Hello all!!! I'm here at the YC CL... It is AWESOME. :) The room is slightly bigger than the one we had at BC, and the fact that the balcony door slides instead of opens makes the room seem even bigger. We have a lovely chair with an ottoman and a view of the gazebo with a side view of the lagoon. :cool1: Room 5152.

We got the Magic Bands are CL staff helped us so much to make our stay wonderful. When the other family came, they couldn't use MDE because of a problem with entering in the name of our city (I had the same problem last year and spent an hour on with tech support before it was resolved). So, they couldn't make FP+ reservations. Staff was incredible and just gave the other family 3 anytime FPs per day on their bands so that we can all go together. :) Also matched our lunchtime BOG FPs as well. They had to try a couple of times to get the room keys working, but we just drank beer. ;)

The surprise was incredible. We told our kids in Toronto and my DD would not stop hugging me. This is the DD that isn't very demonstrative! They wouldn't go to Epcot on Saturday morning because they wanted to make sure that we were around for the surprise of the other kids. You should have seen their faces! I will do a TR when I get home - I have video.... :) I think the other DS might have been close to passing out when he came around the corner in the lounge and saw us.

Spent the first night at Pop. The room was clean, and perfectly fine. We had a delay at Toronto airport so after a 3 1/2 hour flight to get there, we had another 7 hour wait to get the flight. Arrival time was originally 11:20, and we arrived at 2:30 am (which is 4 am at home for us). My son was up for 22 hours straight (so were we all) so it was beyond rough. The aircraft was very squatty, and then sharing double beds was difficult after all that. Got up in the morning at hit Everything Pop. My GOD that food court was madness! The lineups were huge. I just wanted a Mickey waffle kids meal and it took forever to even get to the front of the line. The poor CM who was working there was completely alone, and she had to dish up the food and do the "make your own yogurt parfait" station herself. She kept running out of things and nobody was helping her - she had to leave and get more supplies. There was a cook who kept bringing trays of waffles but otherwise it was allllll her. It was loud and chaotic, and we got the heck out of there as soon as possible. We arrived at the YC and were whisked up to the 5th floor immediately for check-in. Sooooo nice. DH was like, "OK, NOW I get why you want to stay here!" I could totally imagine having a great holiday at Pop, and it had some awesome theming elements, but once you get used to a Deluxe, you get totally spoiled rotten.

This is getting too long... LOL We had a good dinner at Via Napoli last night. The service was NOWHERE NEAR what we had at Tutto Italia last year, but the pizzas were great. We were in this long room off to the side, and it was like noise was amplified, so I found it extremely loud.

Had a touch of bad luck - I was coming in from the balcony and tripped on an open suitcase and fell hard onto the corner of the table. What a goose egg! Scared my DH to death. No concussion, but it was a hard smack. Black eye and very sore head today. Not enough to keep me out of the MK for just after RD! Used all our FPs and had an awesome day. BOG lunch was incredible with the FP.

In the room with wine and snacks and ice on my knee (still swollen from the fall) Literally threw money at the kids to go to the arcade. LOL

Staff at CL is amazing. Love them all! No idea what the recent bad reviews are all about. No clue at all.

More tomorrow...

Sounds like you've had an. Awesome start to vacation. So glad the surprise went over well!!! Enjoy your trip

Thanks!!!

I don't know how much I was get to check in and read posts but I can try to answer what I can... I was disappointed that the MBs didn't work for SAB since they were trying it earlier. Hard to keep track of cards and bracelets!!!

Word of warning for any New Englanders who are excited to see the lobster/seafood roll on the menu at Hurricane Hannas.....it is NOT what we are used to. It looks delicious, and im a seafood fanatic, but i couldnt eat it. It is very citrusy and some other weird flavors, not at all the buttery/mayonnaisey goodness we have at home. :(

I thought I read that the lobster roll at the Boardwalk Bakery is more like the traditional New England one.

Here's an article and the picture from it:

Sorry about your fall but I'm so glad you are enjoying the YC. It's my favorite resort.

I hope you keep posting. I love living vicariously through my Dis friends!!

Off topic: my 13 1/2 year old dog, Bubba, passed away today in his sleep. We'll miss him so much.

Oh no... We lost our 14 1/2 year old doggie in January 2012. Still miss her. I wish she had passed away in her sleep, she just outlived her health... :(

.

You really didn't need to fall to get wine and snacks, I know my kids are always happy to head to the arcade. So next time skip the fall!!!

I hope you are feeling better soon!

Oh, so sorry! We put our 8 year old terrier down this January. We had no warning that she was sick. Lymphoma that spread to her brain. It was that fast. Pets are so special, so hard to lose them.:(

I'll be off all day to our annual family reunion at the Grand Commons in Newcastle NH. Should be a beautiful day to be seaside. My dad's side of the family is a very fun, close group.

Check-in with everyone later tonight or tomorrow.

I am in your neck of the woods right now! I have a seminar tomorrow in Lexington. DH and I drove up here Friday and are staying in Burlington visiting my DB and his family. We will get to see DD tomorrow night after I am done with my training. I hope your weather was wonderful and the reunion terrific.

YCFan - sorry to hear about your dog. So sad.

Feckless - So happy to hear your trip is off to a good start (and sorry to hear that your trip started off with a trip!) Hopefully the magic of WDW will scare any pain away.

Can't wait to hear all the bits of your trip reports! Keep 'em coming - live or after the fact.

Day 2.....just some observations.
Still am in love with BC. Not sure how we will ever be able to stay anywhere else. SAB is really as great as the fans say and once you get used to the layout, you are good to go. Can be a bit overwhelming at first....you figure out fast you REALLY don't have to climb up all those stairs. :rotfl2:

We are right near the quiet pool and it's nice...although my kids only want to go to SAB.

The walk to Epcot is truly AMAZING...especially after Illuminations last night. That was awesome!!! Especially being on that side of the resort. Very close.

We ate at Beaches & Cream and it was ok...average. 2 tables did order the kitchen sink while we were there. At first we thought the power went out and there was a fire. :rotfl2:

All the CM are really really really nice. Having only stayed at values before and 1 mod, they are truly more friendly here and go out of their way to ask you how you are and welcome you back upon arrival.

The buses are very quick and the covered walkways for when it rains is fabulous.

Lastly....the beds are very comfy.....we slept like rocks.

I am so sorry for your loss! Our furry companions are such an important part of our families

Enjoy your time here! Tomorrow is supposed to be very nice- getting hotter later in the week.

We had a really great day yesterday. I am fortunate to have an incredible family- we all get along well and enjoy our annual reunion.

Thanks guys for all your support.
