Vera Bradley Bags

Does anyone know when the bags will be available? Do you think they be near the same retail price as normal Vera's? I am so excited, hoping they will be available in October!

I spoke to someone in the Vera Bradley retail store and she said that they are available now but are very expensive and even the Vera employees cannot get a discount. She said one of her fellow employees had gone to WDW and ended up not purchasing. I asked if at anytime they would be available at the outlet and she said most likely not because it is a Disney product.

Bottom line I did not see them when I was there two weeks ago.

Looks like the standard 200% above retail value Disney markup is still alive and strong.

Typical stupidity... My wife used to get these bags and they weren't that cheap (10 years ago)...and the price has gone up a good bit.

If they had just charged the normal prices they would sell tons and tons... I would venture to guess that their sales will fall short.

Even at wdw where people are money drunk...this type of product that already has a nice sized following would do great...but not at 50% above retail.

They'll sell no doubt... But as with Disney it will be penny wise and pound foolish

I was in every store on Main st yesterday & the only bags being sold that I saw were dooney & Bourne and Harvey bags. I was bag shopping and have been looking like crazy for the Vera bags. There weren't any Vera brand bags disney or stock. Perhaps you are confusing it with the Harvey bags?

The only Vera bags I saw were in the shop at the boardwalk & they were in the regular summer patterns you can buy anywhere.

We are going at Thanksgiving...Will be interesting to see if there will be any to purchase then! I was at Disney when the Alex and Ani bracelets rolled out and they were flying off the shelves!

The more I thought of it... The more I believe that the poster that said she saw them in the magic kingdom was mistaken.

He/ she saw the Dooney bags... Not the Vera Bradley.

That would explain the $200 price tags

The Bradley bags aren't due till next month and there isn't much mentioned of them on a google search since march. I'm sure if

Perhaps they had a special showing for the retail associates. The salesperson told me that they were very expensive and lets face it most VB's are around 75 to 150 and so therefore, I do not think 200 is out of the question. AS I said I will wait till they show up at the outlet and then pay perhaps 25 for them.

IF POSSIBLE NEVER PAY FULL PRICE FOR VERA. For example, as I said in another thread I got the small chain bag for 50 in a store near me b/c I had a gc. HOWEVER, I went to the outlet that weekend and paid.....16.50 for the same bag!

Anyone know how close the VB outlet in Orlando is to WDW or US? Maybe I will make DH take me when we go in Oct. No outlet in my state

There is an outlet store in both outlets in Orlando. They are not far from Disney at all..I would say about 20 minutes from the WDW gate.
