YES, touring Cinderella’s Dream Suite was Amazing!+14 Other Magical Days* Dismeet & Wrap

Loving your trip report so far Brenda! Always love reading your posts! Makes me relive all our wonderful trips to WDW! Looking forward to the next installment!

Woo hoo for scoring front row seats, good job on sign pic.
So funny whoop for the fort..that made me chuckle. So exciting to check into a new resort.
Weary travellers or not you guys still look great!
Great room shots and love the theming with animals..again disney good job.
Ahh empty cocktail..time for another...

Oh wow... I love this update!!!

Now, I have never stayed at WL, never even been there for a meal... But I LOVE the room - that is really cool! Your view is amazing!

I do have kind of a silly question for you... The room layout. I love how at FQ the sinks/mirrors are outside the bathroom - so someone can get ready while the other is showering. Since I have 2 teen age girls - this is super important. So, I couldn't tell from your photos... Are the vanity/mirrors in a different room than the tub/toilet? Depending on how you answer is a total deal breaker for us. LOL

I cannot wait to hear about the rest of your fabulous stay at this resort! Was one night enough? I imagine that it woulnd't be. LOL

D~

Wahoo for front row seat!

They should have a subqueue for people who are willing to wait for that front row - like on Big Thudner or something

Do you aim for the front row on DME passenger side (not driver side) to get such an excellent photo of the Disney sign? We've been up near the front but I never managed such a great shot - of course you have LOTS more practice than me with all of your great visits!

Your WL photos get me so pumped for our first stay there coming up in just 2 months :cheer2: We'll be taking our grandson for his first WDW trip & we're all excited. We've booked a woods view bunk bed room and are hoping for a Wishes view pixiedust: (I made the Wishes view request.)

I hope that your ankle is continuing to heal well!

I just have to know - have you ever gotten a bad view with any of your rooms? I don't think so. The room looks lovely and the view is awesome. I actually really like that part of the building when looking at it to take pictures.

I wish that the villas had such a nice decor. I really think they need a refurb and I'd like them to look just like the resort room. Very pretty.

I didn't know the territory lounge actually sold that many food items. Good to know! :thumbsup2

Hmmm, I wonder if Magical Express was designed to give first timers a bit of practice in the art of line queueing???

So awesome that you got front row seats on DME! Of course I wouldn't expect any less to be honest. princess:

Bahaha, I get Fort Wilderness and Winderness Lodge mixed up too.

I so love the welcome mats of all the resorts. Or maybe obsession is the correct word. :scratchin

Well a Brenda TR would not be complete without a check in photo. :thumbsup2

What a pretty room and a wonderful view. If this had been 4 months ago you might have seen me walking out there!

Yay, finally in Disney!

Hooray for arrivals! Those new DME kiosks are very spiffy. I agree, they do have a magic band vibe.

How wonderful to get front row seats on the DME bus! We've never been that lucky yet, but I keep hoping. :thumbsup2 Beautiful photos of the sign!

WL is such a beautiful resort and I LOVE your room! Disney is really all about the details, isn't it? The bedposts are gorgeous, and those critter tiles in the shower are adorable! I'm thinking a few nights at WL is definitely in our future. :goodvibes

Awesome update Brenda!

Hi Jo! thanks so much. I need to read your entire TR in your signature. I only made it to a few pages but it sounds absolutely amazing!
It definitely was a once in a lifetime trip, I hope you enjoying my TR :goodvibes

And might I add, they have fine looking new podiums that reflect a Magic Band motif don't you think?
They do look good :thumbsup2

Yes, front row seats on the bus. You know what that means.... unobstructed view of that fabulous WDW sign.
My DD is desperate to get front row seats so she can get some cool photos too!

May I present Room 6067 a courtyard view standard room.
Wow that's a lovely view for a standard, very nice :goodvibes

OMG I forgot to subscribe! Problem is taken care of. All caught up, things are good. Did I read your son is coming home? I just got word so is mine. :woohoo: Proud of their service but this is the best news I have had all week.
Love your list to do before trip. Mine looks kind of the same. I'm always shopping for the next trip.
Glad you had a great flight. I do need to go read your update from today. Can't wait to hear what magic follows you around this trip.

Awesome!! Love the room! Hoping for one similar but with a KING bed.. Oh and a woods view lol.

You got really good pictures of the WDW sign! Great job!

