What are the standard room views for 9B business class? Also, do they ever add to the food options in the lounge?

Thanks for any information that can be given! :thumbsup2

You will either have a view toward the lake in the middle and bridge toward pool, or the backside is a view of another little lagoon. We were on the 2nd floor, back and it was so peaceful and quiet. Hope we get the same next year.

ETA. When we were there in June, the food offerings were consistent with what is listed in this thread. If you stay business class, I think you will really like it.

Hi all, I was wondering about shipments to the resort. It's for our Halloween costumes, but I wonder what the process is? We will be arrive Oct 2nd.

Also, I am unfamiliar with the length of time for shipping in the US. Normal shipping domestically is what? One week perhaps?

From Page 1 of this thread:

If you send a package down ahead of your arrival via Fed EX or UPS, it will end up at the Business Center and will incur a charge.

If you send it via USPS, it will end up at CSR Operations behind the check in desk.

My guess is that you should check with whomever you are using (Costco, Wal-Mart, etc.) to see which shipper they use so you know if you'll have an additional charge at the CSR end.

You can get shipping times from each shipper from your ZIP/Postal Code to Lake Buena Vista. These are usually pretty accurate, but I always arrange to have the package arrive two days before my check-in date to make sure it's there before I am.

The "charge" issued by the business center is usually $5.

Thanks so much! Is it $5 per parcel? Also, would 5 parcels be TOO many? And if at CSR Operations, should I tip?

I'm not sure if it's per parcel, as I've only had one parcel delivered. You may want to call the business center to find out: (407) 939-1000.

I don't think a tip is necessary/expected for parcel pick-up, whether it's at the business center (they're already getting paid) or at the front desk.

Great! Thanks for the info! :)

I was wondering if it is helpful to fax my requests for the room type a week before we are leaving?

You should make sure your requests are noted on the reservation. Faxing can help, but it isn't necessary.

We requested a certain section when doing online checkin. When we arrived the CM noted the request and we got it.

Sorry it has taken me a while to report back.

RejoyceoverDisney-thank you for your PM and apologies for not replying but i have had a rough week since we returned on Sep 1st :sad1:.
On Sep 2nd after waking up in the morning i suffered a heart attack :sad2:,i am only 38 years old. They could not find what caused it after numerous tests being done on me.I am now on beta blockers(heart tablets)for the rest of my life.i was only discharged on Wednesday night.

The rest of our holiday was amazing, although AKL was not for us though, the food court is not great, which meant we ate at DTD more than we planned for, which meant from AKL aproximately 40-60 minutes bus journey away, and only one pool for Jambo house meant it was constantly packed. We chose CSR for their numerous pools, food court, theming+privacy door between bathroom+sleeping area,so i will be complaining as to why we got moved,as it wasn't the holiday we orginally booked.

We were lucky enough to get chosen as we walked past to try the new Starbucks at Epcot before it was open,we got 2 vouchers each for a free drink and a free food item.Highly recommend the artisan sandwiches and the hot chocolate.

We enjoyed the atmosphere at Sci-Fi Diner, but the food was not great,we wouldn't go again.

Chef Mickey's for dinner was fab as always.

Tusker House breakfast was a new one for us,and the food was lovely.

Wishes Dessert party was fab as always but sadly no photopass photographer there anymore.

Speaking of photopass,we pre paid for photopass+ before we left the UK,and having done photopass on our previous trip in 2011 was looking forward to doing it again, but the photographers were very sparse this time, and hardly any of them were doing the magic shot's which was very disappointing.

Magic bands-we liked using these,it was great to be able to request our rides and times before we left the hotel for that park the next day,and also the ability to change a pre selected fastpass right at the last minute if it was only a 10 minute wait was great.
Only downside to these over normal fastpass tickets is if you do 2 parks in one day you can only use the pre selected fastpasses in one park.So say you go to morning EMH at MK,then keep your pre selected fastpasses for the park you intend to go to in the evening. This worked well when we went to Epcot in the evenings as it meant we got to ride Test Track and Soarin. Also waste of time wasting a fastpass for the shows as we found out to our disadvantage,i did mention this at guest services as they wanted feedback on these good or bad,and we were given extra fastpasses as they didn't 'work' for us which was very good of Disney. So on 2 days we had 6 fastpasses each instead of 3 each.

