Thanks for starting another thread, Dee.

I haven't received any notification to sign-in for or participate in the trial. I've been periodically checking MDE and have successfully ordered Magic Bands and also managed to do my selection on FP+.

My dates are 30 Sep - 7 Oct. At time of writing, FP+ is not available on 30 Sep but I had no problems with selections from 1 - 6 Oct. Looks like the test might be opened to early October guests as well.

As I live in Australia, I do not expect the MB to be shipped out to me; but rather they should be waiting at the desk. For those interested, I did put my Australian address in as the shipping address.

And I love those pin identifiers! :goodvibes

So, I tonight decided to ditch the dark glasses and popped in the hot tub, and, like the celebrity I think I am, (LOL) as soon as the glasses came off I got recognized by not one, but TWO Disboards members! First it was Babalooagain, followed by Dolewhipmom. Doelwhipmom, I hope you didn't misunderstand me when I made a Jersey Shore comment. My DS was asking me what accents you were supposed to have from New Jersey, and I said you know, they don't sound like the Jersey Shore! A great roar erupted (lol) so I knew It was a touchy subject. LOL. What a wretched show that must be for anyone from the Garden State. I loathe it so I can only imagine!!!

Anyway, I've decided to take my shiner au naturel so you all can recognize me around the resort. And buy me a drink for my troubles. LMAO!!!!

Yesterday was the cabana at Blizzard Beach (just a tip, when DH went to empty them to pack them away, they were ALL filled with drowned wasps that had made their way in through the mouthpiece!!!!! Omg,). We loved the cabana, and it was worth every single cent we paid and more, we closed down the park and just managed to make it to our 8:45 pm Coral Reef reservation. This was DDs idea, but she was disappointed we were located so far from the tank. She noticed an empty table for 8 near the tank and they agreed to switch us. Score! Another person on my list of exceptional service this trip - letters will be written upon our return! :). It was extra magic hours so we rode Nemo and me, my DS, DD and the other DD stayed late and rode Mission Space Orange, Kids were exhausted, and we didn't get out to Animal Kingdom at a sensible time. Had a bit of a hairy time getting started, but we used FP+ to its best advantage. Finally saw the Nemo show. Two rides on EE (would have been more but it ended up closed) and even one with me and DS in the front row!!!!!! Dinner at Tusker House which was really great but not as good as Boma. We haven't had a bad meal yet!

Forgot my Pp+ AGAIN but when I got back concierge told me to hit the PP desk in the BC lobby. Since I took redneck photos that showed the numbers he said he could get them for me, even the SM one from a few days ago (no guarantees on that one). Awesome!

Late night swim and soak in the hot tub and I feel wonderful and refreshed. Dads are golfing in the morning and other mom and I are hitting Hollywood Studios with the four kids. All hands are excited!!!!!

My love for the YC has not diminished. Plus coffee machine was working this morning. Yahoo!

Have not been on since we arrived on Monday but here is a little bit of an update. We moved over from the "other" parks and the first person I saw on entering was the wonderful Teena chatting with some guests. While we checked in I watched for her to be free so that I could meet her. What a truly lovely lady. We had a short chat and a quick hug and then we were off to the Studios for the afternoon and emh. Thankfully the weather held and we got to see Fantasmic. We have room 3709 sv. It has a daybed which is big enough to let my 6' tall daughter sleep comfortably,a full balcony and a lovely view of the endless roof directly behind the top of the building right in front of us. We have a very slim view of the ship on one side and a slim view of some of the chairs around sab. We had a great breakfast at Ohana yesterday and a fabulous dinner at BOG. Wishes was just starting as we walked out so we watched it from in front of the restaurant. This morning we celebrated our 37 anniversary at Crystal Palace. They had Mickey confetti on our table and brought us a cupcake so that we could feed each other cake just like our wedding day. Then just the two of had a quiet lunch at Chefs de France. We spent the afternoon and evening at the BC and SAB? I recognised Feckless by her shiner when we went to join our kids in the hot tub. It was great to get to meet her! Off to sleep now to get ready for another wonderful day!pixiedust:

Such a helpful thread, thank you so much!!

My first stay at BCV in a few weeks in a Studio and I'm SO excited! I've been wanting to say there for YEARS. I am having trouble figuring out this fridge issue though, I saw in the first page it was stated that YC and BC had the fridge issue resolved, but are the DVC rooms included in this?? Any insight??

Also, I know you need to show your room keys to use Stormalong Bay, but with the magic bands what will happen? Will we still be issued room keys we need to use along with the bands??

Bumping fro previous thread:

Does anyone know if they sell those small jars of Nutella in the Marketplace?

Here are a couple of pics of the view from our CL SV room. I know Pics of SV view are hard to come by so I hope somebody finds these helpful. We can see wishes above the trees in the first pic. Any questions, just ask.

