Ok people lets give this a go then

That is a great view. :goodvibes I love all those trees. It really makes the BC look a lot different from that angle, almost tropical. I bet you can see the highest fireworks from Illuminations, too.

I forgot to sat we received our magic bands yesterday they worked fine today until we went to pick up our refillable mugs and yes they are using the RFID because the girl at the till had to program each one with our length of stay before we could use them.
We went to AK caught TFOTLK show walked around the place and took some animal photos and saw Bamboo but the poor guy looked worried sick of the risk of being knocked of his stilts. His CM handler kept asking folks to "give Bamboo room to grow" . Had lunch at Y&Y their new starter Bang Bang Shrimp was delicious, the rest of the meal was pretty darned good too. Made use of our fast passes and saw some of the animals closer than ever before our "guide" was very informative which made a lovely change. Rode EE mid afternoon and shopped for a while before doing the Primeval Whirl ride and left. Popped down to POFQ and caught the boat to DTD to pick up something and then off to POR for dinner then back to Epcot and walked ack to the Marketplace. , saw Emmy and her mom walking away from the lift as we were coming back in tonight so sorry to anyone else who saw up and we didn't recognise them today we are still trying to get over that awfully long day yesterday.

And as for the contacts, I have to wear sunglasses, and I don't have prescription ones unfortunately. If I leave them out altogether I might as well stay in my room, and if I put one in, I run the risk of falling again because I'm so off kilter. My actual eyeballs feel fine. It's just getting them in and out that's a bit, ahem, interesting.

Did you bring your glasses with you? One year I discovered that an on-site place which sold sunglasses also sold sunglass things that you put on over your glasses. They don't clip to your glasses. They go on over them like you would put on goggles in a lab. If you're in a gift shop that sells sunglasses, you might want to check the display. I would think this would feel a lot better than trying to put your contacts in and take them out.

Wow could this room get any more amazing we are sat on our balcony watching the Illuminations fireworks in all their splendour with an adult drink in hand (naughty but much needed) we can also see the effects from the Fantasmic show behind it all!! The moon here is whole and huge in the sky too.
Going to the "dark side" tomorrow but the younglings are safe , keep smiling I'll tell you more tomorrow ;)

Thanks. Sorry we missed you this year. Hope you enjoyed your trip. It's great seeing people on the boards that I've met at the resort!!

We are having fun. Still here until Saturday. I caught some kind of sinus bug though. But still enjoying our stay. We met a really nice couple staying at the YC and invited them to Jellyrolls and had fun. It is great meeting people from the Dis. Hope we can make a future meet.

May I ask? What kind of view did you have booked? I'm trying to figure out if "Lagoon/Pool View" really could be a view of the quiet pool.

Thanks!

Hi Scott. We booked a garden view :)
Here is the view:

Hello everyone. Been at SeaWorld hotel for 4 nights but just checked in at YC. Our magic bands weren't shipped to the resort like the email I received said, so we've got grey bands but I'm just glad we've got them. Our view is of the quiet pool which is nice. We went to go get our mugs from the market place and we got the RFID mugs, the lady said the RFID technology will start on Sunday (Apologies if this has already been reported). Photobucket isn't playing ball but I'll post some photos when it's working going to Epcot now :)

Have a great trip!

Hi!

Firstly just wanted to say how invaluable it has been finding this board and esp this thread as we are first timers...for everything. 1st time to the US (we are from Australia), 1st time to Disney World & of course, 1st time at BC! We (me, hubby and our 10yo daughter) have booked pool/lagoon view for 6 nights in October (if only I had found this board sooner, would have booked for longer!). Needless to say, we are really excited so hoping to get some advice.

Our 60 day window has opened up and we will be checking in late on a Fri night (using the ME - our flight gets in at 7:30pm).

Coming in that late at night, would you recommend doing the online check in? If so, what 2 requests would you recommend for 1st timers? Would like the large balcony as our first but not sure on the 2nd. Upper floor for better view perhaps?

Sorry if this has been asked so many times before, hard to keep up with everything, bit overwhelming but you are life savers! How much I have learnt in the past few weeks just from these boards, its been fantastic and so much help.

:cheer2:

Loved your description. Sounds like a wonderful evening!! The moon has been beautiful the last couple of nights and was full last night.

I feel like it has been forever since I posted on here!

So many of you are enjoying your WDW trips right now. :) Thanks for the pictures and mini TRs.

feckless - I hope your eye is better today. And I choose HubbDave's TR title!

Teena - I know I missed your departure, but I am jealous that Jeanne has such wonderful help setting up her classroom. I am sure she realizes how lucky she is.

I have a new Nexus tablet and am on travel. I have not found the time to figure out how to do more than read, reply and quote one post. Sooo, if I miss something or someone, I apologize.

For the family with the poor, sick daughter... I am so sorry. Over the years we have had our share of ER trips while on WDW trips and it is not fun. :(

Someone asked about Magic Band customization for AP holders arriving after 10/30. We arrive on the 31st and so far no option to do that has appeared on MDE. Of course, as you all have discovered, that option could have popped up as I am writing this!

