I wish we were only 8 hours! We do 12 hr trips by car but Disney would be about 25, assuming it went well. Flying is the only option for us. But with dropping the dog off, getting to the airport (hour an a half travel time), shuttles, checking in, the flight itself (at least it's direct), magical express - that's going to be a solid nine hours!

25 hrs! Yowza!

We are in N. Texas & a family of 3. I think that, as long as we can afford to fly, we will. DH only gets a certain amt of vaca days/yr and having to take a day off on each end to drive is tough.

We do a 12 hr drive when we visit my family in N. Alabama. I've never mapped how long the drive is to Disney from here (When I lived in AL, we only ever drove to WDW and it seemed like for.ev.er then! Ha!). This will be our 2nd time to fly (exactly one yr apart!) to Disney. The first was DS's Wish Trip so we are on our own this time! Exciting and yet kinda scary at the same time!

Me and dh will be at POFQ nov 8-17

We're only there for one night on 11/10 then switching to POR on the 11th to take advantage of free dining. I have not stayed at either resort before so this is pretty exciting. I love the look and the size of French quarter but my son's not to thrilled at the menu at the food court. He loves breadsticks with marinara sauce and POR is the only one that has that regularly. Can't believe we finally got the fd and he wants 3$ breadsticks.

I wonder if we will have the opportunity to do a bounce back in nov . POFQ is not participating this year and that's where we are in nov with the fd. If they offer it we are taking it . Have fun joe

LOL... just got the email from Disney inviting me to participate in Magic Band testing. Odd, because the email says that I have several weeks to personalize the bands before they will send them, and yet our bands are sitting here on my counter because the on-line personalize-by date passed a week ago.

Same thing happened to us. We got emails and UPS 2nd Day Air letters and our Magic Bands were sitting on the counter.

We got Southwest awesome rate of $75 per person to MCO and $79 back to Memphis . We'll be 10:45 am flight!!!

Awesome! We have always flown, but as of now our local airport isn't flying direct to MCO. So we either drive 2 hours to a different airport or catch a connecting flight there. Its only a 8 hr drive for us, so we will try it this time! Hope we dont regret it!

We drove 11 hrs last Feb. It wasn't bad, actually kinda nice to have family time. Life is so busy; gave us time to talk. Southwest had awesome flight deal this summer...$613 for 4 of us round trip. It was just too good to pass up!!! Enjoy your trip

Hello! We have a FD package booked starting Nov 12. I booked 2 nights room only before the package starts...the CM I talked to orginally said we have a pretty good chance of getting our tickets when we checked in, today the CM I talked to said we would not be able to get our tickets until the 12th. Has anyone experienced this...doing room only before a package started...we're you able to get your tickets when you checked in? Thanks!

We are doing room only nov 8-11 then fd dining package 11-18. We figured we can't get our tickets till the 11. Last day of F & W so if you find a way let me know

Great!! We are doing Delta as they were the cheapest I had EVER seen at $150 RT pp for nonstop! We are using miles but were so happy to see these rates! Yay for Southwest coming to Memphis!
