Hopefully fixing jet toilet flushes - ha!

The photos are great, thanks for posting and enjoy!!

Yeah, I have never understood why the toilets are so loud when they flush!!! Haha.

Sent from my Galaxy SII

Lol they are pretty loud... It shocked me the first time.. Only thing is if you get up in the middle of the night and flush you'll wake everyone in the room & possibly next room! Lol

Hi all!
New to the boards as well as the Poly and have a few questions. We will be staying 9/14-9/21 in a standard view room. We are up and out early and plan to spend our days at the parks. What is a good longhouse for us? We think we will spend most time at Epcot and MK.
Also, hubby and I made reservations for our kids (6&8) at The Never Land Club one evening for some alone time. Is there something on the resort property that's not dinning related that is relaxing and romantic?

Thanks!

Right now at the volcano pool!

Haven't seen any construction outside the longhouses, fwiw.

Wishes from the Poly beach. Just you and 300 other people. ;)

Walk around the grounds of the Grand Floridian or the Wilderness Lodge. Have coffee or dessert at the GF.

Heehee....got a laugh at Wishes with 300 other people!!
Never thought to walk over to GF! Great suggestion! Thanks!

Someone posted in the chat section of the Touring Plans Lines app that that they received a letter today from the Polynesian that said to please excuse the construction that will be going on during their stay. Their trip is in mid-October. Said the letter said one of the beaches would be closed; didn't give any further detail about the letter.

Got back last night from 6 nights at the Poly. Everything was amazing! The only major disappointment all trip was that I hadn't realized Splash Mountain was no longer open for evening EMH. Aside from that and some minor annoyances that are to be expected of Florida in August (heat, crowds, Daily Downpour, etc), there isn't anything bad I could say.

My nieces loved the Poly! Finally at the end of our trip, I told them the rumors about taking out the waterfall in the lobby and the volcano from the pool; they were really sad about both. I am still hoping that whatever happens with the construction, Disney will make things even more amazing somehow. We spent more time at the Poly than we have at previous Disney resorts- we enjoyed the pool, water slide, roasting marshmallows, watching the electrical pageant and Wishes from the beach, breakfast at 'Ohana, lunch at Kona, and dinner/ dole whips/ cupcakes/ brownies at Captain Cooks. We also really enjoyed our Tuvalu balcony and its theme park view.

Sunday was my older niece's 16th birthday. They didn't do anything for her at the Poly even though it was noted on the reservation, but that was ok; I had brought a banner and some decorations myself. And frankly, by the time we returned to the room we were all too tired to have cared anyway. :lmao: That day we left the room at 8am for a 4 park marathon and didn't return until after midnight. (we usually come back to the hotel for a leisurely afternoon break) I am sure she will remember her sweet 16 for a long time! :)

Also- when I got home, I found the letter about the refrigerators among the mail that was delivered when I was gone. So it wasn't exactly useful at that point. Our fridge in Tuvalu seemed to work although my niece said it was warm. :confused3 We didn't really use it much.

I have to say that watching Wishes last night snuggled up with my hubby in the hammock was just wonderful. Incredibly relaxing. It didn't feel terribly crowded at all. One guy somewhere closer to the water even fell asleep and was snoring loudly for a while in between the water parade and Wishes.

I love sitting on the balcony and just watching the boats and the monorail but the construction from what I assume is the GF dvc can get annoying. There's a constant beeping like a truck backing up that seems to run all day. Not incredibly loud and you can't hear it in the room but from the porch it's a little frustrating.

The fridge seems about the same temp as the one we had at AoA in May. Cool enough to keep drinks coldish but I'm not sure I'd trust it with milk for long. I might be wrong.

I received a letter in the mail today. We check in Oct 19th. It says "Sunset Point and a portion of the beach will be unavailable. Rest assured, much of our wonderful white-sand beach will be open and accessible, providing the South Seas ambience and views of the Magic Kingdom Park that makes Disney's Polynesian Resort such an enchanting destination. All of our world class amenities, including our shops, pools, marina, and wonderful dining experiences are also still available for you to enjoy." The letter is signed by the general manager, Norman Noble.

We'll be checking in right behind you on the 22nd. Doesn't sound like it will be too bad ;)

We noticed the same thing when we were there earlier this month. But if you pull the fridge out, there is a temperature control on the back. I turned the control up to make the fridge colder and it worked great after that.

I had read that little trick on here before our trip. Hope it helps someone else.

Oooh! Good to know! Thanks!
