Free Dining Oct-Dec Is Here!!! (And a whole lot more) ~ Part 3

Hey guys!! I asked this over on the theme park strategy board, but didn't really get an answer, so maybe my free dining friends can help me! :)

We will have 2 HWS days on our upcoming trip and want to see Fantasmic once. The first is a Monday with EMH, non recommended by easy and TP. For this day, I was able to get a F! Dining pkg at mama Melrose. Our second day will be a Wed, regular park hours, recommended park day. I've tried ( and will keep trying) to change my F! dining to this day, but so far, no luck.

Will it be better to go the first day with the priority seating, even though the park with be busier? Or would I be better off just doing stand by on a better day?

We want to try Mama Melrose so we will eat there Monday regardless. If we waited til Wed to view the show, could I pixie dust my F! seats to some one else?

TIA!

I love your suggestions, if you don't mind, do you have any for staying at AoA FN at end of September? We have always done buses, with a few monorail rides thrown in for fun. We are leaning more towards driving for all the reasons you stated in your original post. We will have 1 small, umbrella stroller this trip; by age 3.5 we make all the kids walk...lol. Thanks!!!

We stayed at AoA in January and were pleasantly surprised with the busses. Never had to wait more than 15 minutes for a bus and usually had a seat. We had 2 adults, 2 little ones and a double stroller. They don't share busses with anyone. We stayed in a LM room... That was a LONG walk to get to transport but other than that, no problems. To be honest, my expectations are pretty high.

Does anyone know if you can link your MNSSHP tickets to your online reservations / account. Also, Im hearing Magic Bands are being tested at POR - I haven't seen anything on my account under the Magic Band or Fast Pass + yet. I arrive 10/26-31...is it too early or should I see something.

Yes you can, I linked my Christmas tix, you need the number on the back. You usually get official word about magic bands 17 days out but you can check you MDE around 20 days out and it might show up. Some people never get official word. See this http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=3142535

Just in case anyone needs it..I was able to price out a free dining package at POR for the week of 12/13. Only had River view available but still a good option for families of 5 on a budget.

Does anyone know if I book a free dining package for 6 nights, could I shorten the stay later if the check in date still falls within the free dining dates? I found dates that will work for us, but I may need to change the check in date to one day later and make it a 5 night stay depending on the kids school.

I'd love your opinion....We're staying at POR in Oct. WeHave an ADR at CRT at 8:05 (park opens at 9 that day). We have a rental car (driving to some other FL attractions). We plan to leave MK at about 11:30 day of ADR. Should we drive our car, which means we have to do the TTC thing.....or, should we take a bus (if so, will we get there on time??)....very interested in your thoughts....thanks! :)

They recommend an hour at least for bus travel before your reservation , plus another half hour for monorail. ( if you want to ride it) Figure 2 hours to be safe. My guess is you can do it under a hour if you drive to the TTC. ( but thats assuming the monorail is running well!

BUT at that time of day the buses will be fairly quiet. I would check the schedule to see when the earliest the bus leaves from your hotel.

In you situation the bus might be slightly more feasible because you can cut out the monorail or ferry.

We tried 5 times over several years to see Fantasmic. If you go i highly recommend priority seating. The show is good but not so good that I would stand in lines like cattle for hours to see it.

The dinner package was very very good, seating was fine and it took very little park time. As far as a recommended day for HS , i never see the need. Its never that crowded there. ( except maybe near major busy season.)

Yep this is why. September or January you wont see waits anywhere. Slowest time of the year! Try it again summer or late November or Christmas time.
:P

Wow, so I sent my second email *rollseyes* - the first time the auto email said someone would contact me within seven days, this one says 10. Ugh.

Ugh! Maybe that means you will hear something by tues? What say are you on?

You mean what day? Day 8- they shouldn't have said I would be contacted within 7 days if I wasn't going to be, you know? That's poor customer service IMO. And after already receiving poor customer service, it's very frustrating not to be acknowledge.

Hi all,

Word to the wise.... Stay on top of your bank accounts and credit card statements. I have a Disney chase visa that I booked my wishes dessert party on at the beginning of aug. I pulled up my acct yesterday to pay it off and if was $1300 more. Had four different fraudulent charges for WDW Dining totally $1300. Ugh!!! Definitely not mine. Anyhow, they shut that card down and will refund the charges. Scary. The fraud felt seems to think someone hacked into my acct???

Fun! Fun!

Does it matter if I printed the actual tix at home vs using will call. I tried to type in the conf # under the bar code but doesn't want to take it.

I printed mine out and was able to scan them with my phone to link them.

That sucks! I had someone use my debit card before, not a good feeling!

I was able to book from 12/12-12/22 at POR for 5 with FD. Finally I was able to get the dates I wanted. Yea!!!! I started with a reservation for 4 days and added 3 days in the first weekend of the offer and after two weeks trying to get my dates I did it!!! I am mega super happy!! Keep trying!! Persistence is paying off with Pixie Dust and Magic!!

Hey guys, I'm coming at ya from Richmond Virginia and I had to share. Last night I had dinner at a Brazilian Restaurant and they served all kinda of different meat just like they do at Ohana.

Felt like I was a Disney there for a minute!!!

that is scary because the charges were made through Disney. I have had fraudulent charges on my Chase Amazon;they declined the charge and notifed me. Chase Freedom ;$9000 worth of Tickets on Delta that I noticed while they were still pending. I check my credit card accounts on line every couple of days. 3 are Chase so easy enough to check with one log in. One tip I have heard is DO NOT leave any credit card numbers saved in your on line accounts for any merchant. Its a pain as I have to type the number in every time I make a purchase but worth it.
