Park Faire looks so fun!!! I have heard the step sisters are hilarious! I definitely have this on my list of someday "must dos".
Great pictures!
It was a lot of fun - this is one that the girls loved and want to do again.
We ate dinner there in February and it wasn't Asian then. I had the most delicious chicken Marsala ever. Did they have the strawberry soup on the buffet the night you were there?
It looks like you enjoyed the evening very much.
You know - I don't remember the strawberry soup - I didn't even research this meal at all, because it was a last minute addition. Which bums me out - because I would have wanted to try the strawberry soup.
OH MY GOODNESS that Anastasia has the face down PAT! Holy crow that's scary!
Our Anastasia i think also would play Ariel.. She sang for Meg and it was an eye opener how well she was able to sing.
Plus the Lady Tremaine? another scary looking character!
I hope the interactions were good?
Asian food?!?! really?!?! i hope it was good?? this was a dinner right?
and a big dance on not getting stuck on the monorail!!! HOORAY!
Yes, she was a great Anastasia - the interactions were OK - not as good as I expected from their reputations, but we had worse. Lady Tremaine was probably the best. I am still convinced that our interactions suck because the girls are older - if we had a little one with us, at the prime "Disney age" our interactions would be so much different. The dinner was good though, and we would go back.
Thanks!
GF is beautiful but not sure I would stay there. We plan to go see the decorations in Dec and thought about 1900 but not sure the grandson's would like it. My must stay resorts would be Wilderness Lodge and the Poly.
I have to agree - Wilderness Lodge is FOR SURE on my must do list some day... It is so gorgeous!!! Poly is also on my must do list.
Hi, Liz.
It's been a while since I've hijacked a TR (Andrea taught me well) but I think it involves blathering on about MY life.
So, the back story to seeing one of your bags is . . .
My senior son joined me for part of my annual February solo trip to WDW. I splurged and we stayed at the Polynesian for the three nights he was there and then I moved to squatter's quarters at Pop Century.
The BPDE (Best Pixie Dust Ever) was seeing one of your bags, but we had a couple other PDs, too.
1. Got a Be Our Guest reservation at the end of the night when someone canceled AFTER we had already been told no tables.
2. Found my sunglasses at Lost & Found after they went flying off during Space Mountain. (The guy ahead of me in line was getting his wallet back.) They have zillions and zillions of sunglasses. If you ever lose yours at WDW, don't assume they're lost and gone forever. Check out Lost & found!
3. Got a FREE mini eyeglasses repair kit at the Polynesian for my son's sunglasses after he lost a screw,
but the BPDE was getting to see a D~ bag.
Since I expect that you've memorized every word I've ever written, you may recall that my favorite attraction is the castle. I enjoy spending time sitting on the benches around the hub and gazing at the castle, trying to imprint it in my brain so I can recall it when I return to the real world.
So there I was, on a relatively warm February afternoon. (In the interest of full disclosure, I may or may not have been eating a Mickey head ice cream.) I was doing what I do best, staring at the castle and doing some people watching.
I thought I saw one of your bags walk by. It had the distinctive D~ flair to it, but it wasn't UPB shaped, so I thought it must be a knockoff. When I read your current Trip Report I saw that you've branched out from UPBs and are doing more messenger style bags, so I went back and looked through my photos and said to myself, "By, George, it IS one of D~'s bags!"
Like I said, BPDE.
Hahaha.... That is one bag that I would have to pity the person carrying.
Very nice Cheryl and GREAT BPDE!!!!
I have certainly missed your hijacks!
Right?
I have a couple of vintage machines too. Guess I need to get them out and start using them again. I have a 1925 Singer that was the same type of machine that my grandmother had and that I learned to sew on. My grandmother's machine was lost in a flood many years ago. The other one is a 1950s Featherweight, that I love to use for straight stitching and piecing quilt blocks together.
I also have 2 treadle machines - one a Minnesota from about the early 1900s. It was a precursor to the Kenmore brand, and the other is a Singer from about 1920. I haven't actually used either one
You should take them out! I really liked sewing when I was using my "modern" machines (ahem ~ late 80's LOL) - but once I started sewing with my vintage machines, it really took my enjoyment to a whole different level. There is something so fun sewing on a machine that someone created on decades ago... It's very "refreshing".
