance3:
I'm not participating in the Fe, but I have a 13 year old son that will be aboard the Magic!
 
I'm sitting here crossing my fingers, praying, meditating, hoping.... That the govt won't shut down and stop my family's passports from processing. The only good news is that I bought trip insurance (which I never do) because I was worried about all this being last minute including the flights. My kids will be so disappointed if this falls through. Sheesh- forget the kids, I'll be disappointed!
 
this group is the lucky group to be the first to sail the newly re-imagined magic with the itinerary b schedule. That being said, i'm cruising on the next itinerary b schedule on 11/15. Would anyone consider sharing their personal navigators when the cruise ends? I know it would be tough to share quickly but it would surely help us with planning/packing and i'd be very grateful! The only good news is that I bought trip insurance (which I never do) because I was worried about all this being last minute including the flights. My kids will be so disappointed if this falls through. Sheesh- forget the kids, I'll be disappointed!

This will be my 11th cruise and I've never had a passport. As long as you are leaving and entering back into the US from the same port and you have a valid driver's license and birth certificate for everyone in your party, you don't NEED a passport. Of course, if something happens in one of the ports and you get stuck there, you will need a passport to get home. So if you don't get your passports in time, I wouldn't panic.

I was reading last night what will and will not be shutting down. Passports will continue to be processed. Hopefully you will be fine.

This will be my 11th cruise and I've never had a passport. As long as you are leaving and entering back into the US from the same port and you have a valid driver's license and birth certificate for everyone in your party, you don't NEED a passport. Of course, if something happens in one of the ports and you get stuck there, you will need a passport to get home. So if you don't get your passports in time, I wouldn't panic.

We did not get passports until we were doing the Panama Canal (not closed loop so we had to have them). And if something happens in one of the ports you WILL be able to get home. It just takes a little paperwork and some money. You will not have to spend the rest of your life in Grand Cayman....but, then that might not be too bad either.:scratchin

The problem I would see now is that the birth certificates have probably been sent in with the passport application. But, as I read last night, passports and visa applications will continue being processed.

Do you have raised seal birth certificates? If not you have time to get them from your county clerks office (or the county you were born in rather)

You can sail with those

I did hear that normal passports would be processed but no on the expedited ones

Thanks! Now I just have to get more birth certs for the kiddos because I sent them off with the passports! At least that is only a drive downtown!

I'm going to make a guess here that they will not be accepting anymore expedited orders right now, but I'm sure they won't set those aside and not work on what is already in process.

Now to figure out how to get this to all of the FE participants. I have the info in an excel document. I think the easiest way to send it is via email as an attachment. Collecting everyone's email might be another chore, but I would be happy to do that. Or if some computer thinking folks (I'm almost computer illiterate!):surfweb: have any ideas let me know. Looking for ideas....with instructions! :lmao:
