We have free dining for fq. However we got it booking bounce back last year. The resort is so small they don't offer many discounts.

Just changed to stay at PFQR from CSR in November. I need some advise, which building would you request? We would love something close to the bus stop and if possible close to food area so we can refill quickly. If I would like a ground floor room, should I request that also?

Definitely request ground floor if you want it. (My primary request is always "NOT ground floor.") Rather than requesting a building, I think the best advice is to request "something close to the bus stop and if possible close to food court." You're probably looking at Bldg 4 or 5, but if you just give a building number, you could be at the far end of that building away from where you want to be.

Evidently, it is usually excluded from FD promotions - we were just super-duper lucky. I hope you are able to get it at POFQ! :flower3:

Really? Now, see, I missed that important fact back when researching which resort we were going to stay at! :lmao: I researched when FD was offered and I didn't pick a value, so I thought I was doing pretty good. If it's been excluded in the past, I guess there's not much I can say, is there?

Does anyone else feel ripped off? I've been accused the last week of acting entitled. Now I deal with entitled people and I've never considered myself one, I just feel like we were arbitrarily excluded from a really good deal that just about everyone else got. It also seems VERY limited. With POR selling out of FD before noon, for example......

Sorry if post high jacking. I'm guessing I just really screwed up. We would have never chosen POFQ if I knew it was routinely excluded from FD.......makes me:sad2:

When I first made my res. in early June FOFQ didn't have any more rooms for FD so we booked at CSR for Nov. I just called about an hour ago and they had an opening for FD so we switched resorts.

My SIL received a FD PIN that we were able to use for POFQ - I guess we really lucked out.

Edited to add that we are all going together as a grand family vacay.

A room that's close to the bus stop is also going to be close to the food court, so it's really not necessary to request both.

No really, no. There are other resorts for which Disney is offering special discounts or FD offers to help clear unbooked inventory. The fact that you want to stay at a resort which is not currently discounted is really your choice rather than Disney ripping you off. You can always keep checking to see if any offers appear and then switch .

Me too!!! POFQ is not usually excluded from free dining.

I've often seen FQ get free dining too, but the amount of places can be more limited (as has been said before, these sort of offers are really only there to fill empty rooms - if the resort is already well-booked, they won't add more offers).

In double digits! 99 days :dance3:

We are down to 93 days.. :thumbsup2

Two of my wife's coworkers are running the Wine & Dine Half Marathon with us and also staying at POFQ. One has never stayed on disney property before and the other has always stayed at the All-Star resorts. We plan on converting them over to the "dark side" :darth: that is Moderates. Haha

I agree 100%. Simply because you are staying at a resort that did not get a discount is not the fault of the people running the business. NO ONE at POFQ got a discount. It isn't as though they singled you out and said that just you are excluded.

Guess I feel really lucky!!! We're staying the end of August at POFQ on a free dining PIN! I know a lot of people were really disappointed when the general public free dining didn't include the last part of August. I was totally bummed, but was going to switch resorts and scale back a bit so we could still go. Then POOF! the free dining PIN appeared.

I now know that if there's a bounce back offer for next year, same time, I'm definitely booking it while we're there. Have absolutely no idea whether a trip next year is in our cards, but not taking a chance of being left out! It's worth the refundable balance just to "hold" a space for us!

It wasn't just POFQ that was excluded from FD, ASMO and AoA were as well; there are way more rooms there that were excluded than at FQ.

If we hadn't gotten the FD PIN I knew that it was likely I might not get FD at FQ and even though I had my heart set on it was prepared to move to POR/CBR/CSR in order to get FD.
People have been posting on the discount board that it seems like more rooms are becoming available at POR the last few days.

This time in 22 days we will be at the airport ready to fly down to see the Mouse and his kingdom. I don't know who's more excited, me or the kids, lol.
This is our first time in a MOD, we usually do the Poly. I love the look and theme of POFQ, it seems so pretty.

See this is where I feel flexibility is your best friend when booking a vacation with WDW. I have stayed at 3 of the 4 Moderates at Disney, and there are things I love about each of the 3. We are going with Free Dining BounceBack in 15 days, and staying at POFQ. But, last year we were at CBR (which is our favorite), but we chose POFQ this year because we needed to save a little $ and booked a STD Rm location, we usually book Pref. at CBR for location at Food Court and main pool, but STD is still a great location at POFQ, it just made more sense to me. But, if FD hadn't been available to me at POFQ, we'd have booked at POR and requested a Mansion room or we'd have found the extra money and booked Pref. at CBR. Sometimes, its just the nature of the beast with WDW. If they are filling up a resort without a Discount, they aren't going to offer it. But, if you wish to participate in the Discount, you have to be flexible to go where its available. Being upset and complaining is what makes others see you as appearing entitled. You always have the choice to not go at all. To them, you are a paying customer, they will treat you well if you do the same, but they are going to sell rooms as they see fit. Sorry, just how I see it.
