YES, touring Cinderella’s Dream Suite was Amazing!+14 Other Magical Days* Dismeet & Wrap

The bad news is....I'm late - sorry :guilty:

The good news is...I don't appear to have missed much :thumbsup2

I'm here now though and just in time it seems popcorn:: (don't worry, it's low fat popcorn as I'm still on my pre-WDW diet - hence why I've been avoiding the Restaurants Board lately.

Hi Joh! No guilt here! I'm so very glad that you joined my Brit friend!!:goodvibes

I'm going to be insanely jealous in Oct/Nov when you are in WDW and then cruising away into the sunset. :thumbsup2

You really left THAT message? And, better yet, you're still employed?

Just exactly how many phone messages did you have on your return. Too funny.

Love your must do's. I have had many of the same over the years, including the avocado rita. I should have warned you that it is really NOT the best. Great if you are starving, otherwise.....

Hi MK! Actually NO, if I left that message I don't think my boss would think it's funny. He's very serious, he needs to visit WDW sometime!

Yeah... it's not so much the phone messages as the emails that kill me but I had that solved since I had my work iphone with me. ;)

Ack! Didn't like it.

I just got here and we are already on page 7??! Ack!

I too love your pink bag! You’re the DIS fashionista!:worship:

Why do most men not understand how important the 7 must-do are??

Can’t wait to read about all 14 days!

Christine

Hi Christine! Ha ha! Wait until you see my coral bag! :lmao:
Men may not understand the importance of at least 3 of the 7 must dos but they better not interfere with them! Just sayin'!

I can't wait to hear how you liked WL. We are big BC fans, but decided to break out of our rut and stay at the WL last February. Although we missed the quick walk into Epcot from the BC, we loved the lodge.

I'm also curious to hear about your Magic Bands. It was a good thing that WL and BLT weren't part of the test, too. Eight MB's might have been a bit ridiculous.

I will give you a preview since you asked nicely with a smiley face. I liked WL even if it isn't on my must do list I love the location and the rugged outdoor ambiance.

I really only needed 1 set of magic bands but I didn't know that at the time. BUT... the different colors may have coordinated better with my cheap vacation clothes!

Yes I do remember asking you how you packed!! I think last time I had 2 full checked bags and a full carryon.. This time.. I'm hoping for 2 checked bags and a carryon lol!! I don't know how to pack light!! One of my checked bags is smaller though so we will see what happens...

Can't wait to read more about your trip! Hoping you were able to accomplish your Must Do's!!

I haven't done any shopping yet for my trip... It all depends on if I manage to lose any weight! If I don't I will need some new clothes... If I do you will see a repeat of what I wore last year lol.

See, I knew you would remember!! Good luck with your feat of packing this trip. I want to see a repeat of your Minnie nails!

I think we did pretty good with the list.

I love the tote bag and the sundresses. :lovestruc

I'm thinking you completed at least 7 out of 10 on the must do list.

I had a good laugh over your voicemail.

Thanks! The dress was a fashion repeat! Eagle eyes will notice it from past trips to WDW.

Oh.... you have a great guess Ashley. Stay tuned....

I hit all the discount stores as well before my trips too haha. However I just spent 16 days in Spain with my husband for the Air Force and their shopping was super cheap so I found dresses for our upcoming trip for under 10 euro.

Hi Lori! What great deals! Isn't a euro comparable to about $2 US currency? Even better though is 16 days in Spain. Fabulous or as they say muy bueno.

Stopping by from my TR... I love the start of yours! It seems we have several things in common, most importantly - Spending time with our children, creating memories while they still enjoy traveling with us... I am so dreading the day my girls go off to college - I have no idea what I will do with myself!

Anyways - looking forward to reading your TR to see if we overlap at all while we are there. :)

D~

Hi D~!! Thank you so much for joining! I'm so very glad that you are here. I've really enjoyed your TR with glimpses of your creativity and talent in the head gear and bags. Marvelous!!

I looked at your "plan" and I didn't see any obvious overlap but we never stick to a plan and this trip was no different.

Thanks again and welcome!

