*2013* epcot food & wine festival 9/27-11/11

You can't load a magic band up with money, I guess you could if you can add the money to your room account and work it that way.

I carry cash, and while the bands are still in testing everyone also gets a KTTW card.

Please don't plan to only have the Magic bands to pay. I have a cast member friend and they have so many problems with these things they have taken to calling them Tragic bands (along with colorful terms they can't say on stage).

Have another payment method as a back up

It's always a good idea to carry a little bit of cash with you no matter what payment form you want to normally use. There have been times when various machines have been down and a booth would only take cash. Not often, and generally not for too long, but it is nice to have a bit of cash with you just in case

I'll be there all day Monday but I'm sure someone will get to the Unibroue before I do, just leave some for me. I don't recall them ever having Fin du Monde on draft, they only have that in bottles in the restaurant (one year they were selling bottles of it at the Craft Beer both). Last year you could grab Trois Pistoles, Blanche du Chambly and Ephemere outside in Canada at the time I went.

I read somewhere earlier this year that Fin du Monde was making it's first ever appearance on draft in the US this year so if Unibroue does make an appearance I'll bet Trois Pistoles gets bumped since Fin is their flagship (WDW probably doesn't want to have more than one 9% alcohol beer on tap I would guess and Chambly and Ephemere being only 5% and cheaper by the keg would stay).

We have run into that too so I agree, having some cash on hand is a good idea.

Even if the booths can process room charges, you can still run into problems. We had an issue last year when we checked in. The systems were down and they could not add room charging privileges for us. They tried to fix it several times but it took two or three days until they got it sorted out. We bought a couple of those little wrist-strap gift cards and used those.

Will anyone be there this weekend that wouldn't mind mailing me a F & W map? :flower3: I know it's available as a PDF but alas, I can't get my printer to work. :badpc:

I would really appreciate it if someone wouldn't mind!

We already have our reservations made at the Waldorf Astoria for October 25,26,27. Anybody have some suggestions, recommendations or advice on what to do or not miss this year at the Epcot Food and Wine Festival! Thanks everyone!

Is is just me, or does the food & drinks (for the most part) seem decently priced? Did they make the servings smaller? My mom's gonna be *TICKED OFF* if they shrank her shrimp taco. Although, I vaguely remember it being around $5.50 last year.

I guess my main concerns are Dessert, Florida, & Hawai'i.

Any thoughts? :-)lmao:I said that like this wasn't a forum. LOL:rotfl:)

No way to know until they start serving. Maybe there will be some reports from the cast preview today.

For anyone interested Touring Plans has a menu app for Android and I assume Apple that lists all the F&W stuff along with all other menus. It is pretty fast. I subscribe to TP and have the Lines app installed too. Just search for Disney World Menus. It's pretty good.

Can someone tell me how long the Eat to the Beat concerts last? Also, are they as strict as they are during the Candlelight Processional about letting people leave during the concert?

Eat to the Beat concerts are 30-45 minutes long and you can get up and leave whenever you want (maybe sit on the end if you think you're going to have to leave)

Tomorrow!

Us too!
already checked in with Airtran
Our first time so super excited!
We just planned on going about a month ago for our anniversary and I was able to get 2 nights at th BW and one at Jambo
I hope that we can make new friends that do this every year

I have left several shows. I always go to one show by any band there when I am there.... And sometimes some of them just do nothing for me. (I always just wander in and sit near the back so it's not like I am climbing over thousands of people :))

Thank you, Ms. Nala.

I remember people asking about the sippy wine mugs. Thought people would want to know that it's on sale on groupon today.

$16.99 for a Vino-2-Go Two-Pack ($25.90 List Price). Multiple Colors Available. Free Shipping and Returns.

A friend of mine visited Epcot today and reported that most of the booths were open and serving all the delicious food for the F&W. Here are some of his reviews.

He enjoyed the Tipsy Duck from China. In fact, he said it was one of his favorite drinks! :thumbsup2

The Seared scallop and tomato ragu with the kaiser xingu black lager was really good. :goodvibes

Ice cream martinis from France! :yay:

Pork sliders paired with the Kona Porter was one his favorites. :thumbsup2

Grey Goose Slush...one of my personal favorites! :cool1: :thumbsup2

Lettuce wrap with kimchee slaw form South Korea was reported as tasty. ::yes::

Habanero Mango Margarita was hit too! :goodvibes

Lemongrrass chicken curry on jasmine rice fromm Singapore was good. :)

Beef Empanada from Argentina was also enjoyed. ::yes::

He sent me pics, but I can't figure out how to post them!

I'm heading to the World this afternoon. I'll be MNSSHP tonight and Food and Wine Sat/Sun. I will be doing a TR with lots of FW reviews and pics and will scan the map and passport for those who want to see them. If anyone has pic requests let me know and I will try to get pics of the food and drinks.