:) The details in the room were fabulous.

I wonder if the villas have king beds?? I think my DH would really love this resort but if the three of us go I'd probably try the villas.

Thanks Paula!

Yay! Front row seats! I only wish that when Olivia and I traveled by DME in 2010 we could have gotten front row seats. Love the woodland critters tile I'm the shower! How awesome does that room look. Makes me want to book a few nights there maybe for our next trip down there.

Perhaps DME needs a side queue for folks that request the front row of the bus kinda like EE!!

The details were really great. Disney does a great job!

I warn you, the more resorts you try and love the harder it is to choose next time! :rotfl2:

YAY for DME! YAY for front row seats! YAY for getting to the lodge! This part is always so exciting.

WL is absolutely gorgeous! Wow, those details are really beautiful!

Love the checking in pic, that's a great idea! I might just have to try that!

Sent from my iPad using DISBoards

Hi Wendy! It is exciting to see that sign. :)

Even the furniture in the room had a rough hewn log feel. Just fabulous!

Yes, you and Johnny need an "arrival" photo but if you hand one of your fancy camera's to the CM they may need a photo lesson! :upsidedow

Loving your trip report so far Brenda! Always love reading your posts! Makes me relive all our wonderful trips to WDW! Looking forward to the next installment!

Thanks Kel! I'm glad you are enjoying this. :goodvibes

Great room shots and love the theming with animals..again disney good job.
Ahh empty cocktail..time for another...

Thanks! We were just lucky with that.

I obviously wasn't paying attention. I was just glad to hear something Wilderness as a stop. ;)

Thanks Patti! You are too kind.

That actually is a very good question D~, ESPECIALLY with teen girls. ;) The deluxe rooms that we have stayed (YC, BC, AKL, WL and Poly) have a separate dressing/vanity area from the toilet/tub/shower room. Here's a couple photos to give that perspective.

I would have liked one more night to give us a less rushed feel to see and do everything we wanted to there.

Wow what a nice room! Disney should hire you to take room photos. I fell in love with the lamp at BC, from the Disney website. Looking at your pictures of the wood carvings and the pictures in the tub you sold me on WL. Not to mention Territory Lounge. I really need to make more trips. My bucket list keeps growing the more I visit Disboards. Can't wait to hear whats next.

I have only been to WL once to dine at WCC for dinner and the place looks amazing. I would have booked CL there for our upcoming trip, but I wanted to be in the back of WS for the Food and Wine. I love the details on the bed posts, I never noticed that in pictures before. The room reminds me a little bit of our room we had at the GC in DL.

Wahoo for front row seat!

Mr. MaxRebo - yes wooo hoooo!! :woohoo: <<< even this guy says so!

Oh my gosh, I honestly didn't see your response before I said almost that same thing in my previous post! Scary! Great minds and all. But YES! They should! ::yes::

Do you aim for the front row on DME passenger side (not driver side) to get such an excellent photo of the Disney sign? We've been up near the front but I never managed such a great shot - of course you have LOTS more practice than me with all of your great visits!

I can't recall the reason why we chose the driver's side now.... there was a reason... but to answer your question, yes, preferred spot is passenger side front row. :)

I see your ticker/countdown and that will be such a fabulous trip. Glad I can share a few photos to give you a preview. Your little grandson should love the bunk bed - what a great option. I didn't realize that yes, there would be rooms that see the higher up Wishes fireworks. That would be so awesome!

I just have to know - have you ever gotten a bad view with any of your rooms? I don't think so. The room looks lovely and the view is awesome. I actually really like that part of the building when looking at it to take pictures.

I'll have to go back and see the photos of the villas. For some reason I thought they were the same... guess not. You and Cynthia stayed at the villas together right?

Yes, the lounge has some great food offerings (and full Artist Point menu) and it's never really crowded so it is a great location to enjoy at the lodge. :thumbsup2

Hmmm, I wonder if Magical Express was designed to give first timers a bit of practice in the art of line queueing???

Yay, finally in Disney!

Ha ha! Don't you know it. Whip us into line forming shape the moment we step in the queue.

Em tapped me on the shoulder and said, I'M going to a different resort apparently.

And that would have been an EPIC dismeet had we run into you at WL. It would have looked like the scene from Groundhog Day with Ned Ryerson....."Phil, Phil Conners, it's Ned!"