Ha, well that's what happens when you just sit there hitting refesh over and over waiting for the latest Brenda TR to appear. Besides, I've always been a proponent of "rope Drop", so you can get in first, so this was very similar. It's the DIS thing to do. And considering we're already on page 7 (hmmm a possible Frump dethroning in the works), I think getting in first is a prize-worthy achievement!! If I do nothing else in my life, I can still point back to this.

OK, now onto the update. Not for nothing, but I think I have less luggage when I move. :rotfl2:

I have to add though that actually I quite enjoyed the Seven Self Indulgent Must Dos, so this is one male reader that was not lost! :thumbsup2

Bahaha, I love that voice mail. :lmao:

AHHHHH, I'm so excited for this to really get going especially since I've had some sneak peeks.

Rope drop!! :lmao: As Ricky Bobby would say "if you're not first you're last" So see, that worked out!!

Clearly, you need to go shopping for more possession my friend!

Oh, oh, I remembered one self-indulgent item that I actually felt stupid including but you were the impetus. Remember when I asked you about your Canon camera. I had some rewards points to burn so I used them to buy a Canon Elph 330 as my new purse camera since I loved your photos.

Yeah, although I didn't actually record that voice mail message, I did share that in an email with my team/staff.

I am sitting at my desk, with people walking by, wondering if I have finally lost it after 38 years of being here. Little did they know that it is my wonderful DIS friend and her voice mail message about her absence. I cannot stop :rotfl: That is just brilliant, Brenda.

Now, can we get this thing going? ;)

Kathy, you know you shouldn't surf the web while you're working, right? :lmao::rotfl2: Oh wait, 38 years at a company, you practically own it - you can do whatever you want!! :thumbsup2

hang on, patience... I will do another midnight post. I can't get them up sooner since I'm too busy responding to comments. You my friend know how that is. :goodvibes

BLT is our home resort :) I love it there, although I think our favorite is AKL! We always end up staying there lol! Next month I am doing a girl's trip with my friend and doing a split stay between AKL and BLT! I love the Theme Park View! Nothing like waking up and looking out the window to see Cinderella Castle.

Hi Wendy! Now you're talking! I love both AKL and BLT so for our last two trips we've split stays with both. Two completely different resorts but I love them equally! The first time we stayed at BLT we had a TPV and I opened the curtains and cried! I literally had a moment it was so breathtaking to see that castle right there. Ahhhh... heaven. this trip was a LV so no breath taking views but that was ok since there's a lot of construction going on for the new buses and the GFV.

I am here. Now need to go read!!

Ok, no problem. Come back after you've read because there WILL be a quiz!! :)

Joinign! Can't wait to hear the details, especially some of the "special events" - love to read those and live vicariously through them

Enjoyed reading your voicemail message as well. Only fun one I ever did was where I made it sound like I had answered the phone but was unable to hear them kinda like "Hello. What? Are you there? Can't hear you ... oh, that's right, I am not there and this is just my voicemail. Feel free to leave a message." Was surprised how many people got fooled by that

Mr. MaxRebo!!! (What's that user name reference? Sorry if that's nosey.)
Thank you so much for joining and welcome! I've seen you around a number of TRs and enjoy your sense of humor!! I'm so glad you are here.

Now THAT voice mail message would fool me. I believe everything I hear. :)

Ooh, loving the shopping update, very cute dresses
And get you and Em at the hair salon! - very glam :goodvibes
Hee hee - awesome voice mail message :rotfl:

I'm weak!!!! Love love love the phone message!

I think a must do lost is a great idea, I generally make a must do list but rarely keep track if I actually do the things. Maybe this year ill keep tabs on it!

Wendy you have great lists! In fact yours come with adorable gifs and images. This trip I actually had a list of the things I wanted to accomplish so I would focus.

Aaaaaah!! Talking about Shopping!!

And here I've been saying how much I love your style. :goodvibes Can't get the pink bag any more. :worried: It's in only tan and red or nothing. I loooove the pink bag though. :thumbsup2 It's so you. And that dress!!! Don't you just love a good deal, an even better deal is finding a treasure in WDW on sale!! Mackie found one while were at the Grand Floridian this last trip, but I'll save that for the TR.

