We made it to the CR, room does have a fridge. CR is not affected by the fridge fiasco. BTW, DW still thought we were at POR until we got to ME. The surprise worked!! Wish I would've got a picture of her face!

Really?!? So ALL rooms have a working fridge?? That would be very good news if true!

Haven't used Garden Grocer in about one year unless they changed their policy I was never charged a fee from the hotel . Had orders delivered to BWV and ASMu and both times no charge from resort. Garden Grocer has a delivery fee but it is worth it and I always included a tip when I paid in advance with credit card. Hope it works out for you.

I had no resort charge either when I ordered from Garden Grocer. I will let you know on the 12th. I read you were only charged when you received an order via mail or parcel service. (Costco, staples)

This is what I would do if you know you want to stay at the CR in the GW. Have you tried calling to check availability for standard view? I ask because the website has had some glitches lately, so there is a slim chance that even though it's not showing available online, it might be available by calling. It would be worth a try. Good luck.

Definitely keep checking. I decided to add a day when I found out about the FP+. GW Standard was not available at 11pm, but there by 9am the next morning.

thanks. We arent going till 2014 so hope something opens up. I look almost every day and nothing. Even in October 2014 for a week we considered there is no garden wing at all!!

Standard has never been available since rates were released

Am thinking I should just book garden view and keep checking for standard view.

I've been trying to get Sept 2014 GW standard view since my 499 day mark back in May and it has never been available... I've asked multiple CMs about what could be going on and none of them know. I always get the standard issue "it doesn't say, it's just not available"... They've always been very nice about it but it's still frustrating. I know it's over a year out and there is a lot of time for change, but us getting a Standard view room or not makes a difference in our budget and in our plans as a whole. And now I'm just curious as to what's going on!
I ended up booking GW Garden View just because I was nervous those would not be available either after some point. I'm going to keep checking for SV and hope that something opens up eventually.

It's entirely possible there's a convention that has a block of rooms. Disney discounts convention rooms, so it makes sense they would rather stick the convention-goers who are paying $1XX a night in the GW and sell everyone else the Tower rooms at the Tower price.

For our upcoming trip in a couple of weeks, we determined we wanted GW Standard View early on when we planned our trip but it was never available. I was very obsessive about it and checked almost daily since the beginning of the year. Then, once the RO discounts came out there were suddenly GW Standard View available with our dates. I had already booked elsewhere so I called to switch and was able to get it with a 30% discount! Not sure if I just got lucky or if this is common.

Glad you like the CR. I love reading posts like this as we are trying the CR for the first time in December and I'm getting more excited each day. Enjoy your last 2 days there .
