*2013* epcot food & wine festival 9/27-11/11

Quick question about using your AP for the early booking. Our AP's expired 2 months ago, but we renewed and got the exchange certificates in the mail last week. Should I give them my old AP number when I call or my name, or am I out of luck since we don't have the new AP's in hand? Thanks!

to DISBUG: re concierge booking 4 u: we were told (by concierge services) that they cl the same # we would - are put on hold- and if avail they book. Unfortunately no 'magic' # for them to cl to guarantee ressie. Also no guarantee as to WHEN they will attempt to call! Could be afternoon!

Basically just the same as anyone trying to get a Sig Dinner or whatever. no advantage at all. If u find out differently, please let us know!!

Could you post the link you used? I can't find anywhere on the epcotfoodfestival page to "book" anything.

Didn't use a link. Just went to the Disney Dining reservations section of the website and put in my date (9/29) and the time 4pm and searched for restaurants. It came up within all the restaurants there as Wine/Beverage Seminar.

So someone was able to book the 19th? I was on with them from 8:15-8:35 and they weren't able to pull up any seminars for 10/19. The supervisor said that date wasn't loaded in yet.
:(

Got all 7 culinary demos that I wanted! Jamie Deen, Carla Hall, Buddy Valastro, Wendy Bazilian, Koussina chefs, TJ, and Ingrid Hoffman

I just read on the food blog that Buddy Valastro will be there again this year.

My DS would love to see him, but it says it was $99 for the seminar. Is that the only way to see him? I was hoping he would be at a booth. I think a couple of years ago they had a cannoli booth.

Does anybody know?? Thanks for any info.

on Monday October 14th he is doing a culinary demonstration:
1:00 PM Buddy Valastro, Carlo's Bakery, Hoboken, NJ Savory

It is marked as savory though, so not sure if you want to see him NOT make cake

I was successful in booking all 7 demos that I wanted! I called DVC Member Services 1-800 number right at 8am and I got an agent right away. She had a little trouble getting her computer to load the F/W info and had to put me on hold. She was back within 2 minutes though and we booked of my requests. She said I was her first call of the day and she had just been briefed on how to handle these reservations this morning. The whole thing took about 20 minutes since each demo has to be paid for separately. The agent was so good that I waited and did the survey afterwards!

Now....just waiting until Tuesday to book one more event.....

Well, that's an improvement... at least they gave them a little warning. The last time I called a few years ago the agent did not have a CLUE what I was talking about :thumbsup2

Apparently the 3pm demo on Nov 3 (Chef TJ) is a typo on the schedule so I couldn't book that. Also, Oct 29 Kouzzina Chefs was sold out (Oct 30 was still available).

Thanks!

I got one to work online. The other wasn't showing up, but I could book it when I just called back. MDE has all 3 reservations linked already, so I think I'm good to go.

Celebrity chefs do not appear at the World Showcase booths.

He is doing a $14 culinary demonstration on October 14. Book it now if you possibly can. It will sell out. As noted above, according to the schedule he will not be preparing a dessert.

Thank you I did just read that on the 1st page. Probably should have read before posting :(
I was originally reading a special event.
I think we'll try to do it anyway.

Just to confirm - I played around with online booking and it will accept the reservation, but it DOES NOT give the discount.

Advance payment is required to reserve Culinary Demonstrations.
Credit Card Advance Payment

$28.00 will be charged to your credit card (including tax and 18% gratuity). View Details

So, if you are doing Mon-Thur don't book online!

You are right! Looks like you can book it that way... no discounts given, but hey, your time is worth at least $2, right?:thumbsup2

Wow - glad I booked that first thing! The 10/29 Cat Kora will be our last event before we leave for the airport :sad:

But it's a good way to finish. :cheer2:

For the pre-sale for these events, do they make all tickets available or just a sub-set? Like for the above mentioned Oct 29 Kouzzina Chefs deminar, does that mean that is it, no more tickets left period, or just the tickets set aside for pre-sale and if you call on Tuesday there is another set of tickets available?

Last year, when an event sold out in pre-sale, that was it. I know Robert Irvine did a demo, and it sold out in pre-sale.

And for those who may be interested, the Culinary Demo ressies showed up on MDE:
