Hi, right now we are booked 7 nights Poly GV CL under a CM discount. For $960 more I could go to RPC. I have never been to either. Which one would you choose and why? Looking forward to hearing your opinions :)

That's so hard I've been to both & LOVE both.. When are you going?

Sept 2013 Poly, 2012 Disney Fantasy, BC CL, GF CL, POR, 2011 Poly CL, CR, Poly CL, AKL, 2010 Poly CL, ASMu 2009, SSR 2008, Pop 2006, POR , Asmo 2005, Asmo 2003, offsite 2000, 1999,1989, Poly 1980, offsite 1979

I want to apologize to those who are fearful of their upcoming CL trip possibly due to my comments. That was definitely not my intent. I just wanted to say it like it was and not sugar coat anything. That being said, we really did have a great trip and are planning our return next year. It will just be on the regular floor. CL did have it's pros and cons for us and everyone does have a different experience.

I wish everyone happy planning and a wonderful trip.

I totally agree with what you said..
I don't think I said it clear enough, lol
We've had some excellent visits with CL, but we were also deciding if it was worth it for spotty service.
Maybe were a tougher crowd, because we experienced that amazing service!
The price for some Concierge isn't much more than paying for a view.. Maybe that's what the difference is..I booked a Deluxe CL room for WL & that doesn't guarantee a view! Lol

It is difficult to get the cast rate at either club level at GF, so I would probably go with that one. Whichever one you choose have a great trip. I just booked WL club level with my cast discount, couldn't get anything at any Epcot resort or the GF. Would love to try GF one of these trips.

Thanks for the opinions. We are going Jan 18-25th. If poly is going through refurb I think we might try out RPC. I wish I could find more pics or videos of the lounge. I see so much of poly I feel like Ive already been there :)

All stays at WDW resorts are amazing! Sometimes I just get nitpicky and stressed about certain things. But it sure won't stop me from coming down all the time and I know we'll still do CL even with the changes. :thumbsup2

I agree that all of the resorts are amazing ::yes::. We have stayed at one mod and all but 3 deluxes and we have no complaints about any of those stays and wouldn't hesitate to stay at any of the resorts again :goodvibes.

We are a rope drop family and like the room to be cleaned early. We always tell the IPO staff that we will be out of the room by 8:30 and need the room cleaned by noon. 95% of the time mouse keeping is done by the time we return. We were once told they appreciate that because then they know what room they can start on early without disturbing someone.

This is good to know :). And it does make sense.....if housekeeping knows some rooms will be empty early in the morning, those rooms can get cleaned and out of the way :thumbsup2.

I like reading any and all reviews, whether they are great or not. I appreciate your honest review :flower3:.

We've never stayed CL at the Poly, but have stayed RPC and if the extra cost is doable, I'd go with RPC. I have read nothing but great things about the Poly lounge, but RPC is amazing :cloud9:. The lounge is spacious with plenty of seating, the views are beautiful, it's relaxing sitting in the lounge listening to the band playing, and the CL CMs are awesome :thumbsup2. Good luck.

I totally agree with staying RPC if you can. Years ago, you didn't have to pay for the Theme Park View, it was by chance, luck, or Pixie Dust ! Lol
We were in a room that had a full Castle view. Not a tree in sight! Every night I enjoyed that view & watched the Castle turn those magnificent colors!
I also loved the lobby of the main bldg in GF. To hear the music playing & see a lot of beautiful brides. It was amazing!
I loved the Poly too, but felt like our room was a regular room. We loved the lobby & the grounds & my kids still talk about the Volcano pool.
I found the CM's at RPC to be amazing! Although I didn't have that extra special magic from the Poly CM's doesn't mean you won't. They were always very friendly & said "Aloha" everytime we walked by. I loved that my little daughter would say Aloha to them.
If you can stay in the Main Bldg at GF, I say go for it!
The only thing I can say is that besides CM service, the Poly was a little easier to get around, because you could take a quick walk to the T&TC to get to Epcot.
Let us know what your decision is!!

abk96 No worries nor apologies needed for an honest review. Nothing can bring me down from the high I am on in anticipation of my upcoming BWI CL stay. I know I love the BWI after staying there our last 2 trips. :cloud9:

My first experience with CL will be this September.

We will be staying at CR and taking the DME to the resort. Our flight gets in at 5:40 am at MCO.

How long will it be to get to CR and should I expect someone to meet the bus or should I just proceed to the check in?

Also I have three reservations linked (we stay one night at CR and then go on DCL before returning to WDW and staying at another resort) but only want to check in online for our CR. Is this possible?

Also if we are taking the DCL transportation but need to check out do they do automatic check out and if the transportation comes after we are required to check out can we still use the lounge to wait?

I have tried to read for these answers through the thread but think I missed it, so I appreciate your responses.

The only resort where my room was consistently cleaned before noon was the Poly. All the other resorts seem to be hit or miss. It's irritating to come back to the resort at 200 pm and walk into a dirty room. We have had issues at every resort CL or not. I would put in a request to have your room cleaned early. I would keep the Poly not because of the housekeeping, but because it hands down better than YC. YC CL is just so-so IMO.

Thank you! We were leaning towards the Poly for all those reasons. So far, William in the Poly IPO has been fantastic!

Great idea! We are always out before 8:00. I get up at 4:30 at home so at WDW I am lucky if I can sleep in until 6...

Any recent return from anyone staying at Cont Club. We are about ready to book for next March. Don't hear much about the Cony. club level. Just me and my DH.

No worries from me either.:thumbsup2 Even though YC CL seems to get some of the worst reviews on here, I've booked there because I want to stay at YC, with or without the CL. The CL will be used for the extra space and the "free" beers. I'm not expecting anything more in the way of mousekeeping than if I were booked non-CL. I'm too much of a control freak to let IPO handle the planning part of it, so that perk is moot. :rotfl:

I'll say too that although I've stated on this thread before that I would not do YC CL again, we certainly did not have a horrible experience. It was one of our best trips!!! And the YC CL was nice and we are glad we tried it, just nothing we need to do again. I think you'll have a fantastic time! We sure did. :goodvibes

We loved the YC overall and would absolutely stay there again, just not shell out the extra $$ for CL. But, if you have the opportunity to try it, you absolutely should!

We are staying CL Poly for the first time in Sept. We have been to Disney many many times. We go at least twice a year.

I have read that you check in at Hawaii. Do you park your car and walk up and tell them or just pull up in front?. How does that work?

We had changed to CL from a standard Poly room last week. Do we need to receive anything in the mail?

We do not have a package. We are planning to buy annual passes for the first time. Is this something that the CL staff can help us with? If we buy them there, do we have to activate them at guest services at the park? We are wondering iChat is the fastest way to get them and have them activated, so we don't have to worry about in the morning. We like to get to the park prior to park opening.

Thanks!

We've never stayed at the YC, but I agree with you that if YC CL is something you want to try, then go for it. Everyone's experiences/opinions are different and what one person doesn't like, the next person will love. Both YC and BC club levels get a lot of bad reviews, but there are also a lot of people that love one or the other or both.....it's all a matter of preference and personal taste. I'm the same way about using IPO. I like having total control and doing all of my own ADRs and bookings for dinner shows, etc. so IPO never hears from me whenever we stay CL . Have a great trip and I hope you enjoy YC CL :wizard:.

Since you just upgraded to club level recently I would recommend emailing IPO to touch base with anything you need. Dining reservations, room requests, questions, etc, etc. Also you can tell them your expected arrival time. They might just have someone down there to meet you. Or if not, just walk up to the valet and tell them you are checking in for club level.

Have you thought about buying your APs now? That way you can just trade the vouchers in at the ticket window. It's a painless and easy process. :) Since you have a car you might even find it easier to stop at Guest Relations at DTD before you even go to the Poly.

Double guessing my decision for staying BC Deluxe room CL. We have never stayed CL before so it sounded exciting. We were not able to get the general public discount applied ( we do have 15% from AAA) but did receive a pin but would have to switch to standard view CL at YC. Is one CL better or worse than the other? I really don't want our first experience to be a bummer. If anyone has any opinions they would like to share I would really appreciate it!

When you pull up to Gaye you'll give the guard a firm of ID a d let them know your checking into CL. Then pull all the way upfront, there will be ppl to unload the car & all you need to do is ask for them to pls make sure someone from Hawaii is coming to get you. Then you'll either check in at the desk in Hawaii ( so beautiful) or your room if its ready! Easy!

Staying CL in AK for the 1st time. We will be flying in and taking transit from the airport.
It's my 40th Bday trip and looking forward to it. Any tips?
