HI all - We are getting very excited about our Disney vacation - checking into the CR on Aug 24, staying thru Sept 2... Garden View, Garden Wing... We got our magic bands and our FP+ reservations and I was told by a CM that we were in the test -but never did get an email... Should I worry about that? (we're only 10 days out now)... I guess we'll figure it out when we get there and hopefully it all works!!
We're really looking forward to staying at CR and I'm reading back a bit to get your tips. We have a ressie at Chef Mickey's for breakfast and we're doing the Pirates and Pals cruise on our last night at the CR too...
Debating whether or not to do a Garden Grocer type order - Does the CR have easy grab and go type breakfast items in the morning or is it better for me to have breakfast foods in the room?
Thanks, all!
Randi
Your vacation is coming up soon! Your activities sound like lots of fun. There are plenty of breakfast items at CC. We personally dislike eating in our room because we prefer immersing ourselves fully in the park and resort experience. We do like club level since it is so easy to grab breakfast in the morning, but the CC makes it very easy, too. BTW, The Wave has a wonderful breakfast buffet
. I'll add you to the Log-orail.
I have never used Garden Grocer, but I just returned from CR on the 8th. DW and I ate breakfast everyday from Contemporary Cafe using our snack credits (bagels, muffins, croissants) it is a short walk from the garden wing. I would go grab breakfast and fill our mugs while DW was getting ready. They also have a pretty good menu for all meals. Hope that gives you some insight. Enjoy your trip, you will love CR!!
Welcome back! It's hard being back, isn't it?
Just an FYI
I just received my MB!!!! They were delivered at 9:30am. this morning.
I can't believe how fast they got here.
Laura
I can't believe how fast you posted!
. Seriously, the MBs make your trip seem so much closer, doesn't it?
I just payed on another thread, but here goes.
First, we are absolve in love with CR!!! We in the GW with a fabulous view of BL.
The testing had been rough, but it's mostly because we are atypical. They could not link my travel agent ticket at all, but I ended up buying an AP, so I've been able to join my family. The app is absinthe horrible at the parks. It works much better at the resort and on our ipad. Changing on the fly is awesome, but super annoying to do at the parks. None of the cms know where the kiosks are, so we are usually stock trying our phones.
I've been in line at guest services 5 times due to ticket issues. They cannot upgrade tickets without losing all of the fp+ reservations.
But we are having a wonderful time and I think everything has been worked out. I think the new system well be fine once the kinks are fixed.
Dinner at Ohana tonight, so ask any questions, I should be around to answer!
We just retuned and we had problems with our newly activated APs. The first set they gave us wouldn't work on Day Two and they couldn't figure out why. They had to deactivate them and re-issue all new ones. Then, our KTTW cards wouldn't work in the doors or for charging and those all had to be re-issued twice and our reservation completely re-done with a new confirmation number in order for the cards to work. We did get some FPs for our troubles.
Enjoy the rest of your stay!
Please add me to the log-o-rail. February 23-March 2 CR BLV! We're squeezing in a Disney trip during our PCS from Korea.
It's our first stay at CR and we're so excited!
IASW! We were stationed at Yongsan, too. In fact, I had DD in Seoul. So glad you're PCSing FROM and not TO
. It sure is good to be back home I bet. I hope you're happy with your new assignment. I've logged you!
We are booked in the GW as well! Do you find yourself wishing you were in the tower at all, or is not even a big enough difference to notice?
I'll be honest with you, when I was making our Christmas reservation this week, I asked DH if I could only get the GW, would he want me to book it and he said NO. We LOVE CR, but we really love the Tower. It's just a personal preference.
I asked DH why he didn't want to stay in the GW and he said that while the room we once had on the gound floor facing Bay Lake was great, we once had a room that was located more in the middle of the wing and he didn't like the long, dark hallways and he remembers seeing a lot of room service trays and junk in the hallways, (we experienced this at Poly, too).
When you're in the Tower, you walk out of your room and you see the 4th floor concourse below and the castle and the view is amazing - windows everywhere! It's very bright and airy, unlike the GW. Again, this is just a personal preference and I am not trying to make the GW sound bad, we just prefer the Tower and its views (interior and exterior), the balcony and being higher up.
Staying at BLT for the first time. In 2 weeks! It's my home resort but DH and I always end up somewhere else. Going on a Girls Birthday cruise and decided we needed to come in a couple days early to visit the parks. Excited!!