We had the free QSDP and it worked out great for us,i would never pay for the plan as we sometimes have only 3 meals between the 4 of us and we never get a dessert with every meal.We had 30 something snack credits left and used them all up in Goofy's to bring home with us,and we had over 20 counter service meals left and that was even after i 'paid' for other folk's meals when i spotted they were paying cash.

Seeing the Halloween decorations at MK for the first time. They were great, gives such a different feeling to Main Street.

New fantasyland and storybook circus are excellent, the theming is amazing. Also the front for the new Princess meet and greet is now up and visible above the walls.
Be Our Guest counter service and table service were fab.Counter service on the dining plan is great value, highly recommend the pot roast, french onion soup+rolls and strawberry cupcake.

Transformers and Despicable Me ride at Universal were amazing. So glad we had a night at the HRH,to get the express passes as we deffinately needed them.
Simpsons area is excellent.

Thanks for your update and glad you checked in to let us know how things went and that you are ok. Yes quite sad about your need to go to hospital. I hope you continue to be ok.

Sounds like overall your holiday was a good one with lots of things that were magical. Get some rest and recovery quickly from both your vacation and illness.

peace!

MAGICBANDS

How can I get a MagicBand?
Right now, you can only get one if you’re staying at a Disney resort that is testing them (see the comments below for the current list). Once launched, all guests at all Disney World resorts and all annual passholders will get one for free. If you book more than 10 days ahead, your MagicBands will be sent to your house. Otherwise they’ll be waiting for you at your resort.

How can I get a MagicBand if I’m not staying at a Disney Resort? Do they cost anything?
The MagicBands will be free to all Disney resort guests and annual passholders. Other guests will receive a card as their park ticket. Those guests may upgrade their ticket to a MagicBand for a small fee.

What can I do with my MagicBand?
That depends on if you’re an annual passholder or resort guest, or both. But here’s what can be done with the bands: (See Video Here)
Using Disney MagicBand to enter a hotel room• Check in for Magical Express at the Orlando Airport
• Check in at your Disney resort
• Charge purchases to your account
• Unlock you Disney Resort room door
• Add your PhotoPass pictures to your PhotoPass account
• Play interactive games and attractions (Test Track, Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom, A Pirate’s Adventure)
• Book Fastpass+
• Get free parking at the Disney parks
• Get into the Disney parks and water parks

How do the MagicBands work?
MagicBands use Radio Frequency (RFID) technology and can be read by short and long-range readers. In most cases, you’ll touch your MagicBand to a touch point at Disney World (most look like Mickey heads) to activate it. If the Mickey head lights green, you’re good to go.

What can the MagicBands do that card tickets can’t?
Because the MagicBands can be read by short- and long-range readers and the cards can only be read by short-range readers, there will be certain “magical” things that will happen only for MagicBand wearers. For example, your name may be said in an attraction or by a character, or some other personalization may happen somewhere in Walt Disney World as you walk by.

Can annual passholders be a part of the test?
Yes, if they book a stay at a Disney resort that is part of the test. (See list in the comments below.)

Will the bands continue to work for annual passholders after their hotel stay?
Yes. Once their annual pass is linked to their MagicBand, they can continue to use it and book FastPass+.

How secure are the MagicBands? Can my credit card or personal information be stolen?
UPDATED 9-5-13: Just like most RFID chips, it’s likely someone could walk by you with an RFID reader and copy the information on your MagicBand or pass. But your credit card and personal information aren’t stored on the band or card. Only code is stored. Disney’s readers use that code to look up your information, which is stored in their secure database. Also, to make a purchase, you have to enter a four digit pin number, which you previously set up. But they could use your FastPass+ and get in your hotel room if they knew your room number. So it’s best to report it asap. (See the next question.)

What should I do if I lose my MagicBand?
If you lose it, you should immediately go to Guest Relations or log onto the app and disable the band you lost. But even if someone finds your band or steals it, they can’t make purchases with it unless they know your pin number.

Do I have to give my personal information?
To take advantage of some of MyMagic+ features and benefits, you’ll need to give Disney some personal information when you sign up online. But if you don’t mind losing some of the benefits, you can opt out of giving them part of your information or all of it. You can also opt out for your children.

Can I stop my child from being able to charge on their MagicBand?
Yes. You can set who can charge and who can’t when checking in at your Disney resort.

When paying using MagicBand, how will I get my passholder (or other) discount?
Right now, for Passholders, DVC members and cast members to get their discounts, they’ll still need to show their pass/card ticket.