These were great posts!! I too had a great list that needed to be accomplished this trip, I can't wait to see all of what you accomplished on yours.

The pink is rich and beautiful. In fact, the color description is pink sapphire. I see you are a pink and purple lover!

Ohhh... a deal at the GF that is something!! I will be anxious to read that.

And lists are my thing. :)

Those were great posts! You do exactly what I do before a trip..shopping..hair.. Nails...etc. I find sometimes I spend more before a trip lol..not really but you know what I mean.
Love the GF dress!..and the bag is awesome. And the packing well you are girls and I get it...nothing worse than not packing something you wish you had when you go away
Phone message is brilliant

I know what you mean Patti. You gotta get yourself vacay ready right? We can't wear sandals and not have our toes be presentable. And split ends... don't get me started on that!

8 pages late but here! Can't wait to follow along on another trip. Absolutely ADORE your out of office message!

Hi excited!! Thank you!! If only I could really leave a voice mail message that conveys what I really feel. It may be short and to the point like: "Call back later."

LOVE THIS!!!! This is too girly but that's what I love;) So cool excited to see more! Oh and your voicemail

Ha ha!! There's too girly? :lmao: Perhaps. I'm glad you are here!!

Hi! :wave2: So glad you sent me the link. You and Em seriously have some of the best adventures. I definitely admit that I feel like I'm living vicariously through you. After all, that might be the only way I'll see the inside of Cinderella's castle!

I love Em's new haircut! I'm always afraid to cut my hair short because it grows so slow. Great look on her, though!

Can't wait to explore all the MK resorts with you. Of course, I'm exited to see your beloved BLT again after all the awesome pictures you shared last time.

Subbed in and ready to go!

Hi Emily!! Awww I'm so glad you are here and joining. Thank you!

Isn't Em's haircut adorable. She asked me about getting it much shorter and I say nay! Regardless, she did and it looks awesome. I'm not so brave.

PINK MAGIC BANDS. I can't wait till I own one of those beauties.

On your Must Dos...I have taken the Ferry Boat, ridden Dinosaur and Primeval Whirl, saw lions and tigers (no bears), went to DHS rope drop, and ate school bread. I hope you got to achieve all of those and more!!

Yay!!! Pink for you! It was the color that I wore most of the trip.

Hmmmm.... I've done some of those things too now. You'll have to hang on to see which of those we did or didn't do!

Brenda was kind enough to send me the link yesterday when I stalked her about the bag via PM. Ebags has it in pink and zappos has it in purple!! So kind of Brenda to share the link with all of us!

Brenda, you should hit Ralph Lauren up for a share of the profits!

Ha ha Fran!! Thanks for helping the ladies out here with pointing them to ebags or zappos. Sometimes only pink or purple will do. Don't settle ladies!

Haha...love your message. I would love to put that on mine...lol

I always do the shopping, nails and hair thing before my trip too. I thought that was a must??

You should change your voice mail to something similar. Then come back and tell us how it went!!

See, ladies primping IS a must do!! Confirmed by a WDW addict herself!!

You mean it's not? Don't tell my husband. :lmao:

Kathy, If Mark doesn't know your secrets after 30 years you guys need to talk! :lmao:

Haha, I love your voicemail! I wish I was that creative. Maybe I'll do something Breaking Bad style, not sure how that would go over with some people lol

What a great must-do list! Schoolbread is probably the #1 thing I must-have for my next trip. I would also like to do the Liberty Belle and Wishes from the Poly too, not sure if I will have enough time to do that though. Excited to see when you got the chance to do it! :mickeyjum

ha ha! I'd love to hear a Breaking Bad style vmm! Do it!

And may I congratulate you on something that no one else has mentioned... the correct name of the river boat. In my top 10 to do list I incorrectly noted the name. So stay tuned to see if we rode on that big paddle boat that goes around the little river.

You sound like you need a longer trip for your list. ;) Go ahead and add a night!

