Gretchen - How was the food at Three Broomsticks?

The shepard pie at Raglan looks good. Is it a small serving or is that deceptive? I think my son might like it so I want to make sure it's enough food for dinner.

TFS your pics!

I have had the Shepherds Pie at Raglan Road and it is huge and very good. I can barely eat half of it.

Thanks everyone for your posted photos, the food at the Three Broomsticks looks good however I can't look at that Shepherd's Pie at Raglan Rd without shaking my head though..

Traditionally here in the UK "Cottage pie" is made using BEEF and "Shepherd's Pie" is made using MUTTON or LAMB never a combination of both. This goes back to when shepherds were responsible for moving their sheep flocks over arable lands from day to day and any lost animals were used to provide sustenance to the shepherd . The same applied to drovers who moved cattle all over the country on foot sometimes cattle didn't make it and they had to be destroyed and cooked making several portions if meat to be given away to be eaten amongst the drovers and travellers between towns.

These days folks use ground beef or lamb or if you are being frugal off cuts from other joints from either a side of beef or a side of lamb. My family for several generations has never served or eaten it with a huge salad either, it's always served with a couple of sides of vegetables and gravy to match the meat used.

Just wanted to say thanks to everyone for the great pictures and wonderful postings.

Just curious : is the Tie-Dyed Cheesecake still offered at Pop? We would love to try it so planning to stop by on our way to Downtown...

Figment, I hope to bump into you in the parks one day. Would love to take my pic with you! :) You're a celebrity foodie in my book! :thumbsup2

It should be, they still had it the first week of June (that was the first thing my kiddos wanted, too).

Not only that but it appears there are two laps lapus with that flatbread and dole whip! That's what I'm talking about! Lol
