How long do folks think Merida is going to stay in the fairytale garden are? With a new princess movie coming out this year, are they going to change it over to snow queen? How close to Brave's opening did they change it from Rapunzel to Merida? And will they move Merida to be with other princesses?

I hope they give Merida a place to regularly meet if they move her. She is my daughter's absolute favorite disney character. We had to go see her everyday of our trip this past April.

Maybe they will put her in Snow White's current location. Snow White will probably move in with the other princesses at fairy tale hall. Merida doesn't make sense in a rotation and there is nowhere to put her in Epcot that makes much sense.

From what I've heard, Anna & Elsa (the princesses from Frozen, the new movie) have a different area they'll be put in & Merida will remain where they area. Who knows how true that is!? Lol

It's been rumored that characters from Frozen will be meeting at the Norway Pavilion in Epcot, so Merida should stay at her actual spot now.

My guess is she will probably join the new Princess Fairytale Hall which opens in a few weeks...

One of the coolest things about Merida is her spot. DD loved shooting the arrow and coloring while she waited to meet her. I hope they leave her there and stick with Norway for the frozen princesses.

The bow is a bit hit with kids. My 3 year old DD still talks about shooting Merida's bow.

Ummm... World Showcase, UK Pavilion?

I heard for a reliable source that since the princesses are now in the hall that Elsa and Anna will be at the former princess meet and greet location at the town square theater  then again I have seen some pictures of the outside of the royal hall having a merida bow and arrow on the top so they might just have her at the hall ..... I guess we have to wait and see :rolleyes1

They really need to scrap her at this point. The movie was an embarrassment for Pixar as it came and went without any fanfare outside of Disney's usual marketing blitz. Any time they have to push a film hard, it's usually a bad sign. The film tanked and it's time to put her back in a storage box with Tiana.

What? Surely you're not talking about Merida, right? I haven't fallen in love with a character so hard since Ariel.

Tangled beats out Brave's box office by about 60 million or so...so in the grand scheme, they were pretty "on par" box office wise.

IMO, though, while I do love Merida as a character, Tangled was a better constructed story. I remember commenting to DH when we saw Brave that it seemed like there was no time at all spent on Merida and her mother working on their issues when her mother was a bear..it was all montaged, and not really developed as well as it could have been.

I really enjoyed Brave, don't get me wrong..but Tangled was a better film IMO :)

I'm confused too. Last I looked Brave grossed as much as Tangled, maybe more.

Brave actually did better than Tangled, which grossed less than it's production budget. Brave, though I'm probably missing one, was the second-lowest grossing Pixar film behind Cars 2, which was a sequel.

Princess and the Frog did abysmally, so much so that Bob Iger had to name Anika Noni Rose a Disney Legend with the other princess voices as a way to defend and validate the awful film.

Regardless, I think it's safe to say that we hopefully won't be seeing Brave 2 in the theaters. Ever.

Domestically, yes, brave did better...I didn't clarify that I was looking at the worldwide box office numbers...sorry about that. Worldwide tangled grossed more than brave by about 60 million. Domestically brave beat tangled by about 30-40 million

According to http://www.the-numbers.com/, Brave was in the middle of the pack of Pixar films in both domestic and international numbers.