OMG! Tha is just hilarious!!!! I love it
Yah - I hope Donald didn't pay too much for that one.
I have head so many great reviews of the dinner at 1900 PF!! It looks like such a blast!
Praying your day organizing your orders goes smoothly and isn't very stressful.
Yah - it was so much fun! We'd definately go back!
It went OK - much better than previous times - I think I have a system now. LOL
I really wish I could see D~'s face when she sees this!!
~Jennifer
Um - I was speechless! LOL
That "new" bag that is way too funny!
Cheryl! I have missed you so much!!!! So good to see you here, and I love D's bag! How cool that you got to see that one! I don't think D has ever posted a picture of that bag yet....she must be slacking! So good that you were able to get the picture for us!
Nini
Oh no... I am not sure why I didn't post that one?
I appear to be having trouble sending you a PM so let me know if you don't see something in your inbox.
Thanks!!
Jodi
Hi Jodi!!! I did receive a PM from you.
At least that Cinderella looks more normal at 1900. I love the Mickey earrings - I can see why you are stalking them. I can't wait to see the bracelet you decided on.
See, and I dont' think any of the Cinderellas looked normal - I think they all had weird faces... I am not sure if that's the look Disney is going for - or what? But I'd rather they went back to the classic looks.
I can't believe that you had more transportation issues. Glad to see you made it on time for your dinner reservations. 1900 Park Fare!! Haven't been there in years. Anastasia had me laughing with that face she made.
I have to admit we love the GF. We have stayed twice.
That sundae looks scrumptious!!! That happy dance you did when you arrived captures the pure excitement of finally arriving to the best place.
Have a fabulous day!!!
LOL It was a good meal - and we did like both of the Steps. GF does look fun to stay at, but there are a few others I would like to try first. I hope you have a great day too.
Yeah I feel I do too. Oh well I'll get that this weekend because Jeff is taking Jeremy camping with the Cub Scouts Saturday night. It'll be nice to just be me, Sarah and James. It'll also be nice that Jeremy is going to get some one on one time with Jeff.
How fun gong to 1900 PF! The last time we met the steps Sarah was 8 months old and they said something about what is it about babies that everyone loves. They are disgusting! Sarah was dressed in a cute Minnie Mouse dress. We laughed because we know that's how they act.
I hope you enjoy a relaxing weekend! LOL about the Steps comment... That's too funny!
Hi D~! I'm getting caught up.
I LOVE your joyful arrival photo in the room. Precious!
Your fairy godmother bag is amazing as always. You did an awesome job on the applique and all the details. I love the creativity with the design of the little zipper coin purse/wallet. Well done!!
We went to Disney Quest last summer and yeahhhhh I wasn't a fan. Why did they even have those "orrs" for the Jungle Cruise simulated ride. They didn't do anything but tick me off! You hung in there and did more than we did!!
Yikes... looooong bus ride back to FQ. Were you cold and wet?
I've only been to breakfast at 1900 but I really want to try dinner just for those step sisters. I've heard so many hilarious stories.
Great updates D~!
Hi Brenda - thank you!
Yah - what were they thinking with those orrs? They were just dumb. I sat in the back and made the girls paddle.
Breakfast would be fun if we could work it into our schedule sometime... I just hate doing breakfast at resort hotels, since that usually means we have to miss rope drop. Sigh.
Anastasia's smile is hilarious The step sisters are my favorite, I bet meeting them is a lot of fun!
Yes, it was lots of fun. V has a list of "must do" restaurants that we will need DxDDP+ for on our next trip.
**********************************************************
Yesterday was a good day...
I took orders in the morning, I didn't count for sure - but it seems like I could have filled for the next 2 years in under a minute... but I am glad my schedule is full for the next year - which means job security for me, and more bags for you all to see.
I worked in my sewing room all day on my custom order applique.
And then I had to run to town to get the girls - and of course, do an obligatory stop at Target.
Came home and made dinner... Chicken sandwiches...
Then I went for a nice long walk. I feel like I am totally stalled in my weight loss - I really should say "size loss" because I could care less what I weigh - I have not budged in size at all since I have been home... So, I figure, as long as it's nice outside - I will walk a few nights a week, on top of everything else I am doing. Considering I haven't budged in size - I guess that means I am doing a good job of maintaining?
I have to work at Target today... I hope it's busy and it goes fast!
Have a wonderful day everyone!
