I got a 7:25 on MVMCP night.. is 2 hours too long? There will be 5 of us (2 children, 3 adults) and yes, my kids know how to behave in that place ;) I can't remember how long our last meal took there...

Depends on how many courses you get, but my experience in the past is that CG tends to be on the slow side of things. I enjoy a nice casual pacing to dinner, but even with great company and conversation (and well-behaved/ ipad using kids) I have found myself looking at the watch and wondering what takes so long on the entrees. (we've gone 4 times). You don't always sit down right at your ressie time also, so sometimes checking in a little prior to your time helps.

Again, not painfully so on the time to complete the meal, but by no means are they fast there IMHO.

2 hours should be/can be fine, but probably not if you are getting full boat of apps/entree/dessert. Maybe go apps/entree and then check the clock before deciding on dessert. Grab it in the park so that you aren't rushed maybe?

While I realize I am committing CG blaspheme, after looking over the menu, I decided not to make an ADR.

Lacquered belly? Blistered tomato? At least nothing had foam on it. Wait! I spoke too soon, the beef had Parmesan foam!

They say it's blistered so they can charge $17 for it :hippie:

re-reading your post, my first response was to answer whether you can get through your meal in under 2 hours,....

this response is to now what I think you meant, which is whether 2 hours is too much gap to bridge you to 9:30? (Christmas fireworks time?) If that is your question, then to that, I would say 2 hours is a very reasonable meal time to expect at CG if you are doing multiple courses. the meal will/can definitely take you two hours. so if your intent was to watch fireworks from the observation deck after dinner then you should be A-OK without intentionally dragging out your meal to get to that point.

Thank you guys so much!!!! We are going in January and thanks to the advice here I snagged one for 7:15pm on 1/13 and 1/14.

I wanted us to be able to watch wishes atop the Contemporary. I read somewhere its at 8pm on those nights in January.

So I'm reading that dinner takes 2 hours at CFG? I'm hoping if we get there at 6:40pm we can get in and at least have dinner eaten by 8pm. Anyone got any tips there?

Thanks! Yes, we're on the DxDP so plenty of food coming our way :)

Well by the time you actually sit order and eat, it should be enough time to stroll out for a good spot on the deck. Most seats are not great for seeing the fireworks anyway. The deck is the place!

Me too! I am *so* happy to see my beloved Spicy Kazan Roll is still there. I am really psyched to try the Duck in all its Glory and the Pork Belly Nigiri!!

How spicy is this? Just a bit spicy or grab-your-water-glass spicy? I like spicy foods, but if they're too hot, they don't like me, lol.

If you are interested in the Omakase Experience (12-14 sushi courses selected by the chef) you must call, it's not online even though they are saying it is online. $175 per person, make sure you ask for 8 pm.

Can't get anything on December 2nd. It's like the restaurant is closed or something on that day :rotfl: All other dates are available but that's the one I need (of course!). Oh well! :badpc:

There may be a press event or other private event for December 2. There are other reports from guests who were unable to book that date.

It's not like hot sauce hot or anything, but the spice is noticeable. It's fairly large so if you are at all worried about it might be best if someone is willing to share with you

Thanks for your reply! I'm going with my sister and will see if she's willing to split it with me. :thumbsup2
