IT WORKED !!! Thank you SO SO much PERSHING ... now i will keep it up with all of you :banana:

We are slowing down on our last cruise's facebook page. The biggest post lately was who rebooked and when. :)

We also had a private mixology class that was HUGE and pretty raucous, frankly.

I'd be up for that again. Although, maybe I'm wrong but I don't think this cruise is gonna book up much more. Nobody wants to go to Miami when the Magic is sailing back to PC the next day.

I am on a roll with that + sign instruction :yay::yay: Another family for our FE group. I will have them set up an account on the website and introduce them to all this. They are a family of 4, Dubois family DW,DH, DD (12), DD (14).

I have been resisting the FE thing this time since our trip is a surprise and I don't want the kiddos to know I am up to anything but as you all know resistance is futile so...

SIGN ME UP!!!

:rotfl2:

I just called Disney to find out if brunch will be offered on the cruise. I was expecting that the answer would be no since there is no sea day. The castmember said that the ship will have brunch on the port days and that when our window opens in a couple of weeks we can book it.

Super cool!! The Key West Day would be a good day since we arrive at 11 am.:thumbsup2

Yeah, No  They fibbed. Gold Castaway Member here and no Palo Brunch at least available for prior reservations. I checked in at 12:01 am last night and looked for it.

Maybe they will offer it on the ship, but that's not usual how it goes. Or maybe those pesky Platinum Members booked it all up! (and Concierge)

Yeah, more people. Will add today!

:darth:Yes! Resistance is futile.....I will assimilate you when I add barbeaujo's friends to the list.

Hey, at least you know there won't be a ton of people to put stuff together for. I'm in the same position, hiding stuff. Although boys don't notice much around them.

I booked the Dolphin Encounter at Blue Lagoon. We've never done it before and I want a beach experience since there is no Castaway Cay. :worried: It leaves at 7:45 AM!!!!! Probably since we are leaving port at 2:45. No meandering on the Blue Lagoon beach this time around!

We are silver club members and I think that the only thing I was going to book was the Brunch. Too bad!

We don't do Palo for dinner
No shore excursions this time
No spa stuff in advance.
No nursery time

Is there anything else to book or do I have it covered.

I am sad about no Brunch!! I will keep my fingers crossed that maybe it will be there when we board.

So sorry I bummed you out! We don't do Palo anymore either. It's hard to do it when you can remember not paying any surcharge for it! :rolleyes1 At all!

Yeah, and it does pay to wait and book spa stuff and get a nice discount advertized in the Navigator. Especially offers on the first day!

After a week in the parks during Chistmas week, I can see myself needing a Stone Massage!:cloud9:

I'm even having second thoughts about the Blue Lagoon Dolphin Encounter. I really just want a beach day so maybe I'll just drop the dolphins.

We were in Nassau in August and just walked over to the British Colonial Hilton. It was absolutely wonderful. The beach was nice, the food was good and the price was reasonable.

We have done the Sheraton Cable Beach and Cabbage Beach on other trips and really liked the Hilton. We would go there again on a future trip to Nassau.

Hi all!

It's so quiet around here!!!

We just booked flights today... we were going to drive but decided that flying would get us to the fun faster . :rotfl2:

Now off to find a rental car at a good price :rotfl2:

We have a ton of Starwood points and thinking about booking a Sheraton or Westin in Nassau for the day... Is there more than one (I see Cable Beach mentioned) and have looked at Sheraton Nassau Beach & Casino... Any advice would be appreciated!

krazy4cruzing seems to be the Nassau beach expert while I'm doing a total 180 on the whole 'get off the ship at Nassau' thing lately.

I've been busy reading and planning the parks aspect of our vacation and I'm beginning to realize how crazy it's gonna be and how we will need those 3 days on ship to rest and recoup!

Right now I'm reading about Universal Orlando's Unlimited Express passes versus booking an onsite room. I'm thinking about paying a very overpriced night at Hard Rock in order to get the Unlimited Express pass aspect of staying onsite.

I really don't want to be waiting for hours in the Transformer's Ride line!:sad2:

I almost booked airfare a couple of days ago when I received a Southwest email that had great rates for Christmas Day and January, but then I would have to pay for an overpriced car rental and decided after much :scratchin to stick to my guns about driving to Florida. :drive: Sorry krazy4cruzing! I'm glad you're flying but I wish you luck on finding a decent rental. Be sure to check out the December Car Rental Thread on the DIS's Transportation Board 'cause it great for everyone pulling together to find the best deal.

Although, you get all those great Canadian deals so you should be ok.

Part of me really thinks my teenage sons will not have much tolerance for the overcrowded parks anyway and a couple of days at most is going to be all we can handle.

Besides that I'm trying to figure out this whole Magic Band thing, for if I stay on site WDW. That's a whole new learning curve now. Add in that we are used to having a GAC for middle son that has Autism and they've changed the program to something called DAS, and I've got alot of threads to go through.

Wish me luck! :charac2:

Pershing, I have already used MBs with great success and am somewhat versed in the new rules for DAS, so feel free to ask questions, and I will be happy to answer!

We managed to get a decent rental price on our Car thanks to our disfriends and their great codes.

