Wine Questions?

My DH and I are going on a 7 night cruise at the end of August. I really want to have a nice wine (1-2 glasses) with my dinner but my DH does not drink. Therfore I will not drink 7 bottles during the week. Can I order a bottle and have them bring it to my next dinner service or should I just order it by the glass? Trying to save as much as possible...

You can order a bottle of wine, that will follow you to each MDR in turn, if you wish. Or you can take it back to your room, if you wish. Or you can just order by the glass (probably more expensive this way).

Yes, absolutely. We also ordered a bottle of wine at Palo dinner and did not finish it. Our Palo waiter sent it on to our MDR serving team for the next night.

You can always bring your own wine on board with you too if you want. I wouldn't bring it to Palo (if you are splurging, might as well splurge) but the rest of the dinners or in your room or on deck (without carrying the bottle around with you), you can enjoy the wine you bring on board with you, if you want to.

The wine packages can be purchased for any number of nights. Even though you are on a 7 night cruise, if you think you might drink 3 or 4 bottles during the week, you can order that package. You are not limited to the 7 night package. And if you ever want to take a partial bottle with you back to your room after dinner, you can. Otherwise, they will keep it for you for the next night.

We bought two bottles of wine on board with us for our 7 day cruise. Got a corkscrew and wine glasses from room service. We originally planned to enjoy on our verandah but did end up bring our wine glasses in to the MDRs with us some nights. Worked great! When we went to Remy, we purchased a glass of wine there with our meal based on the sommelier's recommendations.

We packed the wine in our suitcases (but transferred them to our carry-on before boarding using the "wine diaper". It got the job done!!

oh I love a wine thread! Thats the great thing about a Disney Cruise, your wine follows you around the restaurants!

I like to bring my own wine. I like aged Bordeaux and it is always outrageously priced on the ship if it is even available. I also like Oregon Pinot Noir and they usually don't have that either it on the ship.

I agree..and you can get what you like when you carry it on. I usually drink a glass with dinner and I bring it from the bottle in the room.

You can definitely bring your own wine onboard, if you take the whole bottle to the MDR to drink with dinner, they will (or at least policy says they will) charge you a $20 "corkage" fee but that's still a lot less than buying a bottle from the menu.

Yes, we purchased a 3-night package on a 7-night cruise. Not a problem.

I would bring my own to Palo/Remy and pay the corkage. They have the typical restaurant markups which makes the price difference significant. Of course, I'm pretty picky about my wine (whiny, you might say). Not that I'm an expert, just that I'd hate to order something I don't like and I'm the type that wouldn't send it back just because I don't like it (I'd only do that if it was spoiled).
Also, you can start a bottle on day 1, not finish it and start a different one on day 2 (to match your food choice...) and go back on day 3...
You can also get the wine brought to you for lunch if you choose to go to a MDR for table service...

That's what I plan on doing....ordering a 3 night package for a 7 night cruise. I think it's the most economical way to do it vs buying by glass.
