Booking another Cruise while onboard

This is absolutely correct and is what I meant (but must not have said very well) in my earlier post! I apologize if my attempt to clarify just muddied things instead.

I don't want to nit pick but didn't want her to make plans then get on the ship, be disappointed and feel she got misinformation here.

I guess if you know you need to book multiple cruises and know going into it that the discount will only apply to one, and you're ok with that, then plan accordingly & choose the most expensive cruise to get the discount.

Whoops! Sorry if I misunderstood the first PP. I need a suite for my Alaskan Cruise and I am going to assume those dates will not be out. So, I am booking a dummy date with 5 people and switching over to the Alaska cruise as soon as possible. I think a suite ends up being less expensive than 2 verandah rooms.

Since all the other bookings are just for 1 child and myself, I think that is the best option.

I do think I understood. I only get the 10% discount on 1 cruise. The others I get the on board credit and the 10% deposit, but I have to pay full price.

Ok, I forgot about the suite. Those still get OBCs but don't get a discount correct? I have no experience with booking suites.

Already planning on booking a BB offer and have a couple different options in mind, depending on how we like the 4 night Bahamian Cruise. So let me make sure I am correct on this. If we book a BB offer, we only have to pay 10% upfront, we would get an additional 10% off the entire cost of the cruise, as well as $100 OBC?

We've worked with the same TA in the past. She had booked the DCL cruise we were already on, so the rebooking desk already had her info when they pulled up our info in their computer. The rebooking agent just asked if we wanted to use the same TA, then forwarded the transaction/reservation # to her. We e-mailed our TA when we got home to make sure she had received the booking.

Funny story -- the most recent time we booked a "dummy cruise" we chose the shortest cruise/cheapest accommodations available and our TA wanted to know if that was correct because we usually book a larger room and a longer cruise. We told her it's just a place-holder cruise and we'll move the reservation/booking when the 2015 dates are released.

Our first DCL cruise was 7 nights and it nearly broke my heart to walk through MCO knowing we weren't going to WDW. That is, until we got on the ship.

Now we cruise as long as we can & a day or 2 of WDW pre cruise (or a long weekend) is good enough.

Our TA does this also.

Now that my kids are teens, we find that all 4 of us in 1 cabin is really tight and of course 1 toilet, 1 closet, 1 TV, etc. can sometimes be stressful. Now we get 2 cabins so $200 OBC per cabin from our TA helps offset the cost of our kids being charged adult rates. Really, it's not much more to put our kids across the hall in an inside cabin, compared to 3rd & 4th person rates in a verandah cabin.

Very true! I have always wanted to visit the USVI, hhhmmm, lol. We'll see how this all goes. Now, just thought of something, if we book a short cruise on board and decide we would rather do a longer cruise, can we change the cruise length?

Disney does, yes (when you rebook on board). The amount from your TA varies on price of your cruise rather than length.

That's why rebooking onboard is great; 10% off plus on board credit from DCL.

How far out can you keep pushing your OBB? We are cruising in April 2014 and would love to plan a European cruise 2016... Can I book just one person in a family verandah stateroom and then keep pushing it out until Europe 2016 is released? Then, at that point, add my other 4 family members?

The deposit is just 10% and there are usually onboard credits. The amount of the credit depends on the cruise.
