Babycakes just confuses me...
They label their flour soy-free, but not nut-free when soy, almonds, and hazelnuts are all processed on the same line and decontaminated the exact same way. I understand that they are not "nut-free" due to regulations requiring them to label coconut as a tree nut, but I really think that federal regulations need to be a bit more specific when it comes to labeling something as "...-free".
If it makes you feel any better, their facility also uses corn, rice, apples, and probably many other things that happen to make even Babycakes off limits to many of us with food allergies.
You could always make it up to him by getting him a doughnut or ice cream maker if he has any cooking desires. I don't eat out anymore except at WDW due to my food allergies, but I don't feel left out since everyone comes over to my house and we make ice cream and sorbet flavors that can't be bought in the stores.