Just wanted to say welcome!!!

pages 235-243

I am going to start working on the new thread. I won't go live with it until we are closer to 250 pages, but that might be today :scared1: so I want to be ready. Please don't post there yet- I'll let you know when we are ready.

I'm so excited to be staying at the BC in February, from 2/16 through 2/21! :cool1: I just booked a couple days ago. It will be my family's first time staying in the Epcot resort area and we're really looking forward to it. BC looks awesome!

:welcome:

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list!

:cool1:

Can you share your thoughts on the Yacht Club CL, specifically the lounge and food offerings? Perhaps compared to the GF or Poly if you have stayed there as well. I was thinking of staying at the YC next Fall but have been scared off by some questionable CL reviews. Thanks!!

:welcome: to this thread. There are a few links to resort specific trip reports and reviews on the 2nd page of this thread. And if you check the CL post on Page 1, I think there are some comparisons to CLs at different resorts. I think that's where I have put them.

Let us know if you end up booking the YC.

:goodvibes

:welcome:

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list on Page 1- just a listing of DISers who are staying at the resort listed by date.

:woohoo:

Please let us know if you have any questions.

There is some info about options for room requests in the FAQ section on Page 1 of this thread (Post 13). Right now these are the advanced check-in options for the Beach Club- if there is something else you want (daybed or upper floor), you need to call Disney, the Central Reservation Telephone number, and add the request to your reservation.

Beach Club 60 Day Check In:

Room Request Options- Choose 2 of the three listed:

Large balcony
Lower floor
Near transportation

Some pics of our room, 5th floor, facing mostly trees and the bus stop, decent view of spaceship earth. Very, very far from the lounge. About as far as you can get.

This resort is just lovely. Our room is adorable and very clean, although it seems a bit smaller than the rooms at GF and Poly. It could just be that the kids are bigger! Everything is in working order. The CL staff are amazing. I have to say that they are leaps and bounds beyond the Poly CL staff and <gasp> even better than most (but not all) of the GF RPC staff. They are very personable, courteous, and helpful.

The food in the CL lounge is good. Not amazing or fabulous but good. Well, now that I think about it, the chips and dip actually could be described as amazing! The lounge is just too small. I must say that I actually find it to be insulting to the staying CL and have nowhere to sit or have to schlep back to my room (have I mentioned that my room is almost the farthest possible from the lounge??) with my food. The wine glasses are also teeny tiny. Maybe all of the resorts have switched over to them- I will see on Thursday when we get to the GF. With that said, the staff are wonderful and they are replenishing often. They are also politely asking guests to cover up their bathing suits and to wear shoes, which I appreciate. Oh, and they have even corrected kids for not using the tongs to take food, which I also appreciate.

The ambience of the hotel really is wonderful and the grounds are beautiful. We were completely floored by how close to walk to Epcot was. I kept reading that it was a five minute walk but WOW. It is awesome. We are really enjoying our time here and we would definitely plan to return someday. I believe that I read on here that they are expanding the CL lounge and if they do, I would definitely book CL again, as well. The only thing that would make me possibly not choose BC for a trip would just be that I am really, really a MK person. I am almost embarrassed to admit this, but Epcot is my least favorite park, followed by HS. It's not that I dislike either park, I just love MK so much with AK being a second favorite. So, unfortunately for me, the location of BC is not ideal. I realize for most people it is a huge plus and I totally respect that!

Fabulous view and pictures! Thanks for sharing them and your impressions of the resort. Enjoy the rest of your stay!

:)

View from our YC room!

Wow!!! Great views! Thanks so much for posting the pictures. Enjoy!

:goodvibes

Ok people lets give this a go then

Great job with the pictures. Awesome view!!! How cool that you can see Illuminations and bits of Fantasmic! Hope the rest of your trip is fabulous.

:)

Hi Scott. We booked a garden view :)

Very nice for a garden view. Is that what your paperwork says or were you upgraded to water view? I have no idea!

If you could post those on the view thread when you get home, I would appreciate it! Thanks.

:)

We were actually given a different gv room at check in. The CM asked if we woud mind having a king bed room so we could check in straight away (About 1:30pm). We went up to the room an we weren't happy, it was really small and when we went to look out on the balcony we could see the car park but with a few trees in front, it was really noisy too. I decided to go back to the desk and ask if we could wait and have a different room. The CM wasn't overly friendly and I was left to feel like I was just being fussy, but I guess I was! When he was on the phone, the person must have suggested a wv room and he said to them no they're staying gv, then offered us this one. He said he didn't know how quiet it would be but I said as long as I'm not looking at a car park and hearing buses repeatedly come and go I don't mind. I tried to explain I've never asked to move to a different room at any hotel before but he wasn't interested. Either way I love our room now, we don't actually have any paperwork for this room but from what he said I was lead to believe it is a gv room.