The 7 Self-Indulgent Must-Do's get two :thumbsup2 from me! Love the sundresses and you already know how I feel about the pink bag. ;)

BWAHAHAHA!! LOVE the work voice-mail!! :lmao:

Ready for the first official instalment! Let's get this TR on the road ... er, plane.

Hi Carol! I was a bit nervous after I posted those self-indulgent things that it may be taken the wrong way.... I'm really not that self involved but oh well it's out there now. Thanks for the thumbs up for the list!!

Stay tuned....

We are kindred spirits.

I LOVE CHEAP VACATION CLOTHING! Forever 21 is always a stop of mine. I get sucked in by the cheapy goodness.

Great pink bag. I'm a handbag junky. Comes from 3+ years of working at Coach.....:rolleyes1

Wow, you got PP+ for $149? We ended up getting it for the normal prepay price of $169. But, we loved it.

I like your must do's. I had a food must do that I kind of failed at in July. But I love yours, I might have to steal it.

Your VM message had me cracking up. Man, I wish I could do that. :rotfl2:

Oh my gosh you worked at Coach!! I'm intimidated to walk in their stores in my Forever21 cheapy clothes!! :rotfl2:

I still can't figure out why my pp+ was cheaper than last year.

And what was your food must do?? Now you have me curious.

Cute, cute dresses! I definitely understand your addiction to buying new clothes for vacation! It's just necessary-as is a pre-trip haircut! :goodvibes

And of course the pink bag! LOVE that bag!

Your voicemail message made me :rotfl2: So funny!

Hi TM!! See? You understand! The hair, the clothes, the bags... they're related. :)

How u missed the post about shopping, haircuts and packing I have no idea. I saw some of those dresses and they were adorable. And I loved the haircuts.

:) You mean "I"? :lmao:

Ooh, loving the shopping update, very cute dresses
And get you and Em at the hair salon! - very glam :goodvibes
Hee hee - awesome voice mail message :rotfl:

Hi Linda! You snuck in while I was commenting.

Thanks!! Oh the important things! ;)

ATTENTION, ATTENTION: Im sure more than a few people were too polite to call me out on the incorrect name that I ascribed to the Liberty Belle at MK. I called it the River Belle which is totally wrong. To Disney fans everywhere, my apologies. Now back to sharing tales from our Walter Disneyland World TR! ;)

Day 1: August 16, 2013 - Part 1

My Disney vacation ticker was now at ZERO!!!! Finally! We did the usual last minute packing and getting our butts out the door routine. Although my DH wasnt nearly as delighted as us to be on the road before dawn, he kept it together with nary a tear during the short drive to our local airport. He even offered to take our dropping the girls off at the curb photo which has become a first photo of the trip tradition. (Now that I think about it we dont end our trips with a photo of us looking all tired and messed up from flying 6 hrs back home.)

We flew SW Airlines for the first time to Orlando and I have to say that Im a huge fan of bags flying free! We checked our aforementioned 4 bags at the curb.

DSCN2157.jpg

See my Mickey bag? It barely made it back from our trip intact. In fact, it went right into the garbage once the zipper fell off and the back seam completely came apart. Insert PSA: Heres where you need good luggage if you are going to resort hop and use the luggage transfer option. We stored and retrieved our bags between check-out/check-in three separate times not including the airlines handling of our bags. Its unfortunate that this didnt last longer since we purchased the bag last summer in WDW. Waaaa! (I was told by one of the bell service dudes that I should go back to Bay View Gifts at the Contemporary and let them know the bag was falling apart after only 3 trips but I just let that one go since it had been a year and I wasnt going to demand that they remedy my bag issue.)

Security, yep we complied with that. They made us pose like we were on a roller coaster with our hands up so I had to let out a little weeeeee!!! Apparently the sequins on my dress were a security concern because they had to pat them down. I think the gal was just trying to look at the tag and see where I had purchased it.

DSCN2158.jpg

Says we're on time
DSCN2159.jpg

Next on the list, breakfast. Starbucks has become our default airport breakfast choice since it is in a convenient location adjacent to security. What to choose? A bagel or coffee cake? Coffee cake please. And dont think I chose it because it was 50 calories less than the bagel, that would just be silly. (Including cream cheese it would be 120 calories less but whos counting?)

