Hi!! we have just booked our holiday for next year and we are all so excited to go back!! we have the DDP and would love to experience the be our guest at beauty and the beast castle.. does anyone know what the dinner menu is like?? :yay:

Our reviews of menu offerings:
(we think lunch is better than dinner)
LUNCH:
. . . tuna nicoise - pretty good, but light on the olives
. . . croque monsieur - nice, Béchamel needs more nutmeg
. . . turkey on a warm baguette - good, with the dijon
. . . roast beef sandwich - tasty, but slightly tough
. . . braised pork - recommended
. . . vegetable quiche - wife liked it (men don't eat such)
DINNER:
. . . pork rack chop - the pasta out-shined the pork
. . . chicken breast - nicely done and recommended
. . . pan-seared salmon - cooked well, but average taste
. . . grilled strip steak - good, not great, steak
. . . sautéed shrimp and scallops - only average
. . . oven-baked ratatouille - average

looks a great menu:thumbsup2 think that ones a must.. beauty and the beast is one of my favourite disney films, we can't wait to see the castle :goodvibes

My daughter was very sad when I told her there were no reservations available for when we are going. She wants to eat here so badly, no where else. But, I wont be spending 3 hours in line for lunch. We are 85 or so days out, first time going to wdw and it sucks that we cant do this.

Try a Fastpass for lunch

Check the cancellation thread on this site for month you are going. I have seen lots of BOG cancellations there for the month we are going. And keep checking the ADR site daily, you are a long way out and cancellations are very common!

We lucked out and got an ADR for dinner about a week before the trip. It was amazing! We went in with low expectations for the food, as I have read some people didn't rate the food that high, but we loved it! DH had the steak and it was great and I had the pork chop- delicious! Hope you get and adr or get to have lunch there!

could anyone enlighten me as to what the fastpass is for the DDP:confused3, is it new?? we were there 2 years ago and they didn't do it then.. i'm hoping we can get into most of the restaurants if we book them well in advance

no, they did not. It's a new thing. There's a bunch of good info (and not so great info) in multiple threads in the theme parks Strategy section of the DIS.

The short of it is that in the new system, rumor has it, that guests will be able to fastpass quick serve dining. They will also have many more options than they had under the old system. I do encourage you to look for those threads.

To answer OP: We tried BOG for dinner last spring. It was worth seeing the decor. I wouldn't personally rank it in the top tier of dining choices at WDW, except that it's new. I liked that that it is NOT a buffet. Then again, since it's not a buffet, it was a bit on the slow side. The entrees were okay, but there wasn't anything particularly unique or outstanding. You can get almost the same steak at 50+ other places in WDW.

I don't know what I expected, except that my family generally likes to be seated (approximately) on time. We did our part: booking at 180 days and arriving 15min early ADR. They did not. (about 30min late) So no doubt that tainted my perspective a bit. Service was also mixed. Maybe as the staff gets more experienced, those parts will also improve.

IMO, the highlight was dessert. That part of the meal is very true to French dining!

How did you do this?

Went to the website that was posted by the OP---- entered in my hotel conf #, and around 5 dates (options) came up, and was able to book--

Printed out the confirmation to be sure, and called Disney, and looks we are all set :)

We went at 12:30 with the line starting at the end of the bridge. The CM was saying 60-90 minutes. At 25 min we were already ordered and finding a table inside. They move VERY quickly. And by the time we sat and got our drinks, the food already started coming to the table. There are a lot of things to look at for kids (and big kids!) in line. I have heard similar time reports in these boards, so if you really want it do not be discouraged!

Don't give up yet!!! Check the boards and see if someone is canceling, I did see some guest on the thread opening adr's at BOG, also call or check on line often, people cancel and u just might get lucky. Another good way to get in is to double check 24hrs or whenever the cancel w/o penalty is at that location , I have gotten lucky that way many times. Good luck!! When r u going? I have an adr for BOG in Dec. if something comes up for us and our dates match I would be happy to pass it along!
