Hi Everyone! New poster here but long time reader and listener to the Dis!

I finally decided to take the plunge and buy a DVC contract. I had thought about it in the past but really started researching it closely this past month to see if it made sense for me (the spreadsheet I created is a little OCD, but what can I say, I'm a planner)! So, I put an offer in earlier this morning for a 100 point BLT contract and had the offer accepted!!!!

I am excited and already planning my trip for October 2014! It'll be my first time to MNSSHP and F&W festival, which I am really excited about after hearing about it for so long!!! I'm hoping my sister and parents will join me for the fun too. (as you can see I already updated my signature, I like to think positively!!) I think I spent the last hour texting with my sister back and fourth about it!

Now I am just waiting for the contracts to sign and then off to the dreaded ROFR!

I am going through Fidelity and I've read that they can be a little on the slow side, so if anyone has any tips that I can use to make things move along swiftly I'd really appreciate it!

Well, congrats to you and welcome to the DVC family (I like to think positive thoughts also!). BLT is lovely and Fall is such a great time to visit WDW. One of our resales was purchased through Fidelity and we had no issues so I hope that is the case for you too.
And welcome to The DIS!

Good luck with ROFR! We worked with Fidelity on one of our resales. They do an OK job, but they are a little slow, particularly when it comes to the closing stuff at the end.

October is a great time to visit WDW. If you pass ROFR, make sure you get online right at 11 months to make our reservation, particularly if you are hoping for a standard view room.

Thanks! I am definately planning to book right away at the 11 month window, it was of the main factors in buying there, for that advantage. After staying at the Contemporary Resort several years ago it was my favorite, I love the modern/contemporary styling, and the monorail and proximity to the MK is a huge plus.

Now I just have to pray that the contract closes in time, I think I'll be cutting it a little close! I need to be able to bank the 2013 points and make my reservations in late November!

Good luck, and welcome!

I bought at BLT this summer and now I wait...and wait...and wait...for my membership letter to arrive so I can book.

Congratulations, Welcome, and Good Luck!

We, too, are in ROFR. I have committed to drinking coffee out of a Disney mug every day until we hear back from Disney in the hopes that it will make a difference. Lol! Fingers crossed for us both!

If you think you might miss the banking deadline you still may still be able to have the seller bank them now. When I purchased my second resale I asked the agent and she had them banked and verified they were banked. Just my thoughts.

Agree with PP have the sellers bank the points before it goes to ROFR it makes the process a little less stressful if they have to be banked within the next couple months. Congratulations we own BLT and LOVE IT!

Thanks for the suggestion, I'll contact Sharon at Fidelity and see if she can ask the Sellers to bank the 2013 points for me!

Also, Sharon is still waiting on getting the point summary from Disney to confirm the points are all there, so I don't think I'll be getting the contracts until later next week, unfortunately, but I am glad they are waiting to confirm the points "exist" before I sign anything, lol!

Just a small update. I finally got my contract this past Tuesday, 9/3/13. Due to the labor day holiday it took them a little while to get the points summary from Disney and finalize the contract. I promptly faxed it back that same evening. I just heard this afternoon that the seller has sent back their signed copy as well and that the contract is now off to Disney for ROFR! Now the long wait begins, October 5th can't come soon enough!

Now I just need to find something to keep myself occupied for the next 30 days so the anticipation doesn't kill me, lol! I guess I should get back to work...bleh!

We are in the process of purchasing two contracts through TSS and they went to ROFR yesterday so we are with you in the waiting process. Hopefully for both of us things will pass without a problem.

You can plan your trip! Lol! I am kind of addicted to planning especially when it comes to vacations :D I know a lot can change from now until you go to Disney, but it's still fun to come up with a basic plan of attack :)

Just had my offer for a small add on at OKW accepted today. Need to go thru the whole process again but at a more leisurely pace than my 1st contract where I was under the 7 month window already. This offer going thru TSS. First contract went thru Fidelity and was aroiund this time last year. Went very smooth , I thought. About 6 weeks total from acceptence to DVC Member # ! Need some pixiedust: for that ROFR Bear.
And here's some for everyone else waiting pixiedust:

Congrats ad well wishes on passing ROFR!

You can spend the waiting time planning the usage of the new points!

Hey all, im just thinking into the future for when my points become available; which would hopefully be by the end of October. What are the chances for a BLT standard view studio to be available for the third week of December or in January or February?

I would say highly unlikely for December. late january you may be able to piece together a week.(You going a whole week ?) later February may be skightly easier but standard always goes fast so more likely Lake View.

We are pretty flexible at this point as to when and how long we go (it just has to be by 3/31/14). I'd prefer at least 6 nights but I do realize that standard view at BLT is hard to get on short notice. We may need to consider a different resort as we only have at most 92 (68+24 one time use points)points to spend for this impromptu trip.

I can say that OKW is beautiful ! Only one I've stayed in so far. BLT and BWV in December for me. Good luck.
