We used Fidelity and First American Title (FAT)-

Thursday May 9 - first offer made on AKV loaded contract, seller countered
Monday May 13 - we countered, seller accepted
Thursday May 16 - contract arrived, returned same day
Tuesday May 21 - sellers returned contract (5 days later than we did)
Wednesday May 22 - sent to ROFR
Monday June 17 - passed ROFR
Wednesday June 26
- received closing documents
Thursday June 27 - returned closing documents and cashiers check
Friday June 28 - our documents arrived at FAT
Monday July 8 - contacted FAT and then Fidelity to ask about status, had not received sellers documents
Wednesday July 10 - seller asked for new set of closing documents to be sent
Tuesday July 16 - Sellers documents arrived at FAT
Wednesday July 17 - contract closed with FAT, Disney notified, deed sent to OCC
Monday July 22 - deed recorded - status says “in process”
Wednesday July 24 - called DVC asking for memb. #, not in system
Thursday July 25 - Deed recording complete, called DVC, still nothing
Friday July 26 - Called DVC, not in system
Monday July 29 - Called DVC, names in system, no membership #
Tuesday July 30 - Called DVC, membership # registered, no SSN or password in system so we cant get it, emailed FAT, our closing agent out of town for the week, emailed Sharon at Fidelity
Tuesday July 30 - FAT emailed Disney, Disney said that password could ONLY be added to new member account by the actual member after member had set up their account. Said all SSNs were blacked out on all documents and therefore could not be added to the account. Said we would just have to wait for Membership #.
Wed. July 31- Called MA as we were buying a second resale contract to ask not for Memb. # but to confirm if my name on the deed had the full middle name or only the middle initial, got same mean lady - wouldnt help - said I had to have membership # to talk to me.
Thursday Aug. 1- Called MS to try for Membership #, they would not give it to me. Later callled MA to check on my name on deed, got nicer lady but she would not help either!
Friday Aug. 2 - Called MS, got great guy who wanted and tried so hard to help but could not give me my membership # as there was no SSN on record
Saturday Aug. 3 - Membership # came in the mail!!! Called and got account set up!
Monday Aug. 5 - Made 1st reservation

TOTAL - 82 DAYS from accepted offer to possibility of making reservation ( I didn't reserve on the day my membership # arrived due to scheduling conflicts but could have)

I was very happy with Fidelity although there were a few things that were not directly in their control but had they been more on top of things with the seller (without me begging for information as to why things were not moving), we would not have lost the 5 days in May (seller only returned signed contracts after I called Sharon and asked if they had been returned and she called them) and the 20 days in June/July when I called FAT to ask why the closing had not been completed. Again, I had to call Sharon also and they had to resend a closing packet to seller which took 20 days later than it took me to return my documents.

Now we are working with the Timeshare Store and *** on a second contract and the difference is night and day - but that is another post soon to come!!

As of now we are OFFICIAL MOUSE OWNERS at AKV and in ROFR with Timeshare Store for BLT!! Life is GREAT (Life is Good doesn't say enough!!)

Wow, what a difference in timelines. We went through TTS, made an offer on 6/2 and had points loaded and made reservation on 7/30, 59 days from offer to points.

Just goes to show you how variable the process can be. I don't think ours could have gone much smoother, sounds like yours had some hiccups.

Congratulations, by the way!

Sent from my phone using DISBoards Ap, please excuse any typos and autocorrect mistakes.

Fidelity timeline is scaring me. We just passed ROFR, and we need our points so I can book my Dec trip. I also have lots of points expiring. :scared:

We just closed a contract through Fidelity and Magic Vacation this past week. Everything went as fast as it possibly could and as fast and smooth as any timelines I've seen mentioned. There is nothing Fidelity can do about a seller taking forever to send in their paperwork. Our seller was on the ball and we were closed in less than 1 week from getting our closing documents. I was pretty shocked each step of the way as to how fast and smooth everything was going - but that comes down much more on how quick the sellers are at each step than which company you are with. Fidelity definitely didn't hold up anything. Anytime anything fell into their hands it was taken care of within a day.

This is my first contract and I would buy from Fidelity again in a heartbeat. Awesome experience.

How long from ROFR waived to closing?

You got your member # in the mail already?!? UGH

We closed with FAT on July 12th and Disney notified / deed sent to OCC. Our deed wasn't recorded until the 23rd and we are still waiting for our member # / packet. :sad2:

Just be aware that December availability is already pretty spotty at SSR (the largest DVC resort), so there may not be much you could do by the time you get your member number in 4-6 weeks.

Oh no! I guess we will have to see.

How long from ROFR waived to closing?

We passed ROFR on July 23, had closing documents on July 25, and closed on August 2 when they received the closing documents back from the seller - so it was 10 days.

This was with Fidelity and Magic Vacation Title - Magic Vacation Title was very fast. Fidelity had JUST added them as an option when we had to choose a title company and added them because of a number of requests. I can see why.

I should be right behind you...

June 12th went to Disney for ROFR
July 9th Waiver from Disney
July 22nd Buyer closing documents received by Magic Vacation Title
July 23rd Seller closing documents received
July 24th Closed and filed with OC and Disney

I went thru Jerry at the Timeshare Store and Brenda at Magic Vacation Title everything went very smoothly!

Spoke to MA yesterday They asked for the last 4 of my SS# and I dont remember ever being asked for it through out this process so I doubt Disney will have it Guess I have to wait for the mail...
I do remember reading somewhere that I could fax a request to add it but I cant find that thread...
