Toll Roads?

Does anybody by any chance know how much the tolls are between Port Canaveral and WDW on the 528 Beechline?

We live in Florida and have the Sunpass to quickly move through the tolls. It costs us about $6 one way. There is a toll calculator, but I could not get it to work on my iPhone. Try this website:

We live in Tennessee, but bought a SunPass for our car last year. While it may only save 25% on the $6 in tolls, now we just cruise :drive: to the Port & don't have worry about having exact change or waiting in the toll lines. Wish we had done this years ago. ::yes::

I need to look into this. How do you know exactly how much to load on the sunpass?

Are there any tolls from Virginia beach to Disney world?

It depends on which way that you travel. We used to live in Va Beach and we'd take US58 to Emporia and get on I 95 at Emporia. Take I 95 to I 4 and sail right through Orlando to Disney. No tolls. However, there are plenty of speed traps on US 58, so don't have a heavy foot on the gas pedal.

Hope that this helps!

western most toll on 528 is $1.00 - not $1.25

all exits and plazas, cash and electronic rate

With the Sunpass you establish a 'replenish amount' and when your account gets below this limit it automatically reloads with an amount you set. I for example have my low set at $5 (I use it for airport parking too) and it reloads in $25 increments. The older transponders would make a beep when a toll was deducted, and a boop when they were reloading... There IS an option to put money on the account outside of a credit card, but I believe you must have a credit card on the account . .

see: https://www.sunpass.com/faq

The system is quite forgiving

When I forgot to update my credit card info and my balance went negative they just sent me an e-mail - no fine.

When the battery in my older transponder died and we did not notice, the system simply looked up my electronically captured lic' plate info, went to the files and charged me the regular rate. Again, no fine (dd had a transponder with a dead battery for a year! All tolls were processed normally)

Do you have a Sunpass Tag or sticker. $25 seems like a lot for a electronic tag. We have a Ez-pass and was free for 2 of them.

I just scrounge up all the quarters sitting on top of my washer and dryer, in my car cup holders and extra drawers. I keep a bag next to the driver and we toss in the needed quarters in the EXACT CHANGE lane and are on our way. If you don't have exact change, you may have to wait in a lane that has a person to give you change. The quarters are easier. What else would I do with them anyway, they are multiplying and I rarely use quarters...

We first loaded with $50 & the just monitor on line & add $$s when needed. :)

We live in NY and I just ordered a SunPass last month for our trip to Florida in a few weeks. We are in Florida 3 or 4 times a year and I figured it make things so much easier to just have a SunPass. I ordered it online and it came in the mail a few days later. We got the transponder not the sticker because we can move it from rental to rental. We will be driving from MCO to WDW and then from WDW to Miami and then Miami to PBI.. We often drive from north florida to south florida so it will be helpful.

Ez pass charges a $1 fee per month, so they are getting that $25 and then some

We live in florida and go to disney frequently so we have sun pass we night it at CVS some years ago. You can add or change cars or even add rentals. Last year on our way to the port there was a car in front of us and it took her close to 10 min to pay for her toll. After then we said never again so the sun pass goes with us. We had $20 on it last May and have been to Disney twice and there is still money on it .

We bought our transponder at Publix last year & move it between cars as well. With 2 or 3 trips to the park or DCL, a year, it does make "things easier". :)

We did the same thing earlier this year! And not only do we move it from car to car- we go into the website and 'register' the rental so that they don't go nuts.

It makes things so much less stressful there. And doing a couple of cruises in the next few months- it saves a lot of stress there too!

It depends on where/when you got your EZ Pass. My wife and I each have an ezpass from Virginia and there we do not have to pay any fees. New transponders in VA now have a 50 cent or $1 monthly fee. The $1 fee is for a EZPass Flex, which is used for the new High Occupancy Toll lanes. If you are in carpool with 3 or more people, you can flip a switch on the flex transponder and travel in these lanes for free. If you have fewer than 3, or have the original/50 cent version, you pay a variable toll, based on traffic conditions. I think as long as I have my old transponder, I will not have to pay any monthly fees.

We also bought an E-ZPass On-the-Go at a grocery store in New York for one of my daughters to use. That also does not have any monthly fees.

Ordered my Sun Pass last night and loaded it with $30, just hoping it arrives by 10/31 when we leave NJ.