Thank you so much! When you return home and things start to return to normal, could you add these to the YC view thread? As you indicated, we don't have much for SV pictures. The links are in a few places, like the FAQ on Page 1, but I will also move the links to Page 2, just after all the official information posts.

Thanks!

Just bringing over this picture of Illuminations from your balcony- Love it!

Magic Band Buffet and Bling:

Look what came today, all at once. We are so excited! I couldn't even fit them all in the picture. We have 2 sets of the multi-colored ones at the top of the pic for our first and last night stay at POP, we have 2 sets of the green ones for our BC CL stay, and the orange set is for our BCV stay. Can't wait for September 6th to get here!

Left the park to return to the hotel for some stuff from the shop including bits for the wrist bands. These ones just pop through from the front a little like the Jibbits in Crocs but you don't need a back gripper ..they are very secure though, DS Ethan chose the 4 park pack and DH Niel has the Phineas and Ferb with Perry 3 pack. We did find some 3 packs where you just slide the strap through the magic band add ons, I'm on the look out for some charms for my bracelet too. They are not at all bulky or awkward to have on the wrist bands.

Thank you Dee! Someone earlier said there aren't many YC CL SV pictures, so here are ours from room 5218:

to the right, with a little help from my son who wanted to be in all of them:http://s1001.photobucket.com/user/lhcarroll/media/IMG_0646-1.jpg.html

to the left:http://s1001.photobucket.com/user/lhcarroll/media/IMG_0645.jpg.html

to the center-ish:http://s1001.photobucket.com/user/lhcarroll/media/IMG_0644.jpg.html

If you looked down there was a courtyard sort of an area between YC and the conference center (and part of its roof straight ahead) and a sidewalk that seemed to used mostly by CMs. There was also a flat roof down and to the right. You could see a little bit of a parking lot, but all in all it seemed more GV than SV for the price! :)

Ya know? That's really a pleasant view! Sometimes SV scares me with visions of dumpsters and loading areas!

Which brings me to a question....

We have booked a BC GV CL room for next summer. When I booked it about a month ago, the website clearly said it would include a view of a garden. I went onto the website yesterday to show our travel companions some pictures of the rooms, and this type of room is now labeled "views of a garden or parking area."

What? Has this changed? Teena? Dee? Other BC experts?
I'm assuming this is like how over at YC, the WV rooms say they could be of the quiet pool, but they really aren't and as usual, the main Disney reservation system is out of touch with what is actually happening at the resorts. Any thoughts?

:welcome:

I don't believe I have you on the Be Our Guest list on Page 1, so I'll add you! September?

:cool1:

I believe that if any of the mini fridges in the studios were the models that had an issue, they have been replaced, but I am not positive about that.

The 1 Bedroom and 2 Bedroom villas have the full size appliances so they were not recalled and did not need replacement.

If anyone can confirm that the BCV studios are all set, I would appreciate it and I will update the info on Page 1.

Hi again! Question... It was stated on another thread that you have to do online check in to be eligible for the MBs. Does anyone know? I really didn't want to do online check in in case there was a chance at check in for a different room/request.

Thanks!

That description- "views of a garden or parking area" sounds like the former description of a Standard View Room, when the resorts only had SV and WV.

Since they added the Garden View designation, the short-hand we have been using is

Standard View: Rooftops or Parking Lot
Garden View: Something Green- gardens, courtyards, woods or sometimes "a tree"
Water View: this one confuses me. I am unclear whether the designation Lagoon View/Water View includes pool views of either SAB or any of the quiet pools.

That is one of the reasons I am trying to have guests post their pictures of actual room views.

Wow this thread moves at blazing speeds! We are a fun and chatty bunch. Thanks Dee!!

Loving the live reports. Yeah Feckless I love the Jersey Shore (just spent Monday at Island Beach State Park and Point Pleasant boardwalk), but not that show...and really hope that's not what those outside of my home state think we are like!

Just have a couple of questions for those that are there now....

Is there a bounce back offer in your rooms? Hoping for room discount for next summer, and not the free dining!

Does anyone know if the old, blue H20 products are still available anywhere? Have you seen them? That is my ultimate "Beach Club smell" stuff, use it all the time but I'm out. I'm sure I can find it online someplace, but just love getting in the Marketplace.

I suppose I can find out these answers when I check in TOMORROW :cool1: but I just can't wait.

Dee, do you need any pictures?

No offense taken lol. It was great to meet you. This board makes a big world small and friendly when you can actually run into people you know on the boards in real life ( in a hot tub!). My offer still stands for the drink. I'll keep an 'eye' out for you ;).

Not true, there is no connection between online check-in and the MB. if you are arriving at a MB test resort during a test period you get a band.
