Thanks!
We're flying in domestic so I'll put down 1.5 and 3. DME has our info so I guess the online check in thing won't mess with that right?

Actually I put flight arrival time as when we will be there and our room is ready for us when we get there.

Supposed to go to WDW in a couple of weeks with my mom but my dad has been in the hospital since Monday. Now, it was going to be a challenge leaving him for 4 days on his own at home before this trip to the hospital, so now we're actually hoping that he has to be in a rehab facility for a couple of weeks so my mom and I can still go on the trip. It will be better for my dad in the long run anyway, because we're going to DW no matter what, even if we move the trip to November so he'll have care this way as opposed to November when he'd be home by himself again lol.

So, send pixie dust our way that we can still take our trip, worry free. :)

What kind of seating is there for the nightly outdoor movies?

From Andre's awesome site.

As the movies are shown in the open air on grassy lawns, do bear in mind that they are somewhat weather dependent. Cast members are on-hand to provide plenty of pool towels for you to sit on, so there’s no need to bring towels or blankets from your room (if fact, they don’t allow it).

Good luck Kelliecb!!!!!!

We just got back late last night:guilty:. Our trip sure was magical. We were a party of 6 with 2 rooms. Both had the old fridges but we were told (shhhh) by a CM that we could plug them in and use them. We did and they were fine.

This was our 3rd trip and we already booked the bounce back, the only thing I was disappointed in was mousekeeping. We would return to the rooms between 2:30-3:00 and they still had not been there. I was really surprised as this had never happened before. I just swapped out the towels myself. When the mousekeeper did roll up she would ask "Are you sure?", I felt badly saying "no thank you as we are taking a rest". Has this ever happened to anyone else?

It won't mess with anything. I did online check in for the first time for our trip last week. We drove so our original plan was to get to Disney on Saturday 8/17 around 2pm. We couldn't wait to get to Disney so we drove the next day instead of staying on the beach and got a 1 day reservation. Then early Saturday morning before we headed off to the park, I went ahead and checked us in for Saturday. There were no issues. There were lots of empty rooms when we were there and I imagine there will be even more empty rooms going in September. You should be fine.

I have an 8:30 breakfast at 1900 Park Fare. Will I be able to get there from POFQ using the buses/monorail that early? I think the buses run early but maybe not the monorail? Suggestions for best way to get there?

We did this last week. We had 8:20 ADR there. We left our room (bldg 2) at 7:10 to head to the bus stop. We got right on a bus to Magic Kingdom. It was sitting waiting. We waited maybe 5 minutes for a monorail. GF was the last stop. We arrived at GF around 7:55. We were first in line and my niece ended up being an honorary helper to open. Mary Poppins got to escort her to our table. She was soo excited.

I called the number on the letter from Disney regarding refrigerators. The option for POFQ was not on automated response. I got a CM and she said that POFQ had new refrigerators but not in all rooms. She said if I do not have one then call front desk and one will be brought to the room. She said the new refrigerators are there but have not all been put into the rooms. CM also said that POFQ was not as badly affected as Riverside.

That sounds like good news to me! :thumbsup2

Well she was party right.

POFQ was initially much worse affected than Riverside (due mostly to a lucky accident in the way that the Riverside refurb went last year). FQ had as many as 95% of rooms affected, while Riverside was closer to 50%-60%.

A fairly recent delivery of 400 fridges all went to French Quarter as the physical fit was better for the cupboard spaces there (I didn't actually know there was a difference in the enclosure sizes, but apparently there is). As of the start of August, that left both FQ and RS with around 50% of rooms having working fridges. They are regularly moving them around though to try to accommodate guests' medical requests as best they can, so a given room number may be okay one day and not the next.

The next delivery of 500 fridges is due around the end of this month, and I'm assuming that it will be split between the two resorts (or maybe more toward Riverside as it's larger?). This will hopefully make it easier for them to try to accommodate more of the non-medical guest requests.

They estimate that the whole project will be complete by around the start of November, but there are no firm dates.

I'll try to keep the FAQ in the first post updated with any changes. [Edit: Darn, the DIS message editor broke the punctuation in the FAQ, I'll have to go back and re-add it when I have the time - I must remember to only use the Advanced Editor!!!]

Checking in on October 19th and hoping to get at least one refrigerator between the 2 rooms we have reserved.

Had been so excited about the possibility of trying out MB/FP+ when we check in but sounds like that isn't going to happen.