I know, it only takes three chapters to actually get onto WDW soil. ;)

Hooray for arrivals! Those new DME kiosks are very spiffy. I agree, they do have a magic band vibe.

How wonderful to get front row seats on the DME bus! We've never been that lucky yet, but I keep hoping. :thumbsup2 Beautiful photos of the sign!

Awesome update Brenda!

Hi Carol! Thanks! Lucky was with us for the seats. Its probably like the law of averages, it has to happen sooner or later!

I think if I knew all the details and stories that go into the design of the resort I would be even more impressed but yes, it was beautiful!

I love WL! Second only to AKV. Another great room!

Jill in CO

I agree Jill. I really like WL but I love AKL. There's nothing like it anywhere in the US. And not just for the animals either.

It definitely was a once in a lifetime trip, I hope you enjoying my TR :goodvibes

They do look good :thumbsup2

My DD is desperate to get front row seats so she can get some cool photos too!

Wow that's a lovely view for a standard, very nice :goodvibes

Thanks Jo. I have to pick back up where I left off which was the fabulous swag in the room. All those gifts were amazing!

Thanks for reading here.!

OMG I forgot to subscribe! Problem is taken care of. All caught up, things are good. Did I read your son is coming home? I just got word so is mine. :woohoo: Proud of their service but this is the best news I have had all week.

Hi Sandy! I've overlooked that one little step before and thought gee, so and so isn't updating until I realize my mistake. Glad you are here!

YES! My son is coming back from Afghanistan to Ft. Bliss this week. I am beyond excited as I imagine you are as well with your exciting news! I agree completely with your sentiment.

Thanks again for joining.:goodvibes

Location for F&W is very important I completely agree with your logic! ;)

The room is very similar to the GC. We were there in July... look familiar?

Oops! Sorry, you slipped another post in, almost missed you there! :)

Even though the theming at WL is not my favorite, it is still spot on and perfect for the resort. Even in the elevators they have critters adorning the hand rails.

I hear ya!! If I never knew about the Disboards I probably wouldn't have such a long bucket list!

Fri. August 16, 2013: Day 1, Part 4

Just a brief update to finish off day 1....

Although I would have been up for going to MK for some play time, Em wasn’t feeling up to it after a long travel day so we returned to the room and did what anyone named DisneyKid4Life (yes you Rob) would do… Stacey TV! She’s so adorable!

DSCN2418.jpg

Rob: I’m not sure if you can read Stacey’s lips but you can see in her eyes that she is warning you that future rides with Ariel in your Splash log could materially alter your relationship. Don’t say I didn’t warn you!

I wanted to catch a Bedtime with Duffy segment but we never seemed to be back in the room before 10pm when the segments end. For this first night at WDW we ended up watching classic Donald Duck cartoons with the sounds of a raging thunderstorm outside. Absolute. Perfection!

DSCN2427.jpg

As much as I wanted to get comfy and change clothes, our bags didn’t arrive until after 10:15pm. All were present and accounted for. We didn’t need but one bag since we were transferring to AKL the next day. As difficult as it is for me, everything stayed in the bags. (For any new readers I suppose now is the time to share that I am a compulsive neat and organization freak. Truly! I’m basically like the TV character Monk without the germaphobe traits! My DH has to shoo me away from the man cave when I get too close to his untidy room. But I just wait him out and then go in and make sure all is orderly. I’ve been known to put his socks in "time-out" on the terrace when he’s left them laying around.)

Thanks so much for such a detailed reply - that is super helpful!

I am loving this resort so much - it actually prompted me to go see if we could afford it for our next trip... If we just went for 4 days - and only went every other year, maybe... but we take such long trips... Sigh. Some day - when I am rich. :) But it's a beautiful resort and just went on my bucket list...

Some day - I hope to take a trip where we do a bunch of resort changes too... So this would be great for a trip like that. :thumbsup2

D~

I clearly have so much to learn. I have never even HEARD of the Territorial Lounge…. That Fondue looked AMAZING!

LOVE your room! We want to stay there someday!!!! My husband was pretty bummed that I didn't put WCC on our list for this next trip. :sad2: Doesn't he understand that I have to keep him wanting MORE?!?!! :cool2:

I don't think I even knew about the Cartoons at 10. Of course, we're usually sleeping by that time… :upsidedow
