Being thrown out of the Animal Kingdom for littering?

I've actually read a post about some people who were kicked out for smoking on the balcony - I think here on the DIS. I don't know why they would not have noticed the note about the cameras, but yes, you do get asked to leave if you break the rules. They are really serious about keeping the animals safe and by breaking the rules, a person endangers the health of the animals. Also, who throws trash on the ground anyway? Yuck. I can't imagine the rules are much of a problem.

Why would having paid already have any impact on not following the rules? You aren't supposed to let anything fall off your balcony, onto the ground below. There is a reason plastic straws and balloons aren't found in the AK area...at the park or at the two resorts. And yes, there are cameras pointed towards the balconies. There is signage that tells you to keep your drapes closed due to these cameras. If it comes down to animal safety vs guest issues? The animal is going to win.

And teasing an animal? Seriously? What kind of question is that?

of course it is true. it is abuse, not safe for anyone.. you or the animals and at the end of the day YOU are the guest in the animals' home and should act accordingly.

Also reading the OP I can't tell if the potser is just curious, intends to litter, dump stuff on the savannah or tease the animals (why would anybody be planning to do these things deliberately?), or has family members that might do so. And if someone does things like that on purpose after being warned not to, they won't check to see how much they paid.

I also don't understand why the question was asked. AKL is my favorite resort there is something so relaxing about watching the animals. I love sitting on the balcony, when I can afford a savannah view, in the early evening with a glass of wine and just watching and listening. I'm totally relaxed by it.

The question read like there is intent to do something stupid (litter or tease the animals). Why?

Yes, it's true. Part of the charm of the Animal Kingdom Lodge is the attempt to duplicate a savannah in Africa. Don't really think people who tour that safari are going there to dump out cigarette ashes, throw trash on the native soil, or chase around potential near extinct wildlife. When that happens, Disney might change their minds.

Even if you pay upfront, that never ever entails you to ignore rules. That's just a crazy way to live and a reason our society can slither right off the face of the world.

I can say that I was nearly expelled years ago for choking one of those ibis birds in Epcot.

Not choking it exactly but that's what it looked like. It had flown into a womans bassinet stroller (the kind that look like a little covered prairie wagon) and got caught up in the tent of the thing and her kid's blanket. Kid was in there too.

So I run over, just intending to drop the shade on the stroller but it all went pear-shaped. The bird was tangled in a blanket and the canopy top of the stroller did not want to collapse and the woman is screaming straight into my face. But I busted down the catch on the stroller topper and extricated the bird who was not happy at all.

And while I was doing that little dance of keeping the bird at arms length long enough to set him loose without breaking anything, security showed up. They were really angry. I couldn't imagine anyone being angry with me it felt like it took 10 minutes to get that bird out of the baby carriage. It hadn't taken that long and the security guys hadn't seen that part.

In the end, all's well that ends well.