We boarded with group A and headed to the back of the plane and pre-selected the seats that we knew would be smack dab in the middle of the travel party with the wildest kids. Just wait, you know its coming! And there they are&.At least it was a short flight since we had a connection in Vegas. I can take an hour of madness. And lets not forget that were on our way to WDW!!!

I was so excited for a new post & here it is! I love your writing style & fun spirit. I'm so looking forward to more!

I'm so bummed to hear of your luggage failure! I had full intentions of messaging you this morning and asking where you found it. I've been on the hint for Disney luggage for a while! Waa waa

Yeah so much for me not posting much (which truly I don't), since I subscribed to your TR and DR I can't seem to help myself! Can't wait to read more!

Good to know about that Mickey luggage, too bad it fell apart on you. I am getting ready to retire my old Samsonite for a Tumi. On a side note the euro last month was $1.30, not bad ;)

"Walter Disneyland World". Classic. :lmao: And I just know that there are folks out there who do think the "D" stands for Disneyland. :rotfl:

We love Southwest but it usually means we have to drive up to the Baltimore Airport which is 45 minutes away or 2 hours during rush hour instead of the closer Reagan or Dulles. :sad2:

Have to ask - does the reduced fat version of Very Berry taste okay? Huge fan of the original version but I don't believe I tried the reduced fat version. :goodvibes

That last picture of Em had me chuckling. She has that look on her face saying "I can't believe you're taking a picture even before I can get seated" ;)

That's a shame the disney bag didn't hold up. I hate when that happens.

Of course the TSA gal was checking out your dress. I told you it was too cute!

Why do places have to post calorie counts now?! I can't tell you how many times I've changed orders because of that. I guess it's a good thing, but sometimes I just don't want to know.

Yes, the Mickey bag might be only a year old but how many trips has it made ;)

Got to say that, for a reduced fat option, the Very Berry Coffee Cake looks surprisingly good. Did it taste as good as it looks?

Thanks for the welcome Brenda! :)

What a bummer about your luggage - I actually looked at that piece while we were down there, kind of glad I didn't get it. Although - after 3 trips (2 to WDW and 1 to Europe) - our luggage is starting to see it's better days too. :(

I just love your dress - I wish I could get away with wearing something that cute!

We had the same issue on our way home - surrounded by a sea of screaming children hyped up on candy from WDW... Sooo not a fun end to our trip... However - we DID get the photo of us on the curb with all of our luggage after we'd arrived home... But it will be a while before I get to that day.

Can't wait to hear about the rest of your trip - you have so many exciting things happening!

D~

DMGeurts, I couldn't resist clicking on your 'ultimate park bag' link and I have to say that I am completely blown away by your talent. That bag is fan-tab-u-lous :worship: :worship: :worship:

Awww... Thank you! That was my very first park bag. If you click on the link to "Part II" of my most recent PTR - and scroll down to the Table of Contents - you will see links for the bazillion more I have made this year - which I like much better, as I have refined my skills a little bit since then. :thumbsup2

D~ <--- Sorry for the short hijack Brenda. ;)

I let my DH pick the seats on our return flight from WDW on SWA in Feb. We were absolutely surrounded by kids whose parents decided to sit elsewhere. I told DH to look for a row in front of adults next time. ;)

Of course choose the coffee cake :-) sad to have to throw away such adorable luggage they must really get rough with it! I love the drop off at the curb pic, adorable!

You girls are so stylish, I love it! I love Em's hair. I have long hair like hers was before her cut and she's making me want to cut mine. We are going to WDW in 30 days so I may just end up doing it!

wow, I can see that I am going to have a hard time keeping up with this thing :lmao::lmao::lmao:, but I will cause you have me and the other 200 people up here hooked! :thumbsup2

He's a good DH!

Gotta love that about Southwest.

Well that really stinks. You might recall the new Tinkerbell one that Andy bought me. One use and they scratched it all to he** and back. :furious:

Security, yep we complied with that. They made us pose like we were on a roller coaster with our hands up so I had to let out a little weeeeee!!!
