Disney's ART OF ANIMATION RESORT Information & Questions

Is going to food court from LM room a pita? Wondering if we shod get the refillable mugs....

Just my opinion but yes I did find going from our LM room to the food court to be a pita! I guess if you spend a lot of time at the resort, like a pool day, it would be ok. But going to the parks, walking all those miles, walking back to a LM room from the bus...only to have to walk all the way back for a mug of soda...yup, to me, this a total pita. I'm sure there are many people with the total opposite opinion tho. I guess you can make the decision on the mugs when you get there and see if it seems like a pita to you. ;)

Now that pita was pointed out as funny I can't read it without laughing! Doh. P.I.T.A. I will just say a pain. We are going for a short stay, Sunday evening arrival, dinner at food court for the kids and my mom while Dh and I run off to an anniversary dinner. :) aaw. Anyhow, Monday Veterans Day pool and resort day..want to try all fo the pools, do the drawing class, eat lots of food :). Ten the next two days are park days and most likely will not eat there unless they want to get some coffee and keep the mug int he bottom of the stroller in the park. Just trying to see if it is worth it to buy them while doing our food budget.

Wish they had a drink refill station at either end of the resorts or at the other pools!!!!

I was really shocked to read that the whole AOA resort was excluded from the fall free dining promo. Usually it's just the LM rooms. We aren't booked until November of 2014 for our Cars suite stay, and we are pretty set on cars with or without free dining. But the money saver that I am really hopes for a discount next fall!!! Until then I'll just plan at rack rate! Anyone else out there that refuses to budge on staying at AOA without a discount? Or am I the only crazy that is just dying to stay at AOA???

We are booked our LM rooms next summer and although we would love a discount, we just honestly want to stay at AoA. We have tossed around other resorts because of discounts, but just keep coming back to AoA. So, I am pretty much right there with you!

Nt crazy, I decided not to switch to carribean beach in order to remain at AoA. Of course if we had a longer stay or more people I would have changed for financial reasons, but I am excited to go to AoA!!!

We are not switching either due to having out heart set on a Nemo suite. We stayed at POR last year and really wanted more of a kid theme. Our kids are 11,9,7 and 4. We figure we can always stay someplace with a discount when they are older. Plus our week wasn't included in the FD and I already had every ADR we wanted plus BBB and Pirates league and we would have had to sacrifice Be Our Guest and CRT plus others if we switched now.

But it is part of the room-only discount. People can book with the discount and still add tickets & dining. It's called "room-only" to indicate that the discount is on the room portion of the package only, not on tickets or dining.

You may still get a discount - don't despair!

Did exactly that for our trip in November. Saved about $250. Not free dining, but that money in my pocket helps!!

I stayed in LM for 1 night last year and it was a loooong walk, but our room was about as far as you could get from animation hall. I would request a room closest to animation hall.

We were the same way for our trip in June. We booked a Nemo Suite in July 2012 for travel in June 2013. We decided we were staying at AoA with or without a discount. We were traveling as a party of 6 (in the suite) along with my DS and his girlfriend (they booked a LM room). When discounts came out of course the LM rooms weren't included (but my son decided to stay there anyway) and the suites were only a 15% discount on room only...but did not include the Nemo suites. At that point, I did decide to switch to a different section to get the discount because it saved us over $500. We weren't dead set on having a Nemo room so it wasn't a big deal to switch. We were sprinkled with Pixie dust and ended up with a Lion King room that was about as close to the main building and bus stops as you can get. We most likely would have had a longer walk if we stayed with the Nemo suite.

Yellowfish, if they are not up and running by then I am hoping we get to test in November!

We are booked for next August in the Lion King suite and pretty much NEED to be at AoA since we have 5 people. Of course we'd LOVE a discount, any discount, but it gets too expensive not being able to stay at a value resort.

Well our family opted to pass on the free dining and just stay at AOA. Yes it will cost more b/c no free dining but we love the looks if the resort. This is suppose to magical vacation so AOA it is for us

Two rooms at some of the mods can be less expensive than an AoA suite.

Is there a way to get a building layout ?
I know it's a longshot, but at POP and other resorts, I've always been granted rather specific room requests (from a room number range)

So, for example, if I'm staying in LM building 7, I know that 75xx will mean building 7 1st floor. But what about the room numbering ?

where is room 7501 for example (towards food court, path side, or lake side / towards building 9 pool/lake side, or on the wing pointing towards POP)

hope my question makes sense.
I've seen such a map for POP but I was wondering for AoA

TIA
