Our view from standard room in Bldg 4, 2nd floor. The bus stop is just beyond the vehicles you can see in the car park.

Standard room in building 4 or 3...does that exist? Or are they other views?

Also, does POFQ provides bed rails upon request?

The above is a standard room in building 4, walk through the garden to the bus stop. Funnily enough the rooms that are side on to this view are termed as garden view I guess because they don't see the car park but we loved this spot and the garden, the centre of which is a DSA.

18 days until 10 days of Disney bliss at FQ for us!!!

D~

We booked months ago anticipating fall discounts and modified reservations....

And October 11-18 is blacked out for Free Dining and the 20% off Room only discount for Moderates is supposedly available at POFQ - but apparently no rooms are during our dates...
I even checked all the discounted moderates and NONE have availability of their discounted rooms during our dates. Seriously?!?!?! :confused3

Between that and the blackout - I grow concerned that our low key fall trip is going to see more crowds than expected.... But it cant be as bad as spring break when we usually go!

I think there was a glitch on the website today. Everything I tried for using the room-only link came back as non-discounted rooms. Since TAs were reporting being on hold five hours or more and that they kept being told the computers were down, I think it was a website glitch. Disney should only release one discount at a time instead of several. I can imagine they were more than overwhelmed today. So, try again tomorrow.

Just booked this morning for my birthday trip. Nov 12-23rd. I was able to get the 20% for my dates.

First time to POFQ, first time in Nov, and first time I will be in a disney park for my birthday!! :cool1:

I was at POR in May, and I am looking forward to staying at POFQ

103 days to go! :woohoo:

I called today, within 2 hours of the discount announcement, to try and apply the 20% room discount to the room portion of our already existing POFQ package. I was also told their were no rooms left from the discounted pool of rooms that were set aside :confused3

THEN it dawned on me that if I were to bump our checkin date one day ahead, we could get free dining for our entire length of stay. However, I would have to change resorts since POFQ was not on the free dining list ;-(

So, we changed from POFQ over to POR. I am busy hyping myself up for POR now. It really does look like a lovely resort....its that I was so looking forward to FQ.

So, goodbye FQ board.....moving over to the POR board now. Andre, see ya there ;-)

Every year we request a room in building 5. We have always paid for a standard room as we are more than happy with that and don't really spend much time in our rooms so view is not a priority to us. Our request thus far has always been honored. However from the room layout on the maps it looks like there are no standard rooms in building 5 - only Garden, Water views and king beds. So my question is, have I been cheeky and been asking for something we weren't rightfully entitled to? If that is the case I feel awful! Or has it changed recently without me noticing?

The Garden View category was introduced at the start of 2012, so from then onward there were no "Standard" view rooms in buildings 2 or 5. Of course some people requesting them still get them by pixie dust. :)

We are booked in a King room. DH said he really would like a river view room if possible.

I think buildings 3 & 4 are the ones with no River views. So ask not to be in those buildings. Best way to get riverview is to book that category and then request a room with a king bed.

No, you need to do it the other way around - book a King Bed room and then request where you'd like to be, what view etc. (including river view). POFQ is so small that even river view rooms really aren't far at all from the bus stop and other areas - building 6 would be a great choice for example.

Yes, there are standard view rooms in 3 and 4, see my floorplan layouts for details. And you can request bedrails, yes.

question about laundry. I see on the first page it says debit/credit cards only. no cash or kttw cards. is this correct?? I have to use my bank card to do laundry? I feel like i'm miss reading it.
anyone know?

Yes, there are no coin boxes at the POFQ laundry now, just credit/debit card machines.

i can see this costing me a bit. lol. my debit card charges for out of country transactions. if i do one load of laundry it will cost me an extra six dollars to wash and dry.
looks like the dirty cloths come home. ;)

I'm planning to buy a Visa gift card at Walmart for laundry at WDW. I hope it will work. If it doesn't, then we're not doing laundry.

I'm sorry - call me paranoid or cynical - but I just don't trust unattended credit card machines (won't use RedBox for this reason). When we were at WDW a few years ago and gave our Visa for room charging privileges, somehow someone cloned our card and they were having fun in NYC while we were in Florida. So if they can grab our Visa from the check-in, I can only imagine what they can do at an unattended "laundromat."

We arrive from Uk for our first ever trip on the 10th September for 2 weeks and have roll in shower adapted room with two queen beds booked. Can not wait
