I still haven't even STAYED with our GFV points, still don't know if our 160 SSR's are going to pass, and I just put in an offer on a 50 pointer at ANOTHER resort. A lowball, but still.

If we plan to go at least 1 week a year and want maximum flexibility (i.e. Christmas if we want it) in a 1 br, 320 points should cover us, right?

As long as you don't always want VGF, BLT (MK view) or AKV (concierge) you should be fine.
Xmas week for 1 bedroom:
AKV: 273-334 (422 concierge)
BLT: 347-465 (MK view)
BCV: 362
BWV: 306-357
OKW: 300
SSR/BWL: 318
VGF: 463-551

You are in your honeymoon phase. You will buy at several resorts, stay several times per year, buy more contracts, stay longer.

After a few years you will decide on which resorts you really like and start selling the ones you don't.

Been there, done that. We recently sold 8 contracts, bought 1 more and now have 16 contracts at 6 resorts. :thumbsup2

Ahhhh we know this tune quite well. :rotfl2:

We don't buy anymore. We are maxed out at 449 in 3 contracts at 2 resorts. I don't want or need any more maintenance fees than I have now!

It doubt if it's enough it wasn't just for the two of us. But why not slow down now and try them out before you buy more? You might find owning at three resorts is too much. Especially since the one resort is just a small contract. Use them for a while and see how it goes. Welcome Home!

13 years, 600 pts in 4 contracts, 2 home resorts. Still want more. We'll probably add-on again when there is another new DVC resort...hopefully the Poly.

We had 500 in three resorts and five contracts. We now have 325 in two resorts and three contracts. We sold two when selling was good and sold for more than we paid. We sold the two because we got tired of spending so much on annual member fees. I'm in the process of buying a nice Gulf Coast beach resort and that will be it.

We have 375 and I am wanting another 55 but thinking twice about it. We go every other year but like to stay in 2 bedrooms and treehouse villas. However in 8 years it will just be the two of us so we won't need all those points. Tempted to buy VGF but tempted to stay with 375

We have 500 pts in 2 resorts; in the process of buying 350 pts more and adding a home resort. Seems we're always looking to do more vacations and don't have enough pts to do it.

Boy is Bill right!!! We bought 100 SSR on our honeymoon in Oct. 2011. Then 2 100's at AKV in May of this year. Then 100 at VGF in June and now 2 50's in BCV in August. We went from 100 to 500 in less than two years!

We are locals that live in St. Pete and we come to Disney about once a month. I sat down and figured out a weekend for every month knowing that some months are harder to get if you don't own... Hence the VGF and BCV add ons. My Son's birthday is in October and his favorite resort is BCV!! Food and Wine has made it almost impossible to get ressies there for him in the past at 7 months!

I also threw in a 3 Bedroom Grand Villa to host friends!

Another consideration was keeping the points even to split between our kids in the future. SSR, AKV and one BCV go to our son. VGF, AKV and the other BCV will go to our daughter.

500 is perfect for us now. Our annual passes more than pay for themselves!!!

345 pts in one resort. I have 4 contracts 2 are original and 2 are add-ons. I haven't had problems staying at other resorts when I want to. Of course I know some resorts at some times of the year will be impossible, but I have no problems staying where I own. I did calculate the number of points in a way similar to your idea - basically how many points for a 1 BR when I plan ongoing. If that changes and I need more points, I guess then I'll have another case of addonitis.

We bought 250 points at BCV one year ago. Now itching for more. Made offer on AKV 100 points. Waiting to hear.