I am not sure about the 2 Sheratons in Nassau (I wonder if they just changed the name), we went to the Sheraton Cable Beach in January 2012 and although the hotel was nice, it was very cold and we spent the day in the hot tub. Drinks were really expensive. I think 1 beer and 1 coke was $12. We found out later that day that there is a store onsite near the casino that sells beer and pop for a fraction of the bar prices (our hot tub visit was a great way to learn about how to save money at the hotel) We paid $25 per adult and half that for the kids. That included use of the pools and a towel. We took the Jitney there for 1.25 per person. That was fun but very authentic so not everyone's cup of tea. You can take a cab there too.

We did the British COlonial Hilton in August and we loved it. I would do that again in a heartbeat. you can walk from the ship, the grounds were beautiful, the drinks and food were included (via a voucher) and the beach was great too. There were kayaks that we used and puttered around the shore for a bit.

Junkanoo is just down from the Hilton and is a public beach. It sounded ok but my mom wanted a more secure place to spend the day so we stayed at the hotel for the day.

This time we will just stay on the ship. This is the shortest cruise we have ever been on and I really want to build some "sea days" into this trip. The main attraction will be the new Aqua dunk slide so I think we may spend most of the day sitting on deck watching the kiddos have fun. I can't wait!!!

I have almost wrecked the surprise about 4 times this week. Thank God our 9 year old tunes me out most of the time. My husband has quickly come to my rescue and changed the subject or distracted him... OMG.... how do people keep a secret? I am too excited about our trip to contain myself. I hope that we can keep it a surprise until the day of the trip! LOL\

Thanks for your feedback on Nassau... since we are doing two "almost" B2B cruises, both stopping in Nassau, we are going to make one of those (likely this one) a "sea day" simply because looking at the website that shows the number of ships in port it anticipates 18,000 people in Nassau, just from cruise ships, that day!!!

I just checked the pricing for our trip and the Verandah rooms are all gone!

Just inside and ocean view left and it appears that the prices have increased slightly.

Interesting

I have not booked yet and check pricing multiple times per day and there are plenty of verandah rooms to choose from for our party of three.... Perhaps it's your number of people?

Oh, and price dropped about five days ago!

Hi all! So glad there is a group meet thread going for this cruise. :cool1:

I will be cruising with (but not rooming with all these people! :crowded:) my brother, my aunt, uncle and four cousins, and my aunt's parents. The fun thing is - - this is a surprise for my cousins that we're coming! My brother and I are heading to WDW for New Years Eve and we didn't think we could make the cruise, too, since at the time we were driving (from Iowa). Well, as luck would have it, Allegiant came out with an AWESOME fare so we're flying, AND the flight doesn't leave Orlando until late afternoon, which gives us plenty of time to get off the boat in Miami and head back up to Orlando before our flight. So it was fate. :cheer2:

We're keeping it a secret from the cousins; they have been asking us to go with them and we said we can't - but they'll be surprised when we show up at their house the night before the cruise!! :dance3: Should be a great surprise.

I confess I haven't read the whole thread yet :scared: but are we doing a FE exchange? I did my first one on the Fantasy this past summer and it was SO fun. I really enjoyed it; it was neat coming back to the room and finding little treasures from everyone. I'm on the fence if I want to do it this time, however, since we're flying and will have limited space for bags but I *might* ship the gifts to our resort at Disney, then drive them down with us. That would work.

Can't wait to get to know everyone!! We had a great group on the Fantasy; it was nice to run into people during the week and have people to visit with. If people are agreeable to this, maybe we could have a quick meet in DLounge or somewhere else on the ship on the first night.

Have a great day, all! :cheer2:

Hi all! So glad there is a group meet thread going for this cruise. :cool1:

:welcome: DWGAL210!

So glad you got the airfare you needed. Apparently, alot of us are 'surprising' people with this cruise. It'll be interesting to see who 'caves' and tells ahead of time. We need to 'fess up if we do!

.....isn't your Aunt's parents your Grand parents or is.....ok, I get it! She's your Aunt by marriage. :scratchin

Yes, we have a small FE group so far. Let me know if you want to join and I'll add you in a jiffy.

We haven't talked about a meet yet. We have talked about a private mixology class though! :drinking1

Interesting

Yep, gigi's right it must be just for parties of 4 people, 'cause I'm seeing the same thing you are: a slight increase, all Verandahs and up gone, and some 9 catagories missing too!

I guess the word got out about the low price of this cruise.

looking at the website that shows the number of ships in port it anticipates 18,000 people in Nassau, just from cruise ships, that day!!!

 Wow, I'm so staying on board now. Forget the beach!

Pershing, I have already used MBs with great success and am somewhat versed in the new rules for DAS, so feel free to ask questions, and I will be happy to answer!

Thanks so much! I read the synopsis on Couponing to Disney website. I guess there'll be special kiosks around the park for DAS and my son will be issued a card with his picture on it. And we will only be able to get one fast pass at a time.

I'm grateful that they still have something after that awful article came out about 'renting' disabled people! Universal has nothing so Disney's not obligated really to do anything.

Did anyone see the pictures of the Magic with her paint scraped off and looking ugly in drydock? My heart just dropped when I was looking at them!