What if I forget to bring my MagicBand to the park?
UPDATED 9-5-13: You’ll still be able to get in the park and use some of the MyMagic features using your card ticket, including FastPass+.

Can I use my ticket/pass instead of a MagicBand, or opt out of getting a MagicBand?
UPDATED 9-5-13: You’ll get one automatically when booking a stay at Disney’s resorts but you don’t have to use it. With the new system, you can have multiple MagicBands and card tickets all connected to your account. They will all work independently of each other. But keep in mind that you may not get some of the MagicBand benefits if you don’t have it with you. FastPass+ will still work with your card ticket.

Can I reuse my MagicBand on my future visits?
Yes, but you may automatically receive a new MagicBand when you make Disney resort reservations. The online site and My Disney Experience app let you manage multiple passes and MagicBands.

Can I give my MagicBand to someone else to use?
You’re not supposed to. It won’t work for getting someone in the parks because all guests still have to scan their fingerprints or show ID. You could give it to someone else to use your FastPass+ reservations, but you’re not supposed to.

MagicBand accessoriesWhat sort of MagicBand accessories are available?
UPDATE 9-5-13: Disney sells buttons, sliders and sleeves for the bands. Disney is also selling T-shirts that have various designs using Magicbands. You can find them at most of the resorts that are testing the bands. Click Here to see our video of how to use the accessories.

Is the MagicBand waterproof?
Yes, you can wear it in the pool, rain or ocean. You can also leave it on the dash of your car and it should to be OK.

What size MagicBands are available?
Making a Disney Magicband smallerThere is only one size available but it is supposed to fit on the wrists of 95 percent of guests. Kids and those with small wrists can peel away part of the band to make it smaller.

What do the bands feel like? Are they hypoallergenic?
They’re smooth, flexible and made of a non-latex hypoallergenic material.

What MagicBand colors are available?
You can get red, blue, green, pink, yellow, orange or gray.

How do I chose which color Magicband I want?
UPDATE 9-5-13: If you book your Disney resort stay about 10 days ahead of time, you can customize your MagicBand by choosing the color you want and the name you want printed on the back through Disney’s website. If you don’t choose your color, they will automatically give you a gray one.

Will the MagicBands work at Disney parks outside of Walt Disney World?
No, not yet. Walt Disney World is the only place they will work. Other Disney parks, including Disneyland in California, still use paper tickets.

Will my MagicBand do anything outside of Walt Disney World?
The only feature we’ve seen so far is in the Disney Infinity video game. Touch the MagicBand to the base and the Disney Dragon appears. Click Here to see it in action.

FASTPASS+

I have Magic Bands for an upcoming trip, since I reserved at POR. I've since switched my resort to CSR. Can I still use the MBs during the trip? I probably can't use FP+, because I cant access that on MDE anymore, but I should be able to use the rest of the features of MBs, no?

Hi all,
This is my first time staying at CSR and I'm so excited. I do have a few questions tho and I'm only on page 90 of the thread :goodvibes

We have never stayed here and this time I'm taking my sister with me who has mobility issues and may have to use a scooter some of the time. If I requested Cabanas will that be a problem getting that on the bus with a scooter? I'm not sure how that works to begin with but esp if there is more than one stop for the buses.

Also anything else you can share I would appreciate. We have two young kids that will be with as well and they are so excited too. Thanks in advance! :thumbsup2

Shouldn't be a problem at any bust stop at WDW. I believe almost all buses are lift-equipped nowadays.

Enjoy your trip!

gmi3804 Thank you so much!!! Do you know how that works if there are already people on the bus?

You'll wait for the next bus, scooter or not. Sometimes scooters are front-lined before those waiting in line before the bus is filled; no guarantees, but it happens. Don't expect it. If a bus is full initially, it's full.

Heading here today after our 10 night stay in NYC...I predict quite a contrast! We've requested Casistas 4 - we'll see what we end up with! Can't wait to check in and explore! :)

Can't wait to hear your review! That is where I am requesting to stay.

Looking forward to your review as well. Can you tell me how did you enter your request for Casitas 4? Did you call main WDW Line, fax the resort directly? Have a magical time :)

Requests for particular buildings have to be done by phone to Central Reservations or via fax to the resort. If you've already done the former, you don't have to do the latter; it's already in there.
